  1. I see that nobody replied to this thread. I found this video helpful since the spring was missing in my case. https://youtu.be/v5pUpkg3sGo
  2. Update: The Motorcraft replacement pump I ordered from Rockauto worked well for almost 2 years but the pulsing noise returned. Fortunately there is a 2-year warranty. I used the same shop as before but this time the fuel guage is not working after installing the pump. They suspect a faulty sending unit on the pump so I'm going to see if I can get a 3rd pump but I'm concerned that I won't be able to ship a used fuel pump in the mail.
  3. Thank you for the detailed post. I have a 2010 SEL AWD (manufactured in 2009). In my case, I ordered the oem pump, unbolted the back seat, pulled up the carpet and was greeted to a tiny access hole instead of an access cover. I guess all Edges were not made alike. I ended up bringing it to a shop so they could drop the tank and install the pump for me. Part number: 8T4Z-9H307-A The reason I changed the pump was because it was making a pulsing sound. 6. Here is a follow up to my post on 29 March 2015: I contacted the service manager at my local dealer and he was sympathetic but since the recall doesn’t include 2010, there was nothing he could do (he understood it would be at least September for new parts). My next call was to Ford Canada and the agent on the phone was polite and courteous but could not offer any assistance. She lectured me on the warranty period being over and that it is a consumer problem. I reminded her that a defective part is manufactures problem, regardless whether they admit it or not. I called Transport Canada next and left a message with the details. Their automated message said to expect a phone call to confirm the details of the complaint. So I’m stuck with a car that I don’t feel is safe enough for my kids. Even if I get the tank “repaired” that means I’m repairing a part that is likely fit to be recalled anyway. I’ll see what Transport Canada says but I think I’ll call Ford again and let them know that I will be documenting how they handle the situation on a public forum and it is up to them whether the public reads a positive or a negative experience. I really liked this vehicle and was looking forward to growing into an Explorer once my boys are older but an issue like this really puts a bad taste in my mouth. I’ll follow up if I hear anything new.
  7. I have a 2010 AWD Edge and started to smell fuel and noticed a leak in my driveway last week. I brought it into the dealer for oil change/safety inspection and it turns out that it needs the fuel tank replaced. So it failed safety and the dealer cannot locate an oem, aftermarket or salvaged fuel tank. (probably due to the recall on the 07-08 models). A) How is it that the 09-10 models are not covered under the recall? What am I supposed to do? I think my only option is to get the defective fuel tank removed and reconditioned at a specialty shop. I think this is pretty serious since this is our only vehicle and we have two new born babies. I'll have to call the Canadian Ford customer service on Monday but I'm not feeling very optimistic.
  8. UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD INSULATOR - Part # is BT4Z-6N041-A Did anyone confim if it fits on 07-10?
