  1. I have a 2012 and that is the normal operation. I am not sure of Gen 2 2015-Present.
  2. You could always try to reinitialize the roof using the following steps http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/5259-sunroof-initialization/ If this doesn't work I would have to assume the motors are probably toast especially if you have checked the fuses. If it does work I would take the steps to clean and lubricate the tracks because if they are dirty it can cause the motors to fail if it is not cleaned and lubed periodically.
  3. Talked to the dealer and my insurance agent and If my edge is not back in my possession by the time I leave on Sunday morning I am good to go to take the truck. :happy feet: Now personally I really do want my own car back, but it is a relief that I do not have to worry if for some reason I do not get it back. I'll keep y'all posted on when I get my own car back.
  4. I've inspected the loaner agreement and it does not have any mileage limits and only prohibits travel outside of the United States and Canada. There are no rental rates on the agreement from the dealership. Again I will still talk to the dealership Tuesday before I leave and will check with my insurance agent if I have to take the truck. I think it is only fair to use the loaner as I would use my own as I was directed by my service advisor especially since I have been without my car since May 11th.
  5. I definitely will let them know Im actually going up on Tuesday to talk to them about the status of my car and let them know when I am leaving. Hopefully that will light a fire under their butt.
  6. As you may have seen in a previous post I am currently in a 2017 Ford F-150 (dealer demo car I believe) since my car is in the shop. As of right now it has been in for 44 days and a new transmission should be in Monday and installed by Wednesday or Thursday. I have a trip scheduled since mid April before the car went in the shop. I am leaving on June the 25th and if my car is still not fixed is it wrong to take the truck? When I spoke to my service advisor about going home he said drive the truck as if it was my own which to me means since I have had this trip planned for so long and am no without my car use theirs. PS I already pushed the trip back once (I was supposed to be leaving tomorrow for a week), but since they said this should be the actual fix I pushed it back. I do not want to push it back again due to Traveling on July 4th (No Thank You) and my Airbnb cost goes up by 98 dollars. Let's all just hope that my Edge will be put back together before next Saturday the 24th so this is a non issue. The only reason I do not want to take the truck is it doesn't have factory nav. I know I can use a phone I just feel like factory navigation in easier to use.
  7. Probably not the case here, but I will throw it out. According to the owners manual if there is an airbag fault one of the warnings will be a series of 5 beeps which I know is more than 3, but you never know. The manual also states that this will continue periodically until it is corrected. Here is the quote A series of five beeps will be heard. The tone pattern will repeat periodically until the problem and/or light are repaired.
  8. So now I have another fear. The transmission will be in to the dealership at the earliest on Friday but most likely on Monday. They have said middle to end of next week it should be ready. My fear is that what if this does not fix the issue or another issue pops up what else could go wrong. If I get it back on the 22nd then that will be 49 days. I am going to cross my fingers and hope. If I get my it back I am planning on leaving on June the 26th for vacation to Colorado so I sure hope it goes smooth so I can leave on time. I have already pushed back my trip once so we shall see.
  9. I have not had to replace mine on my Edge, but on my old Monte Carlo I found a totaled one and pulled the armrest lid out of it at the junk yard for only about 5.00 bucks.
  10. Agreed they already opened it up once this time and the reason they are looking at a new transmission is because it had transmission work done on it about a year ago to the day.
  11. Here is an update on the Edge. Got a call from the service advisor Monday saying that ford approved the replacement of the Valve Body and it was on order. The part came in yesterday and was installed this morning. I get another call this afternoon, 6/7/2017, and it is still giving them really harsh downshifts from 6th to 4th gear say in a passing situation on the highway. So they are going to do another write up to ford and get approval to replace the whole darn transmission. Hopefully the dealership will hear from their engineers by Friday afternoon. I do have to say I really feel like the dealership is doing me right and I hope that I will have the car in working order by next Thursday or I will have to postpone my trip to Colorado. They are letting me take the loaner F-150 to my parents which I think is very generous of them considering it is a 400+ mile round trip.
