  1. Nah, I don't recall right off hand... I wanna say it was P0605 or some combo of that. I'll see if I can talk to the tech in the near future. You know, if you buy mine you get a substantial discount! 25% off, hahaha
  2. sounds a little janky to me for a very minimal gain.
  3. AK. I told Fred that I only wanted the 91 octane tune. I have a 1000 gallon tank that our farm uses and we put 91 in it so I never really fill at a station. Everyone is a bit squeamish about the 87/89 octane tunes when all the tuner does is take a couple degrees of timing out of the tune and this can be done by the end user so it shouldn't make people to uncomfortable but I guess it does. Thanks though.
  4. So you don't think they could have possibly changed their programming in 2 model years? Why don't you try it on an '07 Edge since that is what this forum is for? There is no reason for me to make it up...
  5. Wrong info Blazin... I was in my edge with the ford tech when I programmed and unprogrammed it. There is a code they can see on their scanner that it has been tampered with, whether or not the tune is still in there. Fakesnake, you can adjust the tire size on your programmer, just say yes when it asks if you want to adjust parameters before you program the vehicle. PS. someone needs to make a sound financial decision and purchase my tuner!!!!
  6. Yep. You can adjust the tune yourself when you put it in the car. It asks you if you want to modify the parameters. Just drop the global timing by two degrees and you will be good...! I'm sure someone else on here can either confirm or educate me if i'm wrong but I would think if you retard timing two degrees that it would be just fine. 1 degree retard for 89 octane, 2 for 87, and 3 for 85.
  7. I think the ride is about the same and the handling is better, not so much body roll with the 20" and suspension.
  8. All ecoboost motors will be Turbo, not supercharged.
  9. Putting my X3 with my 91 octane tune from EVO up for sale. Nothing wrong with it, just considering a move to a warmer climate so I want a vert! $300 shipped... Save $100 PM me or email jared@summitfarms.biz
  10. Yes, if they put their scanner on it they will see a code whether you take the tune out or not... Most of the time they are fine with it unless you blow your motor (won't happen with this tune 100% sure, unless you alter it somehow)... You can take the tune out and put the tune in as many times as you want... There is a limit on how many times you can use the tuner to tune other vehicles you own... If you sell your Edge/MKX and get a tune for your next vehicle you can use the same tuner... You can use it up to 5 times.
  11. Nope, never seen an increase in mileage on those other vehicles. I have seen an increase in power but not MPG. I'm talking a Ford V-10, an 03 cobra (610whp) and two 6.0 diesels. Mileage went down just a tad but power went way up so I guess you could say that the motor is way more efficient but still no gains except on the 4 and 6 cylinders.
  12. Fred actually tuned his wife's on the street (with an A/F bung welded in the exhaust pipe to monitor A/F levels) which is better than the dyno for real world challenges. Yes you won't get the hp/tq calculation but you can put a gtec on the windshield and get pretty darn close with that (for the hp/tq reading). This is only the second vehicle that I have ever seen an increase on from a tune. None of my trucks have done it, nor my cobra. My MKX and my Escape are the only ones ever to gain on MPG, that's why I'm posting it. It's out of the ordinary.
  13. Ford doesn't want to take the 3.5L motor to its full potential right out of the box. There has to be room for a few years of increased horsepower to until the next new motor comes out. Another thing to think about is warranty. Ford wants as few warranty claims as possible so lower power equals less breakage. bbf- I'm sure Fred would send you one with a money back guarantee. Why don't you just try one and see what you think before you come on here with your incorrect statements pertaining to Edge and MKX.
  14. You have tried pushing down on the seat controller right? The seat moves up, down, back, forward, tilts up and down as well. Sorry for stating the obvious but you never know. My buddy that is 6'5" drove my edge with no problems.
  15. did you check your sync manual? I think they are in there.
  16. Ontheedge. Congrats on getting a Tundra that has way more serious problems than a 7 sec pull to the right. Hope you are happy with 14MPG also. There are only a few people on this forum bitching about pulling and over 160k Edge/MKX on the road. I think that is an acceptable percentage. STFU please.
  17. I think it will trickle down into the Edge and MKX but not until 2010.
  18. Nope. Pretty easy for me. side note: If you want more aftermarket stuff just go to www.evoperform.com and pick up a tuner from Fred. You won't believe the difference a tune makes on this vehicle.
  19. How big a mileage hit would the "performance tunes" negatively affect fuel mileage? I've had my tune for 6 months and on the performance mode I gained about 3mpg. How much improvement in mileage does the "economy tune" provide? I can't help you here as I've only had the performance tune in mine. Are the tunes compatible with the 2008 FWD model, or does AWD impact the process? I'm sure he can set it up for either. All he needs is your computer calibration code. Would this void the vehicle warranty in any way? Depends if you have a tight ass dealer. Generally, a tune won't void your warranty. If I took the vehicle into the dealer for servicing, would they detect the tweaks, and would it be an issue? They would if you left the tune in the vehicle. You will get a handheld tuner and will be able to remove the tune to take it in for service. I agree that it's hard to feel 25hp but holy crap this vehicle on a tune is a whole different driving experience! Don't hesitate on this mod! You won't regret it.
  20. Wouldn't hold your breath dude. They've been out for a year and we barely got the X3 to work. Just sell your X2 on ebay for 250 and buy an X3 for the edge.
  21. Do it now Dave.. Even if your MPG doesn't go up, you don't ever need to replace the filter and will save money on filters alone.
  22. good news. Drove about 100 miles after install yesterday and just from that short trip it looked like we were getting about 1.5-2.0 mpg better than usual. 70mph driving saw an average of 27.5-28.0 mpg and 60mph driving saw 30! Both trips were with cruise on 70 on the way there and 60 on the way back 25miles each way. With town driving factored in we averaged 24.6 for the day and normally we are in the 21-21.5 range. Don't expect to much of a seat of the pants power increase though. It's not noticeable.
