  1. This is very disappointing. I was so hoping they'd get the bluetooth audio quirks fixed with the update.
  2. Don't forget about the tilt adjustable headrests! Also, we have learned that the new power seat adjustments on the passenger seat makes it lose it's fold-flat capability.
  3. Weird, I have a power passenger seat and it has a large lever on the right side that allows the seat to fold forward, flat.
  4. Slide the passenger seat back a bit so that the headrest won't hit the dash when the seatback comes foreward. Use the large hand lever on the right side of the passenger seat to actuate the seatback tilt adjustment. The seatback will tilt all the way foreward and lay flat.
  5. What did they tell you about availability through your friendly, local parts department?
  6. Just got back from my visit to the dealership. On the showroom floor they had a 2012 Edge Limited, and the headrests were adjustable! Nice, smooth ratcheting action with a multitude of angles possible. So, clearly the newest 2012s that are coming off of the line have tilt adjustable headrests. I then went over to the parts department to discuss my findings with them. They had no knowledge of new headrests, and neither did their parts database. The only part they shows fits both the 2011 and 20012, which must be the old fixed position headrest. The parts guy said that it can take about a month to get new parts into the system and that I should check back at a later date. On the subject of fitment of the new, adjustable headrests into the old seats... logically is seems to me that there would be no problem. The current replacement part shows that it would fit both 2011 and 2012 seatbacks, so the new, adjustable part should fit as well. So, I'm confident that I'll be able to buy adjustable headrests for my 2011 in the near future. It looked like the price was going to be in the $175 - $200 neighborhood.
  7. Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new ride. I'm polling new 2012 owners concerning their headrests. Some Edges seem to be coming off the line with tilt adjustable headrests, other seems to be fixed position like the 2011s. Would you mind wandering over to thread about headrests under 'Interior' and weigh-in on the adjustability of your headrests. Thanks in advance.
  8. I'm hoping to determine that this Sat. when I go to the dealership for a service appt. Strange, it appears as if some 2012s are shipping with adjustable headrests and some with the old fixed type. We now have confirmation that a 2012 Ecoboost and a 2012 Limited have arrived with the adjustable headrests. The dealership I called went out to multiple 2012s on their lot and found them all to have the old fixed headrests. It's a conundrum.
  9. Congrats on your new ride. Glad you're enjoying it so much. I'm polling 2012 owners... do your headrests tilt adjust? I have a 2011 and the headrests are fixed in a very forward tilt position. There is some evidence that the 2012s have a tilt adjustment. How about yours?
  10. Welcome to the Forum! Is the angle of the headrests in your 2012 adjustable? There is compelling evidence from another post/thread that 2012s come with adjustable headrests, but my dealership says 'no'. Thanks in advance.
  11. Thanks again for the pictures. I'm taking my Edge in to the dealership this weekend for some warranty repair work and will have to personally checkout the headrests in the 2012's while I'm there. I would LOVE to have adjustable headrests!!!
  12. I called my local Ford Dealership's Parts Dept and was told that it is the same part number for both sides, but a different part number for 2012. They could not tell me why. So, I talked to a Sales guy and he went out to the 2012 Edges on his lot and said that they're all just like the 2011s, angled forward and non-adjustable. So, now I'm really confused.
  13. I'm really surprised that they'd make one for the passenger seat and a different one for the driver seat. Are you sure yours aren't adjustable? In any case, this is great news to me and I thank for going to the trouble of taking a picture. I'll check with Ford and see what I can find out about replacing mine.
  14. I traded in a '04 Tahoe for my 2011 Edge and I'll bet, like me, you're feeling just a bit cramped. The Edge is no small car, it's just the comparison to the cavernous Chevy is taking some getting used to for me. You too? No problem going from the big V8 to the 6 though, for me. Plenty of power, and smoothly delivered.
  15. I have a 2011 and have yet to get used to the angle of the headrest. Are you saying that the 2012s have a redesigned headrest? I would be SO happy if that were the case. (Assuming they'll fit in a 2011)
  16. If it were me, I'd go back to where I got the new tires and have the tires and wheels spin balanced.
  17. Outstanding choice of colors and rims!
  18. I do not have Average Speed in my display either. I went through the user manual and it references only the four pieces of data you have listed (in a different order though). No Average Speed.
  19. My code number is on a wallet sized card stuck in clear plastic slot, on the back of the black pouch that holds all the owner's manuals.
  20. I FOUND ONE!!! White w/Black Interior and the 302A package. Only 3500 mi. on it. Adaptive Cruise Control is everything I'd hoped it would be. Drove the 101 and 405 here in LA yesterday, set the cruise control to 69 mph and gap distance on max. It handled all of the speed variations very smoothly, dealt with the other drivers swooping in front of me quickly, applying the brakes when necessary. As the original poster said, it's my favorite bit of technology on the vehicle. Bluetooth streaming Pandora is second.
  21. Would anybody with some techknowlege like to weigh-in on how the performance enhancement and GUI redesign will address (or not) the 'black screen of death' issue? I purchased my vehicle a week ago, immediately upgraded to 2.11, and then 4 days later had my first experience with: First the iPhone doesn't pair anymore, then the rearview camera won't come on and when it finally does it stays on after you've shifted into drive, then the imfamous black screen of death. I guess I'll be keeping a 10mm wrench in the car to disconnect the neg. battery terminal as needed.
  22. As a new owner who is just getting used to the existing GUI, this looks like a cleaner design, and the response speed improvement will be welcomed. One gripe... It looks like they're taking away the outside temperature readout. I'm not seeing it on any of the screen shots. IMO, it would me greatly missed.
  23. Could it have been an anti-lock braking issue? I don't own an Edge, yet. But, I know that with my Tahoe there are certain situations where I simultaneously brake and go over a bump that it fakes-out the anti lock brakes and I get a panic moment when the brakes don't feel like they're braking.
  24. Gotta have it!!!!!! It's going to be hard to find a used 2011 Limited with the adaptive cruise control option.... in white.... w/black interior.... but that's my goal.
