  1. Congratulations,we picked up a 07 pewter metallic MKX a couple of months ago and absolutely love it.You are right about the luxury items- I also felt that it was a little bit better put together than the Edge.Don't get me wrong, the Edge was great but the hard plastic surfaces felt a little bit cheap. It also helped make our decision when all the awd Edges were sold out and they had this 07 MKX awd with dvd for waaay less than new.Hope your experience is as good as ours has been.
  2. Welcome to the forum.I am sure that you will love it and it's nice to see another Albertan on the forum-just don't hold it against me that I am from Calgary.
  3. Congrats on your purchase, it sounds pretty sweet.I know what you mean about the wife killing you over getting mods for a new vehicle but sometimes it is better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission.

    MK X

We became first time Lincoln owners just awhile ago too.The MKX definately is a sweet ride, congratulations on your purchase.
  6. Congratulations and welcome to the forum.
  7. If you don't have the THX sound system why don't you put them in the cubby where the sub is supposed to go.That's where we put them in our 07 MKX.
  8. Before you jump on the hybrid bandwagon you should consult Consumer Reports. They show that the only hybrids worth the increased cost are the Escape and Prius. In all the other cases you have to keep the car way over 5 years to even get close to recovering the increased cost in gas savings.
  9. Congratulations on your purchase. It's just too bad you have to wait those 6-8 weeks, hope it goes by fast.
  10. At least it is not everybody, trust me you do not want your wife to have to reset her seat every time she gets in the car.
  11. Welcome to the forum.Sorry about you having to lose the toys but I guess family comes first. You will not be disappointed in the Edge - it's a great family car.
  12. We took it in to the dealer and it is fixed- for an explanation look under the maintenance section for the post.
  13. If you saw my post elsewhere I was having problems with my seats keeping the memory between my wife and I.Took it to the dealer and this is what he gave us. 14. My MKX came with the overhead DVD and it is nice but I agree with the other posts that the DVD in the headrests would be better-especially if you have two kids that don't want the same movie.Trust me from experience that they almost never want to watch the same flick.
  15. Welcome to the forum, I am sure that you will like your Edge(but probably not as much as that sweet Mustang).
  16. Welcome,I am sure that you would like the Edge, and would stick with the charcoal interior(especially if you have kids or kids will ever be in the car)as far as the exterior color either is ok but I am more a fan of the copper or black. You will like the power, handling and room, the only thing to keep in mind is that it is a big car so don't expect small car mileage.Good luck finding the one that you want.
  17. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem with the seat settings or not but it doesn't seem to remember the two settings. My wife can set the seat and mirrors where she wants them and then follow the owner's manual to set the seat, get out , lock the car, unlock it and get in and the seat doesn't go to her setting. It did hold my settings until she took it to the dealer. He said that he reprogrammed it and it worked fine but when she tried it at home it didn't go to her settings.Even worse is that it isn't going to my setting anymore even though I tried to reset it four times tonight.I know that it is a minor piss off but it shouldn't be happening. What's the point of having two seat memories that don't work?Any suggestions?

    Oil Prices

You can blame the oil companies themselves.I saw a leaked Chevron memo from 20 years ago that said that the only way that they could increase the profit margin on gas was to make less.Hence the reason that they haven't made a new gas plant in so long even though the demand keeps going up.It's not that there is no oil out there, they say that the oilsands here in Alberta are the second biggest confirmed oil reserve outside of Saudi Arabia. That doesn't even count the oilsands in Saskatchewan.
  19. Sorry to hear that you don't like the ride-I guess you didn't take a long enough test drive. The oil spots could be from the awd system,I have read that quite a few people have had a leak problem but that once fixed it does not happen again.I also agree that you might need to find a different dealer, you wouldn't be the first to find a crappy dealer. Hope it works out for you
  20. Congratulations on your purchase,I'm sure that you will enjoy it.You are right about the mat seeming flimsy,we have it too but it seems to be strong enough. After all what are you really loading back there anyways.
  21. Since this would be the only vehicle that you have I would lean towards the larger Edge. But I would also make sure that there are no options that you feel that you must have. There is nothing worse than buyers remorse.
  22. Looks good, I can't wait-you can always use more horsepower. :shades:
  23. Being the dealer I'm sure that he would suggest the Motorcraft special wheel cleaner, yours today for only twice as much as any other product
  24. Like you said-the wife will be driving 90% of the time and just liked it better.Do you really want get the 9 and have your better half in six months sigh and say she wishes you got the Edge?
