    I'm going to add a shameless plug because FordPass is super cool with or without SYNC Connect. :) With the FordPass app you have access to the My Vehicles feature that allows you to manage your maintenance schedule, request Roadside Assistance, set a preferred dealership, see your service history, and much more! There's the neat Park feature allows you to find and reserve parking spots (reservations are only available in select cities). You can also access your Ford Credit account!

     

    For those of you that have it downloaded, be sure to go into your App Store and update it to version 1.6 (just released yesterday).

     

    We also offer an aftermarket application called Ford Remote Access that provides access to vehicle functions. To check compatibility with your vehicle please reach out to the Ford Remote Access team at 800-367-3539 or www.fordremoteaccess.com. Their hours are: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm EST and Saturday 9:00am - 1:00pm EST.

  2. Thanks to all, akirby's post gave my memory a kick start. I'm looking at the article posted above now. My Edge is in another state but my Explorer is with me in Florida. On another matter, my 5 year subscription to travel link disappeared after 6 months when I started paying for the Sirius radio. My calls to Sirius had no luck in getting Travel Link restored and I was told to contact the dealer. So far the dealer has had no luck. It is a 2016 Edge Sport purchased in June 2016 with all options except the console safe. Any suggestions?

     

    I know you've contacted Sirius, but they're in the best position to assist. According to their brochure, the 5 year subscription may be available with the navigation system: http://www.ford.com/resources/ford/general/innovations/landing/pdf/ford_gbi.pdf However, I'm unable to activate the subscription.

    Good afternoon. I have deleted the phone from sync and repaired. Same thing happens. It works some of the time but not reliably. When it doesn't work it seems to come back on after I shut car off and sync shuts down. How do you mean go to messages manually on sync?

     

    On the vehicle screen in the PHONE menu.

     

    I was getting the text alert on Sync 2 and Snyc 3 until I upgraded to a 7 plus. Since then no texts. All settings are as mentioned above. seems I remember akirby giving advice about a setting when I had the problem on the old phone, but can't remember what that was.

    I do. Sometimes it works for awhile and other times not at all.

     

    As commbubba19 stated, I suggest pairing your phone again. Also, what happens if you try to go to messages manually on SYNC?

     

    No I was saying that the comment was dead on. You have to click the show notifications under the Sync Bluetooth Connection.

  5. FYI- I tried it in my loaner car. 17 Fusion with SYNC v 2.0 it seems to be working. I think the idea of deleting and unpairing will probably work to correct it!

    No problem. I'm assuming that there is a setting on Android phones that may or may not correct this. I can confirm that the issue did not occur using an Apple or a Windows phone.

  6. The touch screen in my wife's 2013 Edge limited stopped working. The screen still works its just the touch that will not work. The back up camera comes on when it is shifted into reverse. But we can not use any function on the screen like the heated seats or changing radio stations. Any ideas??? We are in Wisconsin and she misses those heated seats!

    Are all the options such as, Phone and Entertainment inoperable? If so, try performing a key cycle. Once the engine has been running, turn off the vehicle and remove the key. Open the drivers side door for 30 seconds. Then, close the door and restart the vehicle.

  7. This forum looks dead but I'll try anyway.

    I understand there is a MFT v3.8 for my 2011 Edge SEL. But SyncMyRide says my current v3.6 is up to date.

     

    My SyncMyRide subscription expired years ago, is this why it won't show the v3.8 update?

    Or do I need to visit the dealer to get it?

  8. One last question. I know the warranty is five years unlimited mileage how does this work if you bought the car certified pre-owned. If it is five years I would assume it would be from the original purchase date which was December 2011 for the first owner which means this would be up this month. Is this correct or no and if not can someone explain it to me.

    You're welcome, tamugrad2013! The 30 secs are important because you need the system to turn completely off. I can speak on the SYNC warranty, but you'll need to reach out to my colleagues in the Ford Service department for other warranty concerns. Please reach out to them by:

    Phone: 1-800-392-FORD

     

    Under the 12M02 Customer Satisfaction program, the warranty on the APIM was extended to 5 years from the original warranty date. You can send the VIN in a private message; I can advise you of the end date.

    Great troubleshooting. This shouldn't be too big of a concern if it has only happened once. I suggest removing the card and performing a key cycle before the master reset. To perform a key cycle:

     

    1. Turn ignition off
    2. Open and close the driver’s door
    3. Wait for MyFord Touch to turn off completely and watch for the clusters to power off
    4. Wait 30 seconds before proceeding
    5. Turn ignition on
    6. Wait for MyFord Touch to turn on completely. Watch for the clusters to power on
