  1. I just got my 9012 Morimoto kit last week and it shipped with 9006 bulbs. Everything worked but there is some trimming needed on one of the tabs. They go in fine without trimming but you will get a shadow from the return wire. The bulbs had to be rotated 1 tab clockwise so the wire is at the bottom of the projector. If you looking at the back of the projector the tab that hits the slot at 2 o'clock needs to be trimmed down. I just used a toe nail clipper and cutoff the excess slowly until it fit in. I believe that you may want the wire harness and the canbus. I may be wrong, but I don't believe the canbus connects to the battery so the 55w kit may put a strain on the factory wiring while firing the hids. I thought that the stand alone canbus was basically just a capacitor to balance out the flicker with the lower load of DRLs. I don't know about the different look to the XB35 bulbs, I just got the standard kit because I thought I was getting 9012 bulbs. I got the 55w 5000k kit. They are super bright and the color is perfect, it's a very crisp white without the blue tint of xenon halogen bulbs.
  2. Has anyone that has the hyperflash issue only installed the taillights? That may help to see if the resistor only being used on the headlights will fix the issue.
  3. I got everything sorted out last night with a mirror and now they are perfect. The pattern and cutoff is much better and no more shadow. I had to rotate the bulb so they were 1 tab clockwise from where they actually lined up to. 1 tab had to be trimmed quite a bit, like half of it, but then the slid it and rotated to seat tightly. For the proper alignment the return wire had to be at the 6 O'clock position. When placing them into the housing it was at about 8 O'clock looking towards the car or 4 O'clock from the back of the housing. Thanks for all of the help and feedback.
  4. I am going to start with a mirror and see if I can just get a better look at how it's all lining up, but this may be the route that I need to take.
  5. Are the wire shadows normal with Morimotos in the Edge or should I be able to get rid of them?
  6. I got the 9012 kit, but the bulbs included are still 9006. I compared them to the stock halogen bulbs and 1 of the tabs was slightly longer so I trimmed it back. I know many have said that trimming isn't needed but I thought it might make it easier.
  7. I just got my 55w morimoto hid kit. I got everything wired up and so far everything that I was worried about isn't a problem, it fires every time and works with the auto headlights. One of the few thing that I wasn't worried about turned into a problem. I can't get the bulbs in for the life of me. I compared to the OEM light for orientation and that puts the return wire on the bottom. I can get them into the slots this way but I can't turn the bulb to seat it all of the way. The return wire on the bottom is giving me a shadow and the cutoff isn't very clean because they aren't seated tight enough. I then turned back to kc300c's video for guidance. He shows the return wire oriented to the outside of the car. I can't get the tabs to line up this way. What am I doing wrong?
  8. I haven't done anything with my turn signals yet but this was my plan if I had an issue. I also am not that comfortable with splicing into my factory wiring. Mainly I am looking for something that is easily reversible without leaving much of a trail behind. I don't know if there is room for this solution on the taillights but it should work for the headlights and that sounds to be a greater issue. I plan to purchase a bulb extension and then add the resistor into that. That way I can just unplug the extension/resistor combo and be right back to stock quickly.
  9. I agree, I wouldn't consider anything else. I was only stating that the only negative feedback that I could find were regarding the ESP and not an online dealer that it may have been purchased from.
  10. Sorry, I must be slow. I can't find a download link for the Status Checker Tool and the Vehicle history report doesn't show the software version. Never mind. After running the History Report, if I click the check for updates it says that I am on the current version.
  11. Is a harness needed or recommended on a 35w kit? Is 35w bright enough or are you better off going with a 55w kit and a harness? I must have had some really bad lights on my Saab because, unlike most, I actually find that the stock 9012 bulbs aren't that bad.
  12. Thanks for the info guys. I have looked all over and can't find anything negative about any of the 4 major online sellers. The only negatives that I can find are on the ESP itself, and you're always going to have people complaining about something like that. I would rather have something backed by Ford than from a private company that could go under and leave you with nothing. The dealer put a bit of unnecessary doubt in my mind. I know they have their own markup but twice the price seems like a pretty steep markup on something like that.
  13. I purchased a used 2012 SEL last week. Part of my plan was to purchase an extended warranty for the vehicle. I did some research online and found floodfordesp.com to be the best price for my vehicle. I was looking at the 7 year 100,000 warranty for $1215. I didn't expect the dealership to be able to match that price going into it. Not only could she not match it but she was insistent that the warranty could not possibly be a true Ford ESP. The dealer price was $2340 I believe, it was the same price as the Ford Owner website. Has anyone purchased from Flood Ford and actually used the warranty? We're their any issues? I have looked all over at several different forums and have seen several people purchasing them but nothing on use. She scared me a bit and I don't really want to throw $1200 out the window, but I don't want to pay twice what I need to either.
  14. I tried running the 3.6.2 update yesterday and the install said that your system has already been upgraded. It's possible that the dealership already upgraded it but how can I check the current version. According to the ford support site it has never been updated but that could easily be inaccurate.
  15. I just purchased a used 2012 SEL without Nav. It currently has MFT v2.11. I haven't noticed any issues in the few days that I have had the vehicle. Should I install the 3.62 update or am I better off with the version that I currently have?
