  1. Thanks guys, yeah they did replace the grill section completely along with the hood as I mentioned before but I honestly believe they just didn't have the skills to not have the horizontal groove area pull up on the corners a bit. They also gave me a discount on some tint but then there is dirt under that too. So I was uncomfortable taking the car back to them. I'll get it replaced after moving back to San Diego in a few months. I'm not near bothered by it enough to want to remove the film but I wanted to make others aware of it when pricing it out. If you point that area out ahead of time you might be able to negotiate for a bit of a discount if they have trouble with it.
  2. nope its not high beams, that's blue. it's just headlights either auto or manual on. Maybe we should all start taking pics of the dashboard and see what the differences are.
  3. Hmmm strange it wouldn't be standard. To answer Dingo's question that I took that pic when I parked the car in my well lit underground garage, it was idling and I manually turned the lights to on, then the indicator came on. I also notice it on when the lights automatically come on at night. I ordered the car in September 2012 and took delivery in November 2012.
  4. Hey memory is not that bad after all, I have a green indicator light on the console, pic attached with yellow circle around it.
  5. From the album: 2013 Edge Sport

pic of 2013 Headlight indicator, apparently this isn't on the older Edge models.
  6. Thanks, everyone. Yeah I did read that "Recirculation may turn off automatically in some airflow modes to reduce fog potential" in the manual but thought there might be some trick. Guess I'll just have to live with it. I won't thread jack myself with the battery saver thing but it's being quite the pain in the azz recently, but at least I'm not as bad as this guy. http://youtube.com/watch?v=iaa_vPQ7OCs
  7. I have a 2013 Edge Sport and I believe I have a green headlight indicator when my lights are on. Now you guys have me doubting myself, just dropped it off to get a hitch installed so I can't check but I'm pretty sure it's there. I'll pick it up tomorrow if no one else updates this thread I'll post a pic or admit my failing memory.
  8. Body shop guy told me they are 1200 per wheel\tire both mounted and balanced from Ford. hope you have insurance, ha.
  9. Hi FR200Focus, Yeah I'll probably do a few things to it nothing major, mostly for looks. I'll post some pics when done. Forums didn't notify me of comments on here so I'm a bit late.
  10. Hi doesn't anyone know of a way to over ride the, to me, incredibly annoying tendency for the recirculate interior cabin air from shutting itself off? I guess Ford thinks drivers are too dumb to understand what to do when fog begins to develop on the windows, even though until recently every car made didn't override your settings. I have a 40 min commute and sometimes 2 to 3 times during it the recirculate light will go off on the my ford touch system. I usually find this out when the car fills with cigarette, dead animal, or diesel stink, which is of course too late to avoid the smell. I do not have the system set to AUTO, just air coming through vents. I'm probably doing something wrong though. Also I believe the system should be set to remember that I left it on recirculate instead of making me turn it on at the beginning of every car ride. This is one of the few frustrating things I've found with the Edge in so far a very quality car. Well that and "Battery Saver - System Off" crap but I'm hoping that will be solved with an update and master reset. Thanks.
  11. I'm having a less than perfect experience with the Xpel bra. I don't want to go into the back story or drop names but suffice it to say it doesn't look as good as I thought it would after paying 800+taxes. The shop is a 3M certified installer and has lots of experience and are nice guys, but still there are noticible pieces of dirt under the bra (up close) in some places, "rough" areas that don't look as good as fresh paint would, and the hardest part for them seemed to be the horizontal groove in the cross pieces of the grill. The film pulls away a bit and then looks white-ish. THe shop did take the car back in and redid the hood and grill and it looks better but still isn't as good as I thought it would look. Don't get me wrong it's not awful by any means. To be honest though, if I could back in time I'd just keep the 800 bucks probably. Just my experiences. Example pic,
  12. I got the rubber mats so I don't need the stock ones, if anyone wants the stock carpet ones for free come get them. about 25mins outside philly. If you want to pay for shipping I guess I could ship them in the same box I got the new ones in. But that will be a bit of a pain in the azz. Ha. If no one wants them, wouldn't be surprised I'll just toss 'em.
  13. Hi All, I'm new at using anything but the ubiquitous carnuba turtle wax at the auto parts store, but just picked up the below products from detailedimage.com as I wanted to get some decent protection on the new Edge. Question about the sealant though, can that be put on a 3M clear bra? It also has a clearcoat on it and the installer said 3M recommends 30 days post installation before putting a synthetic wax on it. Also can the microfiber towels be washed and reused or are they supposed to be disposable after one use? Thanks 1 Poorboy's World Spray & Wipe (S&W) - 16 oz (w/PBW Blue Trigger) 1 Menzerna Power Lock Polymer Sealant - 16 oz 1 303 Aerospace Protectant - 16 oz 1 Meguiar's Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel 3 pack - 16" x 24" 1 DI Microfiber Applicator Pad
  14. Hello All, So I had my Edge for less than a week and I have already experienced one MFT lockup. Pulling over and shutting off the car fixed that, hopefully reoccurances will be less versus more. I'm in IT so I understand software will lockup so we'll see. Anyway a separate problem that I"ve read others having is long "Loading..." screen when you browse Sirius channels and select Browse all Sources as opposed to viewing them by categories. I was just exploring the MFT and tried that, and that screen became stuck there for 3 days. Even after turning the car off and on over that time, of course. I could use the MFT fine, Sirius direct tune, presets, etc. but when I went back to Browse Sirius channels that same loading screen would come up. So I decided to start pushing buttons until I could stop that from happening, below is what seemed to force a reset of the browsing to categories vs. all sources, although I can't 100% say that for sure as the problem could have just resolved itself on it's own while I was playing around. Go to Sirius Options Set Category for Seek/Scan select a random category and then go back to the one you want. Then when you go back to Sirius...Browse...it should be back to by category. Maybe if someone else has this problem they can try those steps and see if they help. I'm too much of a wuss to try and lock mine up again.
  15. UPDATE: Hi everyone, just to close this out I wanted to say I ended up deciding to keep the stock wheels as I just wasn't convinced I was going to get the look I wanted with other wheels, as well as concerns around the extended warranty claims possibly being rejected. I know you can argue with the dealer about such things and probably get it covered but you know at this point in my life I want to introduce as little hassle as possible. This isn't a negotiating tatic or anything I'm just going to keep the wheels and limit my mods to things like tint, plasti-dip and such. Sorry for the hassle. Should have waited till I got the car before posting. -1 internets for me.
  16. Looks like no one knows. I'm "off the fence" and picked up my 2013 Sport yesterday and logged into syncmyride.com owner to owner forums and there is a lot of bitching about the selective models that have applink and those that don't. Some people are saying that even the Lincoln's don't have applink, and Ford gives no good reason as to why that is the case.
  17. Hi wondering why the applink ability isn't on the Edge? Wouldn't that be a software feature on the MFT system and not hardware/vehicle specific? Ideas? Link http://www.ford.com/technology/sync/features/sync-app-link/
  18. That's pretty sharp, you don't see many flat painted cars on the road. Curious if the running boards cut down on the ground clearance too much? I could see a California speed bump taking those things off with a vengeance. Also maybe tinting the tail lights would finish out the look as well.
  19. THanks ls973800 I had no idea that was the case, I should have been more clear that I was just guessing. The one I ordered is a 2013 though and I'll make that clear in the for sale post.
  20. I would think the SPORT rims would fit on any Edge of the same body style, which apparently doesn't change much. PS An update I have had my Edge Sport on order since Sept. 15th and expect delivery in early November. So I'll be posting here and probably ebay to sell the wheels soon enough...
