  1. I do not have a fuse checker or a multimeter. I always just used my fathers if I need one and I will not be back home until mid June. I looked at the diagram in the owners manual and got a little perplexed. I assume the compressor clutch fuse, and the compressor fuse are because they are turning. The cooling fan also kicks on. I am not sure about any other fuses that may be involved. If I turn AC off and drive with just the blower on the air is just temperate as it could be when it is 91 degrees out side. I guess I am just going to have to get it looked at. I will say premium care has paid for it self already.
  2. Other note of interest when i turn on the ac the compressor clutch does engage and the compressor does turn, but still all hot air to the dealership I go.
  3. Today coming home from the grocery store I had the AC on set to 68 and all was working well. As I was going about 40 mph the revs dropped from about ~1200 rpms to ~900 rpms for literally less then a second and back to normal, and it quit blowing cold air. It took it a few moments and then just warm air started coming out of the vents. I did not hear any squeal when it stopped working and I inspected the serpentine belt and it seems to be in good shape. My best guess is the compressor failed and that dip in rpms was brief seize up before it just started spinning on the compressor with no power (Freewheeling) going to it. I have an appointment at the dealership on Thursday and will post updates when I find out anything. Please advise if you have had similar issues or thoughts. It is a little ironic that this fails just hours after paid her off this morning.
  4. Oh the profession is teaching which has it's ups and downs and it being almost the end of the school year the kids are going a little crazy. I am going back to get my masters starting in September for Educational Counseling. Hopefully things continue to go up and up.
  5. Well I am making my final payment on the Edge tomorrow. So very excited to have her be all mine after 3 years and 3 months. Also excited to have her paid off while under 80,000 miles (79,963 to be exact). thats me on top of the world
  6. How much did the dealer charge for this service if you don't mind me asking. Im going to have it done this summer.
  7. I have a 2012 Limited Ecoboost and it has a sound screen windshield. I was not aware this wasn't standard on every Edge.
  8. Two Quick Questions about the same topic. One: Approximatley how long do the factory HID bulbs last in the Edge? Two: On the ford parts website the replacement bulb is $380.20 seems a bit high for bulb what are other options that are very similar or the same to the factory bulbs. I am not needing to replace, but looking for the future and I like the output and color of the factory bulbs
  9. Well until my car is out of its premium care warranty in 20,000 miles it is OEM or nothing that way there is no question of a repair issues comes up.
  10. I feel like this may be a stupid question, but I am generally curious because I know come June I am doing this job. Is it advisable to change the ignition coils at the same time you change the plugs. The reason I ask is my last car had a very old style 3.4 liter V6 and it had spark plug wires and I know those needed to be replaced with a spark plug change. Thanks in advance.
  11. Welcome to the forum. I hope you find any and all information you may need here. I know it has come in handy for me.
  12. Ok thank you. Will go by O'reilly's after work some day this week.
  13. Will i get codes even if no warning lights have come on.
  14. I know for sure it is not in the oil. I do oil changes every 5-7000 miles and it has never been milky or a different consistency. My dad things it is possibly a seal in the coolant cap that allows it to evaporate because it is not that much when it is losing it. The roof I do clean and oil every six months or so and that seems to help for about three. Maybe I just need to up the interval to three months. I know that I use my roof a lot more frequently than most people. I would say on average it is open at least once or twice a week (Bipolar West Texas Weather to Thank for that).
  15. Was't sure where to post so here goes. I'm again having transmission issues see topic in FWD section, and also having issues with the vista roof, and seem to be losing coolant somewhere because every 5-7000 miles it has lost some from the reservoir. My question is how many items should i bring up at a visit. Due to past dealer experiences this can be touchy again see transmission issue post in FWD section. Thanks for the thoughts.
  16. Oh I forgot to put in it is a 2012 with 76,XXX miles on it and I do have the premium care warranty that is good for 100,000 miles and January of of 2019.
  17. Good Evening, After having the center carrier in the transmission replaced last summer (July) and the car being in the shop for 20 days transmission issues have come again. It has been a lot smoother since I got it back, but within the last few weeks its been harsher downshifts again and now when I just was coming home pulling into my parking space it really started shuttering as i was coming to a stop. Also shifting from park to reverse shakes the car harshly, and shifting from reverse to drive is even worse all of a sudden. I have seen only two cases of transmission issues on the 2.0 L Ecoboost engine including mine. There is rarely if ever harsh upshifts. The downshifts are not only harsh when accelerating now but also when coming to a stop. Now the bigger issue is dealership experiences. I recently moved back to Odessa, TX and I have had many issues with the dealership here in town with previous issues and the transmission work was done at another dealership in College Station, TX. One of my biggest gripes is when I lived here last time they would not even schedule an appointment. They would just say bring it in and drop it off. I do not understand why I can't schedule a time especially if it is one or two weeks in advance to bring it in and have it looked at that day. I just want to be able to go to a dealership and not be screwed which seems difficult here in the Odessa area. I will give them another chance because it has been over two years since I have used the dealership here, and I am 99% sure they will be able to replicate the issue. Thanks for thoughts and replies.
  18. Also thank you Shaay. I did that as well, but I definitely did not wait the 30 seconds hence why that may not of worked. Great tip thanks.
  19. One last question. I know the warranty is five years unlimited mileage how does this work if you bought the car certified pre-owned. If it is five years I would assume it would be from the original purchase date which was December 2011 for the first owner which means this would be up this month. Is this correct or no and if not can someone explain it to me.
  20. So this afternoon I got home from work and shut the car off for about four minutes and then headed back to go to the store. About thirty seconds after starting I got a navigation fault please insert sd card although the card was inserted. I removed it a few times and put it back in to no avail. Finally once I got to the store I shut the car off again and did a master reset on MFT and re inserted the card. That seemed to fix the issue, but could this be the start of a bigger issue like the APIM going out. I am two years and about 28,000 miles from the end of my extended premium care warranty and I am not sure if I should take it in. I also wanted to know if anybody else has this issue. I forgot to add this is a 2012 Limited

  22. I find it therapeutic. It looks amazing and the sun roof closes now in 8 seconds down from 14 seconds. Cleaned all the railings with some paint brushes and lubed it up with WD-40 Silicone Spray. Wish I would have taken a before picture. She was awful looking.
  23. Haven't done it yet but plan on spending a good chunk of my day tomorrow with my Edge. I am going to wash, dry, and wax it/ get all the bugs and grime off the grille/clean and polish the wheels/complete interior vacuum and cleaning/ and also cleaning, greasing, and reinitializing the vista roof. Probably will change the key fob battery as well. I did get her inspected today, and also changed all of the wiper blades prior to inspection. I do hope I can get all of this done. I am going to start around 8:00 am. My car has been absolutely filthy since this last heavy rain in Odessa about three weeks ago so she needs a lot of TLC. I post and update tomorrow.
  24. Definitely can take it to a different dealer. I brought mine in Fort Worth, TX (better selection and less sleazy sales people) and I get it warranty work done locally.
  25. When mine was in the shop the thing they were trying to calibrate at the end was the 6-4 downshift so I assume when downshifting under heavy load it will skip 5th entirely. I do not know. I am sitting at 70,600 miles and it still seems pretty good when granny driving and keeping it under 2,200 rpms at all times even accelerating, but it is difficult. I have also switched to using only top tier fuels since October and maybe its a placebo effect but it feels like it is running smoother overall. I will be replacing spark plugs this next Summer which I will assume will be around 80,000 miles.
