Back up camera zoom- did it change in gen 2 3.5.1? I thought there was multible steps in the zoom in prior versions. I pressed the zoom today in the back up mode camera & it only zoomed once & wwas way in to piont of not effective.
I also remeber that there were several zoom levels.
Furthermore, earlier, there was also a cancel button when you shifted to Drive (if you had the Rear Camera Delay feature on), now they removed it.

At sync y ride I wasn't able to see an available update to 3.5.1, and discovered in the FAQ. (Bold text is my addition)
I'd like to point out that this update requires me to monitor the (sync my ride) forums for the release of a replacement SD card. Why must I monitor Fords forums for an update? They know that I have a vehicle with navigation, and should send me a new SD card if it's required for an update to fix their broken MFT system.
<vent>This MFT system STYNCS and I've got a wife, family, and friends who have experienced the system and it's problems first hand.</vent>
Someone who didn't receive the update e-mailed support and got a reply:
Dear XXX,thank you for your email in regards to updating sync.
There is a known issue with the 3.5.1 update not showing up for download for all customers. Our web team is working to resolve this issue, we apologize for any inconvenience.
Sincerely,
lindsay

As for your case, having Navigation, you can go to your dealer to perform the update & get your SD card from them.

Have you ever changed the Cabin Air Filter? Its behind the Golve box, it might cause the fan to work harder if it is blocked. Just a thaught.

The 3.5 MFT/MLT is now available at SyncMyRide:
Today, we are proud to announce the release of a new software update, available immediately for many SYNC® with MyFord Touch®/MyLincoln Touch ™ systems. This new software will provide the following enhancements to your current system:• Return of the outside air temperature to the 8 inch display
• Updated phone pairing process
• Enhanced voice and screen destination entry for SD Card Navigation (if equipped)
• Simplified voice commands for music
• Enhancements to voice recognition
• Updated SYNC/device compatibility
Please note that the update is not yet available for MyFord Touch/MyLincoln Touch vehicles equipped with Navigation. For these vehicles, the software update requires a complimentary replacement SD card. We plan to have your replacement SD cards, as well as the new software update, ready for you in January. We will make an announcement in the forums when you are able to request your replacement SD card. Please be aware that if you perform the update without the replacement SD card in a Navigation-equipped vehicle, your Navigation system will be inoperable.
If your vehicle is not equipped with SD Card Navigation, you can log in and check for updates now.
We look forward to sharing an enhanced MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch experience with all of you.

What he said, in addition, the Perimeter Alarm will sound your horns & flash the lights if any door, liftgate or hood is opened without unlocking the vehicle using the IA (Intelligent Access) fob or the keypad.

In my 2011 MKX, I remember the screens would be on, but they would have some kind a white "Flow" image, kind of like the screens are white near the speedometer and get gradualy darker on the oppisite sides.
-
The center screen only. Console buttons remain on.

To keep the camera on when shifting back to drive is a feature that can be turned on in the vehicle settings of the MFT screen. The camera will remain on until you reach a speed of about 5-10 mph.
Before the 3.5.1 update, there used to be a cancel button to cancel the feature when you shifted to drive (a one time cancel), but with 3.5.1, there is no cancel button.
-
In the V3.5.1 update they added an "Off" option for the Display so you can have it completely off. It comes back on by touching the display of the Sync voice button on the steering wheel.

Found a new feature in the V3.5.1 update! You can turn off the MFT display under Display Settings.
To turn it back on, simply touch the screen or right side steering wheel 5-button controls.
And found a missing feature! If you have the rear Camer reverse delay (that keeps the camera on on drive until you speed), the button for "cancel" is gone. Now you HAVE to speed to dismiss the Camera!

Happy to hear things went well.

Good news, I hoped, but unfortunantly since the article states "Version 3.5", it means its the same update already available at dealers since early November (Version 3.5.1)! So don't get your hopes high, its a little improvement above version 3.2.2! There are already several threads discussing the upgrade.
As for warranty, in March 2012 a TSB (CSP-12M01) already extended the warranty to 4 years for Fords & 5 years for Lincolns, so does this extend it a further a one year?

Name the files in Alphabatical order and put them in one folder, then using the browse button in Radio screen, browse to the folder and select the first choice, its "play" or "play all". This way usually plays them in alphabatical order in my MKX.

Thanks for telling us the story, atleast if someone faces the same issue, this would help him.

There is a link for the update but it needs a new A4 nav card. It seems that it speeds thing up a bit for people that have installed it.
Thanks for the link. Will try it soon.

They should work fine. But remeber that 20" wheels will have a harsher ride compared to 18" wheels.

thanks omar! im going to forward this to them and hopefully this helps. im going to drive another one today and get an appointment. i though it was new for '13 and thought that might be why the tech was unsure of this function, as the previous gen's had the M mode.
edit: i made an appointment for Fri. morn. i'll follow up here when i know more.
Good luck and Keep us updated.

Gust & bimmer848, your cars apparently act similar to 2011 & 2012 Edges where they did have an "M" instead of "S" in the gear shift indicators. The "Sport" mode was introduced in 2013 & as per the manual, should operate like what members OnEdgeinMA & akirby described.
I believe its that your cars, though 2013 models, are programmed with 2012/2011 softwares & hence the way they operate. It would be nice though if we can program our 2011 to get the "Sport" mode.
Edit: Sport mode is mentioned in the Product Sheet for the 2013 Edge under "New and Notable" (2nd point).

TPMS - where can I read the tire pressure?
in Wheels & Tires
Posted
So called "Direct" TPMS have Sensors in each tire that would wirelessly send data to the vehicle with information. Some vehicle have "Receivers" at each wheel well to collect the data, in which it is simple for the vehicle's PCM to know which wheel it is. Other vehicles (Fords included) receive the wireless Data from all four (4) sensors through one receiver (usually the same receiver of the Keyless remote), hence the vehicle needs to learn which sensor is for which tire & in case of tire rotations, it should be re-learned. Apparently, Ford chose the easy way by just complying to minimum law requirement of providing just a "Warning Light", which is better than nothing, but could have easily been turned to a much more useful feature by means of clever engineering without added equipment cost!
