This weekend, I am undertaking the project of detailing the Edge. As it sits, there are the following issues:
- Light Swirling from dealer and other washes
- Couple of spots on the carpet and seats
One thing I do know about Ford's paint is that they use a soft clearcoat. This is a plus in that paint correction will be easier. However, using too aggressive a pad/polish combo will yield undesired results. With that said, this is what I will be using:
- Ultimate Detailing Machine (Basically a Random Orbital Polisher)
- Sonus SFX Yellow and White Pads
- Optimum Polish
- Klasse All In One
- Klasse Sealant Glaze
- Polycharger Wax Booster
- Folex Carpet and Upholstery cleaner
- 303 Aerospace Protectant
- Autoglym Glass Polish
- Clay Bar
- Chenille Mitt
- Detailing brush
- Painter's tape to mask off edges and areas I don't want to buff (e.g. Weatherstripping)
- A whole lot of microfiber towels
- Stoner's Invisible Glass
- Eagle One Wheel/Tire cleaner
I will have before, during, and after shots of this process.
