  1. Although it's been more than a couple of years ago for me, I chose the 2012 Limited. The 'base' model of the Limited had all the options I wanted. And I specifically did not want the panoramic roof or navigation. The only options mine came with were roof rails, and what I remember as the convenience option - which was remote start, and a few other nice to haves. I also was specific that it had to be Tri-Coat White with Sienna leather. Except for the 'shift to park' situation, it's been trouble free for almost 60,000 miles, and still get compliments on it.
  2. Todd... No, I'm not. Took it to the dealer not long after I bought it, and they agreed that's what the problem was.
  3. I had the same issue with my 2012 Edge. It wasn't real loud, but I could definitely hear it at highway speeds. Turns out it was a loose wheel well liner. I seem to remember that someone here put me on to that.
  4. My 2012 Edge Limited has started doing the same thing. Have not yet taken it to the dealer. I googled the topic, and found this statement in a service bulletin. Also noted the same topic in an Explorer forum. "BCM 6535 - 2011 - 2013 Edge/ MKX/ Explorer ”Shift To Park”Message While In Park 2011 - 2013 Edge/ MKX/ Explorer “Shift To Park” message may be displayed with the shifter in Park if the shift cable is not correctly adjusted. Follow the shift cable adjustment procedure in the work shop manual section 307-05 to correct this condition. Remember that the shift cable adjustment is always done with both the shifter and transmission in Drive."
  5. Guy here... when I bought my 2012 Edge, the only color I would accept was the White Platinum Tri-Coat. I don't see color as being gender specific at all.
  6. My apologies, my Sienna Brown interior is in fact two tone. When I saw this post yesterday, I honestly didn't remember that it was two tone. I had to go look this morning, and it's exactly as in the pictures that Mark has posted. But with the other trim pieces that are also in black, I guess I just don't see the contrast as being that much of a distraction. FWIW, I've gotten tons of compliments on the overall color combination.
  7. As someone that has a 2012 white platinum tri-coat with the sienna brown interior, I may be a bit marginally biased, but I think it's the best looking color combinations out there. I had seen the combination on a dealer lot long before I made the decision to buy one. When I finally bought, that was the only one I would consider. The dealer didn't have any, and had to trade with with another dealer about 150 miles away. Regarding the comment about the black accents, there are black accents in the interior, such as part of the door panels, the dash, and maybe some other trim pieces, but none on the seats.
  8. Do the reasons that Ford pulled the update from SMR have to do with the installation only, or are there known issues with the updates it applies to MFT? The reason I ask is that I downloaded the update on Saturday, and the install process went fine - was even able to update my status on SMR to reflect the latest version. Don't know if it matters, but I do not have navigation on my Edge.
  9. Did the download from the original post in this thread, and could never get it to install. Noticed this morning that it's posted on SyncMyRide, so I downloaded from there, and the install went fine. The only thing I've noticed is that the temperature is in fact back in the center console. Yeah! (Easily impressed, aren't I!?)
  10. Yes, I've noticed the same thing with my 2012 Edge from day one. I thought about taking it in, but it seemed obvious to me that it was in fact just very sensitive to the slant of the road - either direction. I'm a high mileage driver, and already have almost 18,000 miles with no unreasonable wear on the tires.
  11. I've done just about the same thing for years with my vehicles, including my 2012 Edge with the 18" plastic/chrome, and I've seen no adverse reaction. The only things I do differently is that I use "Purple Power" which is somewhat of a generic version of "Super Clean". And instead of power washing them, I spray it on one wheel at a time, and brush them with a car wash solution.
  12. I have a 2012 Edge (December 2011), and I've encountered that same issue twice. I need to take my Edge to the dealer for something else (minor), so I'm going to have them check it out anyway. But I'm also curious how the reminder to run a health report is supposed to work. I have mine set to notify me every 5,000 miles. So about 500 miles away from that interval, I started getting the reminder. At first I pressed 'Remind Me Later', because I'm anal and wanted to wait until I was closer to the exact interval. Then I eventually got tired of the nag, and decided to run it anyway. But now that I'm past the interval, I'm still getting the nag. I never got the reminder under the old version of MFT, so I don't know if this is 'normal', or is this something that's now working quite right with the new MFT.
  13. I've just recently had the same thing start happening to me. It happens with a USB 16GB FAT32 flash drive, and an SD8GB card. Playing fine, and then all of a sudden I get the message that the drive is not recognized. For unrelated issues, just had the car into the dealer, and they verified the system checks out OK. BTW, I can still access my iPod OK.
  14. Finally got around to taking my Edge in. Left a note explaining that other owners have found the wheel well liners to be loose, causing the noise. But they either didn't read my note, or disregarded it. So they spent a whole day looking, testing, etc. And guess what they found it to be? Right, the wheel well liners were loose! Aaaaaaaaargh.
  15. Minor, but I wish they'd have left the outside temp somewhere on the home screen.
