  1. So far, I've used the 3m gloss black Di-Noc on each side of the center stack and on the trim piece located above the glove box. It looks awesome. Now I need to figure out how to remove the two trim pieces (same color as above the glove box) on each side of inst. panel. Looks like you have to remove trim around 'Start' button to get to the piece above it that I want to cover with carbon fiber. Worked on this for awhile but gave up before I broke something. I moved over to the left side and tried to remove the panel that has 3 switches in it so I could get to the piece above it that I wanted to cover. Gave up on that side also. Anyone with tips on how to remove these trim pieces? I sure would appreciate it.

Nice sound. I wonder what it sounds like inside???? I really love my sound system and would hate it if the muffler competed with it... Any comments on the sound inside would be appreciated. I put a Gibson system on my GMC Sierra and I'm gonna have to put some sound deading material inside the cab. It does sound sweet but.
  3. The easiest way to do this is with Palsti-dip. Check it out at http://dipyourcar.com/ I've done this on my 2012 edge sport. I painted the chrome strip that goes above the head lamps and lip of hood. Really easy to do. Lots of related video on youtube. Just search for plasti-dip. Good luck.
  4. My 2012 Sport came with the tux black grill. I ordered 3 new pieces from ford and had them painted the white tri-coat(like the rest of the car). I removed the Ford emblem in the center of the grill and seperated the logo piece from the chrome piece. I painted the chrome piece with black plasti-dip and put a plasti-dip clear coat on that. I also painted the chrome around the hood with black/clear plasti-dip. Makes for a very good look. Will post pics as soon as I put the grill back on.
  5. Plasti-Dip makes a color called Smoke. The more coats you add the darker the chrome appears. This way you can control the tint of the chrome all the way to Black. I'm going to try this on the silver strip that is on the sides of my center stack. While I'm waiting for the 'Smoke' I'm going to try to wrap these two pieces with Carbon Fiber Vinyl just to see what it looks like.
  6. I bought the 3 piece inserts and had the local body shop paint them White (same color as the car). The White Pearl Tri-Coat paint cost $120 a pint (ouch)! Pulling the grill off is easy. Just follow these instructions: http://mechanixtrix.com/Article/Article.aspx?ArticleId=405 I popped the black inserts off in just a few minutes. All white grill on the Sport looks cool. I'll post pics after I put the grill back on. Also painted the chrome above the headlights and hood edge with Plasti-Dip. That was real easy. Waiting for the Plasti-Dip clear to arrive so I can finish.
  7. I used the Plasti-Dip spray. It is so easy and it will peel off.
  8. Well I didn't do them myself... but yes you have to dismantle them and re-glue them. As for the size, not sure. I am sending them back out to another company to have something better done. They will take pictures of the complete job and have brighter LED style halos. Who did your lights? I'm scared to bake them also.
  9. Awesome job in photoshop... how about a pic with just the lower black piece white? I bought the kit that has all three pieces and was going to paint just the bottom piece. Your pic with all three has me 'undecided' now. I would appreciate it. Oh yes, white is the color. cozzz Email me Here you go - quick and dirty version. OEM: Custom:
  10. Thanks for all your info. I have the identical car with all wheel drive. I have been looking forward to customizing it. All your 'how to videos' have helped a lot.
  11. I did the same thing with my Edge Sport. Yours looks great.
