  1. That's normal. I ordered a Limited and it said the same thing when I checked my VIN. It was a Limited when it showed up. They must not have internally changed the terminology.
  2. lol...I was told I couldn't take the head unit out. Bummer. Could have sold it on ebay
  3. Speaking of safety features, it is curious that not a single airbag went off. At any rate, I walked away without a scratch.
  4. Thanks for the support and comments, I believe everyone is okay (me the the semi driver). I think I'm still running on adrenaline. The Semi was in the middle lane and went into my lane (left lane) and beyond. Couldn't tell you why at this point. Not only did he merge into my lane, but also onto the shoulder. No warning at all. The shoulder is wide enough to drive on and let passengers in and out on both sides of the vehicle without interfering with traffic in the left lane. He pushed me into the concrete barrier. The bottom of the barrier is wider than the top, so I am speculating that my wheel caught the base and rode me up and over the barrier with applied pressure from his cab. The damage on the driver's side is much less severe than the passenger side. Few scratches, but my front driver side wheel shattered. It's my understanding the driver of the semi will be charged. I'm not sure that I have replacement coverage, but I'll let you know what happens. I managed to salvage my weather tech cargo mat, but couldn't get to the rest of the mats. lol.
  5. I waited longer for this car than I drove it. Bummer. Just thought I would share. It looks bad on the outside, but the inside held up pretty well.
  6. I am starting to notice this on my Edge too. Under a normal accelleration with RPM's at about 2000, there is a noise that occurs just under 40mph. It's brief and goes away above 40. I would describe it as a quiet howling noise. Like when you blow air into or over a pop bottle. It will get old quick. 2008 FWD Limited 2500 miles
  7. Wow...that better be excessive. There is no way I would pay for new tires that often. Are you peeling out every time you drive? You may need an alignment. :fan:
  8. Seems like a life safety concern. I'm not sure I would drive it anymore. Drop it off at the dealer ASAP. Heck, maybe they should tow it in for you. I like to err on the side of caution. I'm not sure what you have for a Lemon Law, but I would get that clock ticking right away. Maybe there is a "diagnostic" light show mode for QA purposes that wasn't deactivated. Who knows, but it shouldn't be your problem. Just be nice to the dealer. That's my 2 cents. ...and be sure to let us know how it goes.
  9. I like my Edge and there isn't anything I hate about it, but.... 1. I would like one touch close on the BAMR. 2. The sound system should be better, at least a graphic equalizer. Mere Bass and Treble controls just don't cut it for a "premium" audio system. Especially when they promote it with the SYNC system. My sound generally sounds muffled. 3. ....to be added later...pretty happy with the Edge.
  10. I would be skeptical. They may tell you that you have to qualify for every rebate to get $5,000 off. You could go in there and have it priced out just for fun. Nail down every cost up front. We had a dealer out hear who advertised "25% off New Fords". They had a pricing example: "MSRP-25%=Sell Price" I went in and they said they would not give me 25% off a New Ford Edge. They said the ad did not say "every" new Ford. On top of that, they said I had to qualify for a bunch of rebates to come close to (but not ever acheive) 25% off. I walked out. Thought about reporting them to the BB, but just moved on with life instead.
  11. Cool feature. I didn't see it in the Edge manual and I just tried it and it didn't work. Bummer.
  12. I've noticed something similar with my USB stick. It only happens when I unplug it and plug it back in. It's like it didn't make a good connection or something. It happened when I did the Sync version checker. I had to unplug the stick and plug it back in again. However, once it is recognized and left in, it always defaults to USB
  13. It's the Bionic Edge! As previously driven by Lee Majors. They have the technology. They can rebuild it. ....na-na-na-na. (I know it isn't funny that your Edge is having so many problems. It's just a crazy that they are going through all these motions with you.)
  14. Mine does not have this strip either. Kind of surprising. One of my friends pointed it out.
  15. I don't know if anyone caught the premiere of the new Knight Rider movie, but the bad guys were pursuing the new KIT in a Ford Edge!!! lol It looked like a 2007 Sage Edge with BAMR. :shades: The new KIT (a Ford Mustang Shelby GT) had to take the mountain roads to elude it. lol. I found that amusing.
  16. Ohio huh? I grew up in Wadsworth, OH. (near Barberton and Akron) As far as the doc fee goes, I won't sweat it as long as they provide good customer service down the road. Although it will be hard to build that trust back.
  17. On an ending note to this topic: My Moto Q (with Sprint) does pair as a generic phone. Woo-hoo!!! (°)(°) !!! :happy feet: The phone book downloaded with no problems. I have close to 300 contacts with multiple numbers, so it took a good 5-10 min. the first time. The guys at the dealership were impressed. The bluetooth works great. As soon as I start the car, my phone call transfers to the car's sound system with no problem. If I shut the car off, the call is routed through my phone again with no problems. Texting does not work. Bummer. The speech regonition is pretty good, but seems to work better at slower speeds and with no one else in the car. Possibly less road noise. (I am impressed wit the overall quietness of the ride though). I tend to speak quietly or with a trailing voice so that is something I'll have to work on. Also, with the amount of contacts I have, the system does get confused.
  18. At the time I ordered the Edge, the salesman had the doc fee of $85 cleary posted in his office. At the time I closed, the sign was gone and the doc fee was raised to $150. The manager tried to spin it as if it was the law. Well...it is the law. It is the law that that is the max fee he could charge. I didn't appreciate the spin his was putting on. He wasn't lying...he was giving truthful answers to a question that wasn't asked. Example: Me: Why I am I being charged $150 doc fee? (+ $25 for plates instead of temp tags) MGR: It's the law. It says so right here. -> (he points to a piece of paper that states that the max allowable doc fee is $150.) Me: ..but that's the MAX fee. It is not mandatory. When I ordered the car, you were charging a fee of $85. MGR: As of Jan 1st the doc fee was raised to $150. Me: Again...it is an OPTIONAL FEE. You can charge whatever you want. You could charge me $0 or $75. Why am I suddenly being charged the max fee? MGR: Because I am selling the car to you $400 below invoice. Me: So I am being penalized for negotiating a good price? It goes on like this with points and counterpoints. The MSRP was ~$36K and we are arguing about $65. So obviously it isn't entirely about the money, it is more about how he was trying to be sneaky and slide in an extra charge.
  19. My salesman called on Monday after I emailed him saying I noticed his dealer recieved a new shipment. He didn't know he had it until he went outside and looked for it. The closing is an interesting story that I will soon share once I get some time to type it out! The Edge looks sweet though! Really impressed! 2008 Limited FWD BAMF Nav Tow cargo mgt all weather mats Black with tan interior
  20. That's interesting. I purchased the Weather Tech floor liners and noticed that the rear liner on the passenger side doesn't fit quite right. It covers the bolts okay, but doesn't line up perfectly with posts from the front passengers seat. It is usable though.
  21. My dealer knew that too...said it was 1/14/08...so he was close. Follow this link and read the article. See the fifth paragraph... http://www.businessfleet.com/Channel/Vehic...es-Product.aspx Although the article is from January, the software is mentioned in Blueoval at least as far back as Sept. '07
  22. Are dealerships able to track the status of ordered vehicles through Ford's Vehicle Visibility website? I saw it mentioned somewhere and I am wondering what information this software provides to Dealerships. How long has it been around? I'm guessing since before Sept. of '07.
