  1. You are going to LOVE those springs. They are so close in performance to the Eibach that I think it would take a pro to tell the difference once mounted up on the Edge.

Check with a paint and body shop on having your grille done. I bet the shops will be way cheaper than the dealership. The shops can get the Tuxedo Black with no trouble now.

I appreciate your props on my grill. :mademyday: Check out my photo album on my audio upgrades and see what you think. It might just get you started on a very expensive adventure. I'm telling you now that if you decide on Audio upgrades I am not taking the blame for the dent on your checking account! :shades:

I got my HID lights from Retro-Solutions. There were a few quirks but they were mostly my fault. I got the 55w kit and it was like adding two more headlights. I can see so much better and farther at night. The lights are fantastic. I chose the 6000k light temp because I like the tiny bit of blue. It is so slight it is almost impossible to see the color. If you are interested in getting rid of some of the ugly incandescent bulbs then may I suggest www.superlumination.com and please tell them Chris Pratt sent you. They have great stuff, fast shipping, and they stand behind the products.

Finally, here is a link to get you started on some great Ford Emblem replacements. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=2011+Ford+Edge+Billet+Emblems&_sacat=33645&_odkw=&_osacat=33645&_dmpt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&Make=Ford

Let me know how that works out for ya!

  2. The rear emblem was made so it has four pretty good contact points with the metal or plastic (whatever it is) on the lift gate. The emblem came with four pieces of really heavy duty 3M double sided ready to peel and stick. I just swabbed the area off really good with alcohol and it stuck like superglue. Easy as could be.

By the way, I thinK I said it on your post but I'll say it again...I really like your blacked out Ford emblem. Very classy looking. I guess I was shopping for the same stuff around the same time as you. I didn't go with a Ford badge because I just love watching people trying to figure out what kind of car it is. I see heads turning and staring going on all the time. I get a ton of questions at gas stations too! It's kind of fun. There are very few Edge Sports in my area that I know of so people already don't know what it is so removing the badge makes it that much more of a guessing game.

  3. I didn't take any pics of removing the rear emblem but there is seriously nothing to it at all. I used some trim panel removal tools and just worked around the edges from one side to the other and it was a piece of cake. There is a black piece of double sided sticky rubber behind the whole thing. It is not overly grippy where you have to worry about breaking the emblem or anything else while removing it.

  4. My flame overlays were already fading and weathering some so I decided to find something else. I settled on some really nice black billet emblem replacements. I ordered another chrome emblem mount for the front and dropped it off for Tuxedo Black painting last week. I went ahead and threw the front on the chrome backing and took some pics anyway. I will keep the extra chrome piece if I ever want to change it up. Anyway, here are some pictures.

  5. I'm not into doing mechanic type stuff other than your basic maintenance so I paid a shop to install my springs. I found a great local place that only charged me $250 including alignment on the AWD model. I'm so freaking happy with the difference. It's by far the best performance upgrade I've done.

  6. SItting on Eibach springs. As for quality all I can say is I had two different mechanics tell me they liked Eibach over H&R. The Edge rides and corners 100% better

No plasti dip. Ebay 9x3.5" ford replacement emblems and check out all your options. Unless you just need it to say Ford somewhere there are all kinds of cool machined pieces that are works of art IMHO.

As for some other modification ideas have you changed out any of the drab dull incandescent bulbs for some LEDs? That's a fairly easy project and not terribly expensive. Switchbacks on the front are excellent looking if you have a limited with the HIDs or if you have upgraded the headlights on another model.

  7. Im coming up to Atlanta this weekend. I'll throw some alerts your way! :yup: I don't know what you are doing this weekend but my wife is taking a training class for most of Saturday and I'll be looking for something to do. I'm not yet sure where we are staying on Friday night but I know for sure we are coming up that evening. I'll give you a call in the next couple of days and see if we can make some plans. By the way, we bailed on our plans to go to Cleveland a few weeks back so that is why you didn't hear from me.

  8. Any of you guys (or girls) here use an Passport Radar detector with Escort Live hooked to a smart phone? For those that do not and are interested, Escort makes both a hardwire and a cigarette lighter plug with a bluetooth interface that connects to your iphone or Android phone. Then you can run an App that both mimics the radar detector interface and also integrates all the users together whereby drivers can report speed traps, etc and you get alerts.

I'm just wondering if anyone on here uses the device and if so how many people are involved. My usual driving area is inhabited by approx. 150,000 people and I have only seen one alert posted by someone else my vicinity.

Also, anyone here own the Passport 9500ix or the 9500ci and if so does this thing rock or what?

  9. Andy,

Have you drawn up your plans for your audio setup? I have an idea in my head that looks like what I think you have planned but I drawing or something like that would really help me understand the plan a bit better if you care to share. I promise I won't copy. If anything at all I am going to have my box split, have the rest of the plastic tray cut out and then have a second 12" sub put in along with amping up the D-pillar speakers to get a little more mids and treble put in the back. Who knows? I've been known to do some pretty stupid, over-the-top stuff in my life.
