  1. Yes and Yes. I bought a key on Ebay for a Ford Fusion for my mother in law, but it worked with my 13 Edge. Got it cut, programmed the keys as set forth in the manual and now have a working small key for under $10.
  2. Brakes on my 13 are excellent. Stop on a dime.

    Fuel Economy Help!

With about 2500 miles on my 2013 Edge, I reset the trip odometer while on the highway, set the car to cruise at 70mph and watched the gas mileage get up to 25.8 mpg. Not bad. Too bad I do a good bit of local driving. ;-)
  4. My 2014 AWD does not show any recalls. Lucky?
  5. My best guess is that they should be something like this but for an Edge, not an Explorer: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Explorer-2011-2014-Cup-Holder-Insert-Center-Console-Large-Cup-Small-/331226891222?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d1ea943d6&vxp=mtr
  6. I searched but didn't find them anywhere. I have an SE. Since the cup holders look like they might be two different sizes, can somebody give me the part numbers from theirs so I can give the info to my dealer? (They don't seem to know a lot about the little details...). Thanks
  7. Guess I should have read this first. I followed the instructions and found air bubbles when I pulled the paper off the top. Ended up lifting the rubber off the bumper from the middle of each side and reapplying the plastic part so I think I ended up with no bubbles. It looks nice, but for a musician like me, it does NOT offer much real protection. If you're going to charge that kind of money for that chintzy a part (that the user has to then install), at least make it cover the entire thickness of the bumper. I'm off to find some moving blanket material to put over the bumper during loading and unloading.
  8. I installed the snap screws. Two weren't properly formed, but pushing the phillips head into the plastic took care of that. I used the small drill bit and an angled electric screw driver to drill the holes as precisely and slowly as possible. I carefully taped the templates as well before drilling. It was tough to get to the screws towards the hatch. Not much room there. But none of the screws snugged up enough to stop. I used a small hand screwdriver. I don't know how often I'll be taking it out, but if I did unsnap the buttons a lot, I don't have much confidence it would last. Needs nuts on the other side. I'm also disappointed that there is no velcro for the middle headrest as it droops a bit there and the right side seems to droop a little. No matter how you look at it, it's not nearly as clean as the install in my wife's 2013 escape (or our old 2001 or 2007 or the Mitsu Endeavor I traded in on this). And there's no way this should cost about the same as the one for the Escape.
  9. Every car I've owed has a removable rubber insert for the main cup holders to allow for easier cleaning. None in my Edge. My wife's 2013 Escape at least has a removable rubber bottom for cleaning. Am I missing something?
  10. I just received a new cargo shade for my new 2014 Edge. Yeah, it's not worth the money compared to the comparably priced retractable shades in other vehicles like the Escape, but it is what it is and I need it. However, I was shocked to see that in order to install the shade, I'm expected to drill holes for snaps that hold the shade in place on the sides. I thought something tucked down between the plastic sides and the glass! What happens if I screw up and put the snap in the wrong place? Will the plastic hold the snap screws with frequent use over time? Is this possibly an outdated version of the cover since this all seems so ridiculous? Your help is sincerely appreciated. Thanks
  11. i compared the Husky liners I bought for my Edge to the WeatherTech liners I bought for my wife's 2013 Escape. The Husky wins for me hands down. MUCH better coverage and fit and I prefer the feel of the material as well.
  12. I just ordered Husky Weatherbeater Liners for my Edge. I put the Weather Techs in my wife's 2013 Escape and was very disappointed that it didn't cover the left foot dead pedal and didn't really come up the sides as far as I'd like. Also, when I'm a passenger, my feet go higher than the Weather Tek in the passenger compartment. the Husky goes higher all around. And at $140 shipped for front and 2nd row, it's hard to beat. Passed on the cargo area since they don't protect the sides which is what I really want/need.
