  1. Saw two of them and sat in a Limited. Don't think the wife and I are abandoning the Edge for one.
  2. I am in the Valley as well. Mine seems to work well once I get the hot air pumped out. But it's wierd that the glove compartment being open plays a factor in better airflow.
  3. The theory regarding the in-cabin air filter seems quite plausible and I will examine that when I take it in Saturday.
  4. Even though it's a wild guess, it sounds plausible. Another angle is that something inherent in the design is restricting the intake.
  5. MKX, you and my wife discovered this on our respective vehicles. Thank you for confirming that it's not just me.
  6. bbf: I have read the manual from cover to cover. However, what's interesting about this is that everyone who is reporting this has a common thread of how hot it is. For instance, our Edge has seen temps around 120 degrees and it does take a very long time to cool down. I have driven an E350 van which is significantly bigger and it didn't even take as long as the Edge to cool down, even with 15 people in it.
  7. cb: I wasn't posting to be confrontational or disagreeable as I am in the same boat as those who have the issue. However, I find it VERY wierd that whenever the wife or I open the glove compartment, the air conditioning seems to blow better. It is as if the glove compartment is acting like an intake which allows more air to get pulled in. None of the other cars I have owned in the past have done this. I have brought it to the dealer's attention and they are perplexed as well. I am bringing it in this Saturday to have this and a few other things looked at. Have you had a chance to test the glove box theory yet?
  8. I have never run 87 in any vehicle I have owned. No intention on starting, either.
  9. I understand the issue just fine. Having owned a 2002 Maxima, also with manual A/C controls, I can attest to that. But that car, even on a 100+ degree day and having a sunroof, cooled off rapidly. Without stating the obvious about vehicle size, there is a legitimate issue where the A/C is not blowing strong enough. I'd like to see who's got the issue where opening the glove compartment seems to cause the A/C to work better. With that in mind, I am wondering how the A/C is "plumbed" where the glove compartment seems to restrict airflow. Guaranteed, I am not the only one.
  10. Been running 89 since I had it. Usually, I go to Chevron, Shell or Mobil.
  11. Our Edge doesn't have the BAMR, nor the electronic controls for the A/C. However, we do set it to Max A/C which directs the cold air to the vents. However, I do notice that when the glove compartment is opened, the A/C seems to blow better. I am taking mine in to check that out.
  12. I am seeing an increase in the Edge population around PHX.
  13. I am seeing some of that in the door jambs of my Edge.
  14. I might have to go this route unless they come up with a kit: http://www.autobarn.net/piaa2193.html
  15. I started using Ultima's Interior Shampoo for the Vinyl and may use the Woolite/Folex for the Carpet. Folex can be gotten at any Home Depot Ultima can be gotten at http://www.autopia-carcare.com For protectants, I have been using 303 for over 6 years.
  16. Favorite Channels Me: 040, 045, 106, 124 Wife: 068, 106, 132 As for the cutting out thing, I do get it when I am going under overpasses or even parking underneath the carport. However, it may go in and out when we are around certain parts of Mesa. I initially thought it may have been such because of the power lines that criss cross the area.
  17. Exactly. It's not as hard as you think it is. It, unlike many things and Windows, is truly plug and play.
  18. I have seen the fake Powerstroke vents on the 3d Carbon Edge.
  19. a) Upgrading to cross drilled rotors would be more problematic. I haven't started that phase (yet)
  20. Glad you are safe and sound. Most importantly, I am more convinced than ever that my wife and I made the right decision in buying one just by those pics alone.
