  1. I thought I would give a brief summary of the first year of ownership of my 2012 Ford Edge Ecoboost. Overall I have been pretty pleased with the vehicle in general. The general bad problems have all been from the dealership in Odessa, TX. When I went in to purchase this vehicle I was looking for a vehicle to get comparable mileage to my 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo. In that respect it has far exceeded it. The lowest recorded mileage was 19.3 MPG primary city driving and a lot of stop and go traffic. The highest I have ever achieved was 32.4 MPG all highway on I-20 from Tuscaloosa, AL to Columbia, SC would say a pretty steady average of ~24 MPG. So far issues have been a rattling front passenger seat that took forever to get fixed due to the incompetence of the Odessa Ford Dealer. Luckily Stanley Ford in Andrews has been a blessing. All the components in the Vista Roof had to be replaced except the glass. A transmission linkage was loose causing a shift to park message every so often. All of these were fixed by Stanley Ford. All was well until October when the fuel pump went out and it had to be towed to the dealership in Andrews, TX. Luckily that was also fixed under warranty, but that whole experience put an even worse taste in my mouth from the Odessa Ford dealership. So far I would say in a year I have had about 3000 dollars worth of work done on it if it weren't under warranty which is scary to see what will happens when the warranty does expire. The only major wear and tear issue I am worried about is the leather seats seem to be pretty cheaply made. In this one year as well I put over 21,000 miles on it which is quite a lot. I hope to have many more wonderful years with this car and hope that year two will not have nearly as many trips to the shop. I also appreciate everyones assistance on this forum and look forward to keeping up with this forum for questions and I hope I have been of some assistance as well.
  2. Well I toom it and it has a slow leak from a nail. It was patched right up. The light was on when I got it back but turned off about 1/4 mile down the road.
  3. When does the TPMS come on. I just checked all my tires and one was down to 27 and it hasn't come on. I assume it has a slow leak so I am getting it patched, but it seems like it should have came on at that level. It's a 2012 and I've always done good with checking the tires. Our Audi comes on after being just a few pounds low.
  4. What would be a good way to get the system cleaned. I have ~30,800 miles on mine and if it is a good idea to get it done I would like to see about good technique or a good place to go.
  5. So I have picked it up and its back to purring like a kitten and running as smooth as it always has. The coolant leak was apparently a minor leak around a seal which is why it takes a few months for me to notice the reservoir was low. And apparently the fuel pump was just a defective pump. All is well on my Edge now expect its filthy on the outside due to recent rain.
  6. Well heard from the dealership and they said that the fuel pump failed and there is a leak in the coolant system. Coolant system leak isn't related to the no power issue, but I'm glad they caught it. Parts are ordered and should be in Monday Evening or Tuesday Morning and hopefully ready Wednesday or Thursday.
  7. Mine was doing it as well and the dealer said a transmission linkage cable was not seated properly or loose. They tightened it up and all was well since with the transmission i mean.
  8. It was a P0087 code and no I didn't get a wrench or the service Advancetrak warning? It was picked up this morning by a tow truck and taken to the dealer. I will be picking up a loaner car tomorrow afternoon. I'll keep y'all posted.
  9. This afternoon I was driving home from work and as I was pulling away from a stop light I had hardly any power and barely got it up to 30 mph. I then pulled over shut the engine off and restarted the engine. It started very hard, but once it started it ran smooth. I still didn't have any power. About 2 or 3 miles down the road the check engine light came on and I decided to stop at O'Reilly's for them to run the code. It gave a low fuel pressure code. Luckily I am still under warranty and plan on seeing if they will tow it in to the dealer tomorrow and I can pick up a loaner car after work. It actually just ticked over to 30,000 miles today on the way home. If y'all have any ideas at issues please let me know.
  10. Mine did that on occasion, but it wasn't enough to worry me. Then I started to get a Shift to park message after I turned the vehicle off and it was in park. While I was having the BAMR fixed and the seat noise issue they looked at that problem as well. Turns out a transmission linkage was a bit loose so they replaced it under warranty and haven't had neither issue since.
  11. It doesn't ratchet in place. The back seats will if you pull them out to far but the front drivers seat will not do that. I have thought about getting a seat belt extender but to be honest and this is going to sound really stupid I like the ford start up chime when you start the car and if the extender is continually put into the seat belt holder you don't get to hear the chime. Weird I know but its the second most pleasing start up chime I've heard aside from BMW's.
  12. Good afternoon all. I will preface this with the fact that I am a rather rotund guy, but the seat belts on my edge don't feel like they have any wiggle room for me while I am in the driver seat or if I am riding in the passenger seat. This doesn't seem to be that bad of an issue in the back seat. I just am not sure if the seatbelt is to short for myself or if I am just a little to rotund. Anytime I am driving my mom's Audi A3 it is not tight at all and I feel like the seat bel gives me plenty of wiggle room. I am almost tempted to go to a ford dealer and sit in an edge and see if it feels any different.
  13. Since my car has been in the shop I have been given a Ford F-150 with the Ecoboost V6. Overall the truck is nice but its not my Edge. I can't wait to get my car back. This model does have Sync but not MFT and I have to say that I am glad my car has MFT. I feel like the voice command and recognition is horrible in the F-150 compared to mine. Hopefully by the end of this week I have mine back.
  14. Just an FYI as well. When i initially called the dealer they said if I did happen to get a ticket before I got the tag changed to just bring it in and they would take care of it.
  15. I honestly didn't mean to start such a poo storm when I started this forum. A fix would be nice, but definitely not a deal breaker for me. I am just going to assume the next MFT update will fix it.
  16. All is fixed thankfully I didn't get pulled over.
  17. I had to put my Edge in the shop today and I got a loaner car as per my CPO agreement. I didn't notice that it had temp. tags on it and I saw once I got home that they expired over a month ago. If I were to get pulled over what ramifications would I be held for if I were to be cited since it is a loaner vehicle. This is in Texas.
  18. It did pretty well it was quite filthy inside and out. I am cleaning the inside today and it was washed really well a few days ago. I have posted some pictures up of the mud and the roads. Really great trip all together.