  12. I saw a video on youtube that says if you take the two keys with the IA system and put one in the slot inside the center console and cycle to on and then off without putting your foot on the brake and then take the second key and do the exact same it should come up. I can not test this theory because I do not currently have my car.
  13. I am pretty sure this is on only newer fords, because my 2012 does not do this, but I did notice this in the 2017 F-150 Loaner truck I have. It amazed me even more that this truck didn't have automatic climate control, but the fan speed knob is essentially electronic because when you twist it lights show how high/low the fan speed is on.
  14. I set my oil life monitor to 50% and try to change it overtime with about 3 or 4 % remaining. A few times I reset it to 10% to stop the message coming on if I couldn't get to it for a few weeks. I guess I normally only let it go 6,000 miles at the most.
  15. I agree I'm just not sure how to convince the dealer to do this.
  16. We are now sitting at day 16 in the shop waiting an more transmission parts. I believe they said the are replacing the center carrier in the transmission again which was replaced last June. Thankfully I still have a loaner. I had to give back the Escape to enterprise due to Extended warranty only covering 10 days, but the dealer was nice enough to give me a 2017 Ford F-150 XLT Demo Car. I hope to have my car back soon, but as long as I have a loaner car I can't complain.
  17. I do not know about long term turbo lifespan, but mine went in the shop for a broken AC compressor and a transmission issue. After they had put everything back together they took it out for a test drive, and the car had no power and the CEL came on. The code read for turbo failure and a replacement one was ordered. My car only has 80,000 miles on it and I had it since it had 12,000 miles on it and I am religious about changing the oil every 5-6,000 miles and using top tier fuels. Hopefully this is an isolated incident, thankfully this is covered under the premium care extended service plan.
  18. I apologize for this thread going in many different directions, but to add more mystery to the discussion the dealer called with an update today. They said that all the parts came in and the technician was able to work on them today and get all parts installed. When they went for a test drive to make sure all was working well the car had no power and was basically barely getting up to speed. They checked for codes and two codes lead to the diagnosis being turbo failure. So now another parts order was put in today and the turbo should be in by Tuesday, again thankfully under the premium care warranty. It is a little scary that the turbo failed after only 80,000 miles. I would appreciate any thoughts on the subject.
  19. I am going to throw this out there on the transmission. I know these have had a few issues on the ecoboosts and I wonder if it has anything to do with the higher torque number. I mean I know the difference is 253 for the 3.5 L to 270 in the 2.0 L ecoboost. Do you think 17 lb ft. could make a difference is transmission hardiness. I am guessing no, but you never know.
  20. Well just to give an update the Edge went to the dealer today since it is still under premium care extended warranty. Already diagnosed and the compressor is shot. They have ordered one and it will be in tomorrow morning. They also checked the transmission out due to things that I have mentioned earlier and they determined a turbine speed sensor is bad and some solenoid is bad which will not be in until Monday. I will say I was given a a 2017 Ford Escape for loaner and it is pretty nice. I do hate the auto stop/start feature thankfully it can be defeated.
  21. I can check into that, but would it still blow hot even if it has been sitting all day and started only at 6:00 pm and still instantly blows hot with the ac on.
  22. I should clarify it does not ever smell hot. I wrote the previous content when I was very tired. I do have a question on why the gauge would be an "idiot" gauge. I mean I feel like it gives a pretty accurate representation but I do not own anything that reads from the OBD-II Port
  23. The temperature gauge reads spot on in the middle where it always reads and the engine does smell hot at all.
  24. Ok so it being 80 degrees out I tested all the vents with the setting on the lowest temperature and every single vent front, rear, passenger, and driver blow warm air.
  25. I did restart the engine this morning at about 8:15 am after it sat all night. When I turned the AC on there was a hesitation and a slight squeak then just hot air again. I do not think it is the blend door actuator because both sides blow hot in the dual climate control, but the rear seat ac vents blow a little cold but I think it is still to cool outside to get a good feel. I will wait till later today to test all the vents temperature when it gets to the 90's. I also can hear the blend doors open and close when I turn the ac on and off.
