  1. You can scratch blueovalforums off your list of places to get a pin from. Nobody has been given any over the past month. I payed under the X-plan even as a Ford Dealership employee. -Dan
  2. Well, put it this way... If the Edge and similar drivetrain components sell well, the aftermarket will embrace us more. Final drive ratios would be appreciated for going to larger wheels and tires. -Dan
  3. Alright, please dont steer this thread into a pissing match. This thread is for the sharing of ideas of what can be done to our cars. -Dan
  4. Oops, I just checked the tire specs and they are indeed 245/60-18. My bad... This means that I can move on to a 285/35-22 without issue or I can try to squeeze those 305's (305/30-22 now) if there is an all-season tire out there in that size. In a 30 profile, I highly doubt it though. :P -Dan
  5. Im looking into getting these wheels for my MKx... They'll fit apparently but Tirerack "recommends" an awefully narrow tire in my opinion and overall the height is shorter than stock. I have a 265/60-18 on the 18x7.5" stockers right now (at all 4 corners) and it definitely needs some more tire in the rear. I would really like to mount a 305/35-22 for the rear and perhaps keep it a bit more narrow in the front with a 265/40-22 to keep the profiles of the tires (front to back) looking the same. I believe there may just be enough room to fit a 305 out back by using this calculator I found online... http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp First though, do you folks think this may be the right style of wheel for the "bling" of the MKx? -Dan
  6. its gloss painted black on that spoiler, its something Lincoln is doing. -Dan
  7. Even though fuel economy seems to be the big issue on everybody's minds now-a-days there are still quite a few out there who just dont care about it as much as the idea of being able to go faster, especially in a 4400 vehicle. I have been inquiring around about the interest in creating performance enhancing products for the Duratec 35 and of course, more specifically with the Edge/MKx. I can see a wide interested in Short Ram intakes and some exhaust options coming out soon enough along with retunes of the stock PCM. Other typical "bolt-ons" could become available as well, like under-drive pullies for example. I have sent in a request for R&D through Turbonetics for a custom turbo kit to be developed and they expressed their interest in another 30 days. This would be helpful across all the vehicles to use the Duratec 35. I only know of lowering springs from H&R springs to be currectly available and Eibach should be following suit soon. Are there any others on this forum interested in anything down this alley? -Dan
  8. I have owned it for a full week and one full tank of gas. This little "truck" is very much not a truck, its got the drive of a sedan. Its noticably more quiet when compared to it's Ford counter-part and definitely more upscale. If you feel like the Edge is missing the luxury you are looking for the Lincoln is what you are needing. I already knew what to expect as far as the drive feel since I sell Fords for a living and just knew the MKx would fit me like a glove. The brakes in either vehicle are nowhere as bad as some make it out to be, the pedal feel just needs some getting used to. "Whoa" stops feel safe and comfortable. The gas mileage is close to that of my 05 Mustang, when it was stock, and those advertised numbers are very doable. Just keep your foot out of the pedal more often. You should be cruising in this crossover anyways, no need to go fast when you can look so cool going slow. Im one of the first in the Bay Area to own one and its getting noticed a way a Lincoln should and it makes me feel like Im on the edge of the turn-around for this great car company. -Dan
  9. I am going to answer "NO" on this one, there is no reason to move a Diesel into this crossover. The duratec 35 is good for 300 hp, plenty for our needs, and the Navistar engines wont fit under the hood or forward of the firewall. -Dan

    MPG??????

Easy tip for better fuel economy. Take your foot off the pedal thats on the floor... and notice your fuel mileage get way better. -Dan
  11. that isnt false advertising, those pictures were taken before the vehicle was even released from the gates. Materials can change throughout production. You may find this sales brochure misleading but it isnt false advertising. Deal with it, it shouldnt be a deal breaker. -Dan
  12. The dealer should have given you those items, in fact, the salesperson should have gone over the books, keys and did another walk-around of the vehicle. Go ask your salesperson for your headphones, you are owed them @ no cost. -Dan

  14. Im still waiting on my MKx, only 2 weeks off now. I have time to get the tune. -Dan
  15. just hit the people up on blueovalforums.com -Dan
  16. I hope your not posting that the Edge gets only 12-13mpg cause that would be a ignorant statement to make. My mustang on the other hand does but thats when I have my foot down on the pedal for a large majority of the time. -Dan
  17. I predict late availability on 08 Edge MKx models, like October/November of this year.
  18. Have you had Torrie change anything in your tune since first getting it? Any changes in the performance and gas mileage? -Dan
  19. Thanks for the help so far and Im sorry to hear that your being layed off. If you are using Conceps to track VIN info, can you help me figure it out so I can help everybody around here with their tracking needs? I work at a Ford Dealer so hopefully I can obtain the Lincoln info too. -Dan
  20. please keep the same topic in one thread, its rediculous to read over the page and see the same thing, thread after thread. Please stop starting new threads to find out the same information, either piggyback off one that has already gone more of a page or PM the guy direct for status. We are just wasting space. Admin, please create a sticky or something. -Dan
  21. I guess you dont know how much more money you are saving by getting only 1 or 2 miles more per gallon of gas. If, for example, you drive the average of 15,000 miles a year, thats about 1250 per month. If you drive a car that gets 17mpg and the price of your gas costs $3.099 and you want to know how much you would save on a monthly basis with a car that gets only 2 miles per gallon better, you are saving $23.986 traveling over the same distance. If you want the difference over the mile its much smaller @ less than 2 cents ($.0192) Stop complaining, gas mileage isnt all that the media cracks it up to be, especially when you consider the sometimes higher cost of those more fuel efficient vehicles. -Dan
  22. Tracking help please... :hyper: 2LMDU88C07BJ14768 Thanks! -Dan
