  1. If the interior air temp sensor is added, can a 07 edge with manual climate control be converted to automatic? I realize the seat heat buttons won't do anything. Has anyone tried this or has pictures of the back of both units?
  2. Are there any good places (other than eBay) where I can buy a used 18" 10-spoke OEM wheel/tire? I'll be taking the edge on a long road trip and want to keep a full size spare with me.
  3. Where can I order the caps for the tire filler nipples? Preferably a place online. I'm looking for just stock looking ones, all those I have found on Amazon have been a pack of 1000 or something fancy.
  4. I have a 2007 edge with the BAMR roof. It seems to be slowing down when closing it. What type of grease should be added to the sunroof roller track and where can I buy it?
  5. Does anyone know where the door switch is that tells the car the door is ajar?
  6. When I said pull the handle to get it open I meant the interior handle; the same I would normally do to exit the car. Basically the door is acting normal; opening and closing operations are the same but the information center is now stating that the driver door is open during my entire drive and there is now a metal clanging noise inside the door as I drive.
  7. I live in cold climate and this morning my driver door was very frozen shut. I had to pull quite hard to get it open. Once inside I attempted to close my door, it did close but the driver door open message stayed in the information center my entire trip. Similarly, when coming home, the driver door open message stayed on and the interior lights stayed on for a minute or two. The door has a slight creaking noise inside the door now, almost as if something metal is now hanging. What did I break in the door that makes the car think it's open? The door closes, I have to pull the handle to get it to open. Is this something I can fix by taking the interior plastic panels off the door and replacing a component?
  8. I often connect my phone headphone jack to the center armrest AUX jack on my 2007 edge. The other day I heard a slight pop sound and the music stopped; the stock radio will no longer play music from phone. I tested the phone with headphones, it works. The problem is with the built in jack/ wiring or the head unit. Is there anyway I can test which is the culprit? Does the stock 2007 head unit have a AUX jack on the back I can test if I open up the dash?
  9. I thought so too but cars.com lists the 2010 as having 285 horsepower and the 2007-2009 as having 265 horsepower. Also, fueleconomy.gov lists the 2007-09 as having 17/24/19 fuel economy with the 2010 having 18/25/20 fuel economy.
  10. I read online that the 2010 Edge has 285 horsepower while the 2007-2009 has 265 horsepower. Is this true? If so, what changes were made in the 2010 to give it the extra power? Was the 2010 the year the 3.5L switched to variable valve timing on both the intake and exhaust cams?
  11. My Mother-in-law is planning to purchase a used Edge SE. She likes the SE because the manual seats go higher than the electric ones. She likes the look of the fog lamps on my SEL. Has anyone added the stock fog lamps to an SE? I found the fog lamp bezels online: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Replacement-Chrome-Fog-Lamp-Bezel-Bumper-Insert-LH-FOR-2007-10-FORD-EDGE-/370618765708?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AFord%7CModel%3AEdge&hash=item564a99918c&vxp=mtr There are also the fog lamps themselves and if I dig enough I bet I could find the OEM head lamp dash switch that pulls out for fog lamps. If anyone has attempted this, were you able to plug into the stock wiring harness or did you have to run separate wires? I know sometimes the wiring harness has connections for equipment that is not installed e.g., my Edge has a connection for back-up sensors although my vehicle isn't equipped with them. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
  12. Is it possible to install the Viper SmartStart on a 07-10 Edge? I like the idea of using my iPhone instead of adding another key fob to my key ring.
  13. Living in the north has it's pitfalls. Is there any difference in front rotors between the FWD and AWD 07-11 Edges?
  14. Does anyone have a picture of what the leak looks like?
  15. Thanks for the help guys. While I'm in there changing my pads and rotors, is there anything else I should do which will increase the life of the system, such as greasing or lubricating anything? Maybe some anti-seeze on some of the bolts?
  16. Thank you, that thread is very informative. I plan to buy stock rotors and Porterfield R4S pads for the front. Where is the best place to buy the stock front rotors?
  17. What do these ratings mean? Also, will any pad and or rotors give me significantly shorter stopping distances?
  18. I've started to hear slight grinding in the front when braking from about 20 mph down to 0. I think it's time to replace both the front rotors and pads. Where is a good place to buy these online? Are these rotors and pads significantly better than the stock units?
  19. I notice a little front vibration when driving. I'll replace the front rotors but not the pads. Are there any rotors that are better than the stock rotors or is it best to stick with the OEs?
  20. Hmm, so I should replace the rotors in the next 5000 miles? How do the pads look?
  21. These are photos of the front driver side. Should I worry?
  22. What is a good product for removing stains from cloth seats and embedded dirt from the leather steering wheel?
  23. Thanks Akirby. Is there a certain thickness of the pad that indicts there still is life? Can this be checked through the wheel openings?
  24. I've attached a picture of my front brake rotors on my 2007 sel. I noticed that the front rotors seem to have concentric rings on them, almost scratches, while the rears do not. Is this bad or does this mean it's time for replacement? Is there an easy way to tell if the front rotors or pads need replacement?
