  1. I'm diggin the 2013 SHO wheels now
  2. Aside from wrapping, painting or swapping out to a Sport grille, are there any aftermarket alternatives out there for a different grille? For example the seemingly endless options on the Escalade, Yukon, etc. (I realize the Edge is still a bit 'new' in it's redesign compared to these 2). I think something like an Audi style grille would look great on the Edge. Thanks in advance.
  3. Has anybody gotten any solid answer to the OP's question? I'm also interested in going wide, staying on stock suspension. Ideally at least 9.5, 10" max. Probably stay with 20's though to keep the weight down over 22's. What about a staggered setup (adverse affects?) like this on a Sportage (9 in front, 10.5 in rear). For a Kia this rocks: http://www.topspeed.com/cars/kia/2010-kia-sportage-by-antenna-magazine-ar99369/picture380140.html
  4. +1 looks great! You wouldn't happen to know the weight difference between the OEM Limited 20's and the SHO 20's would ya?
  5. ^Yep, for the price I suppose you can't beat it.
  6. What has been your difference in gas mileage, roughly? I'm interested in moving to 22's as well - Ride quality and MPG are my main holdups. You've addressed concern #1 above. Thx
  7. +1, great job! What I like the most is the smallest part - the badges on the back look great blacked out. Curious how this product would stand up to the brutal AZ sun after a couple years, anybody know?
  8. Just got and installed my K&N drop in filter on my '11 Limited. Did anyone else have a tough time getting the airbox lid closed and secured with the 2 metal clasps? Obviously you want to be sure you have an airtight closure here.
  9. Very nice. Don't forget this is a rendering so the wheels may not come out exactly as pictured. That said, I DO like them and want 'em! Also annoying to see that they are making the front grille body colored as an upgrade/package. This is something I've wanted to do before I even got my Tri Coat Edge Limted - plastic chrome is nasty. But the Sport Grille with those wheels would look hot.
  10. Does the position of the return wire (aside from casting an unwanted shadow) have any bearing on the light output, beam pattern etc? ie is there a position it needs to be in for optimal output/beam pattern? I suppose I could just trim the tabs ALOT more so that it could fit in any way I wanted it to if that was the case. Just seems like I'm taking something that is a science and hacking away at it to make it fit, regardless of outcome.
  11. For the record, the 9006 bulbs in this kit, even with trimming, WILL NOT FIT 2011+ FORD EDGE correctly. The return wire shadow is a problem and is not solved by rotating the bulb. After hours of trying to make this work and calls with The Retrofit Source they simply said "We've made a note that this kit will not work with 2011+ Edges or Explorers." I'm stuck with removing the installed kit, holes in the back of my bulb covers and the cost of return shipping on a "premium, quality" product that they obviously didn't do their due diligence on before recommending it for our trucks. Lovely.

  13. Just installed The Retrofit Source Elite 9006 HID Kit in my '11 Limited. Being 9006 bulbs I did have to trim one tab on each bulb to fit in the OEM housings. That said, I believe the 'bar' that runs along the outside of the bulb is on the underside (or the top, I can't remember ) of the bulb, which is my best guess as to what's causing this? Problem is the bulbs seem to only go in one way and it was a bitch to get them in at all frankly, so I'm not sure it's as simple as 'just rotate them a little'. Fixes? From 13 feet away From 25 feet away From 25 feet away
  14. Thanks Dr. Before I go through the PITA and the skinned fingers again I wanted to be sure it could be done without trimming. So once seated your beam patters and cut off are good no issues?
  15. For those that went with the 9006 bulbs, did you get a correct fit and proper beam pattern? I'm have a helluva time trying to get my 9006 bulbs fit into the housing (from The Retrofit Source). I can get 2 to catch but not the 3rd. Its really difficult because I cannot see what I'm doing its all done blindly. Do I have to trim the bulb tabs on the 9006?
