  1. Just installed the replacement relay cube and that did the trick. The fog light on the same side ended up just being a little loose in the connection...

I did order the projector retrofit kit from TRS and a few other build materials as well...was able to find a cheap, new set of headlights off eBay so if everything comes in by next week, I'm hoping to have the new headlights completed by end of October.

  2. I've been messing around with a lighting issue on the Edge now for about a week...my driver's low beam is not working (I have HIDs btw) and the passenger's side runs fine. I have a HD relay that has passenger running off of that, Driver's side is coming directly from stock power and relay. Early last week, I cleaned all connections and that seemed to help for about a day, then it was back to the same old issue. I have to try to fire the lights about 5-7 times before the driver's side finally comes on. BTW, I've replaced driver's side ballast with brand new and also switched bulb from other side. TRS is sending a new HD relay to see if that helps (I doubt it).

Since then, I noticed 2 days ago that now the driver's side fog light is out (passenger still works). I'm going to check that today but there's no way that it's burnt out...It's an LED setup that only 1 year old...

So does anyone have any ideas? I'm about to check the fuses but to my knowledge, there aren't separate fuses for the left and right side so I'm stumped...any help is appreciated.

  3. Got the Edge back from the gas tank recall. Everything seems good. Didn't have an issue before so no difference that I can report...did notice that after a complete fill-up, there was a message that "calibration complete"...I'm guessing that has to deal with the fuel level sensor? I didn't get to speak with my service rep when I picked it up so I wasn't told anything. But all went well so no complaints.

  4. Had the rotors and pads replaced yesterday, which was much needed. Also had brake fluid flushed as I'm sure it hadn't been done in a very long time...also had Ford inspect for gas tank recall since I have an '08. The service rep told me that in Ohio, they have been instructed to now replace any tanks (and assoc. parts) since the parts are now more abundant. So the parts should be at dealer in a few days and then I'll drop off for install...I haven't had any problems but I'm not going to turn down a free, brand-new replacement on a car that's 8 years old ha

  5. Finally got the TPMS reset! I found a tip on a F150 forum that stated when you switch between wheels after awhile, that the battery in other sensors may go into "hibernation". So I followed steps to wake them up haha so here they are...

-Fill tires up to recommended pressure

-Release pressure in all tires to 15-20 psi lower than recommended (I went from 35 to 20 psi)

-Wait minimum 5 minutes before refilling back up to recommended psi

-Train tires using key cycle and brake pedal method w/ learning tool (I placed learning tool directly below valve stem and had to move it around a couple inches)

Worked perfectly and now no more light or annoying noise for me! Hope this may helps others down the road.

  6. Have the same problem on mine. Stumped dealership and my fav service shop. They both say the batteries are fine, they relearned them with no problems etc etc etc. I keep thinking the spare tire could be an issue, but haven't tested that theory yet. Unless the TPMS module itself is to blame, maybe?

Well it's good to know I'm not the only one with this issue...I've read it comes and goes for others but mine is constant. I'm just confused as to why it was fine for 2 days of city driving and then decided to come on randomly...I may have NTB run a sensor check (just to see if they respond back) when they do the final alignment on the wheels. I'll update with my answer, may not be till this weekend or so.

I've also heard some say that TPMS sensors can go bad around 100k but these are sensors installed in wheels just over a year ago so they shouldn't be bad already. I guess we'll see....I don't mind the light, I just hate that annoying chirp at startup

  7. How did the studs break? Were the winter wheels not sitting right? Better make sure the KMCs are torqued properly! Ugh.

Not exactly sure...seems to be a mixture of rust and salt from winter and also a possible over-torque from a shop when rotating wheels. It's all good now. Local mechanic saved me a few hundred bucks off of NTB quote and I was able to get outer tie rods done at the same time. Everything is running smooth now.

Except, now the TPMS light is on...no code is thrown so that threw me off...and I've tried the brake pedal and hazard light method to try to initiate reset method. Anyone rest TPMS sensors on an 08?

  8. Another option is to get secondary pieces sent to your AZ guy. He wraps them and sends them to you. Install and sell original equipment on EBay.....

    Or something like that.

I could try that....the original problem is I'm unsure of how to remove the center silver part of the stereo dash (and there doesn't seem to be an answer online either) as we have discussed this in another thread as well...If I could remove that easily, then I would have no hesitation to take on the wrap job myself. I honestly may ask the audio techs at Best Buy (they have done a stereo install for me before) if they know of any method to easily remove that trim...I plan on getting a NAV/audio upgrade done in the Edge at BB in a month or so, so maybe they will feel inclined to help me out.

Silver part I'm talking about is the one in the attached picture.

If anyone knows how to remove, please give any advice

  9. I'm wondering if there is a forum member in the Cleveland, OH area that is experienced with vinyl wrap...I've been trying to find companies that will wrap my stereo dash and plastic trim by the shifter but they all want to do a bigger job. I'm not confident enough to take this task on and unfortunately the only person I trust to do it is in AZ so I'm out of luck...

If anyone would be interested (or knows anyone who could do it), send me a message. I would provide the wrap and would pay for your time.

    Thanks

  10. Old post, just hoping someone had figured out how to get the silver panel off without taking the whole thing off?

I haven't heard anything or seen any videos on it...going to ask my buddies in the auto body/audio industry to see if maybe any of them know...I'll let you know if I find something
