  1. Lol, she would know better that to think I could do this as I don't have SYNC in mine but thanks anyways. I e-mailed it to her this morning and I am having it laminated at lunch as you suggested. Thanks again!!!
  2. Any vehicle I actually buy I get premium care, if I lease I get wear care insurance. I just know my luck and hate suprise vehicle costs while I'm making a payment. It's bad enough what a vehicle costs me every month withour repair costs on top of it.
  3. Thanks Lex! I think you just made me the hero of my house. My wife just got a new MKS and she has been upset that she hasn't had time to learn how to use the SYNC better. Can't wait to get home and show her the cheat sheet I made her today. jk...jk... :beerchug:
  4. Sorry about the bad site Lex. I have never actually ordered from that site so I didn't know it was so crappy. It really is a good product for getting decontamination out of paint though. I know someone who was driving past an airport while a jet must have been dumping fuel and it covered his truck in the weirdest film that absolutely would not buff/claybar out. He took it to a shop by the airport and they said they see that all the time. They washed it with this product and it looked like new in one day. If you can buy it local I would definitely give it a try.
  5. I would also suggest using this paint decontamination system. This is an awesome system for decontamination and there is no risk of going through the clear. Oh and no I have no affiliation with this company lol, just trying to help. Edit: Also, as bbf stated, this has nothing to do with the plastic bumper material. There is a clear coat layer on top of the paint that is extremely durable, but some bugs and bird droppings are very caustic and can do alot of damage fast.
  6. When mine failed I had several lights that would illuminate on the dash on and off and then the next day they stayed on.
  7. This is what I would recommend based on your description of the problem if the clay bar doesn't work as bbf suggested.
  8. I have purchased alot of new Ford vehicles and on my warranty paperwork the mileage that is on the vehicle when I take delivery is always added to the 36,000 I thought. So if it has 500 miles on it when I take delivery the warranty will end at 36,500.
  9. I would make an appointment to take it in and have it looked at under warranty asap, that would drive me nuts.
  10. Sorry, double post.
  11. Glad to hear you are ok, that is one heck of a hit! I really am suprised that the curtain and side seat air bags did not deploy though.
  12. Excellent advice bbf! Also remember the estimate I gave you was with our local rates of $42hr body/paint and $24hr material, your region may be much higher. If you want, take pictures of the estimate (with your personal info covered of course) and post them on here and I would be more than happy to give it a look. Also ask your dealership if they are participating in Ford's new "Owner Advantage" program. It is a rewards card with no cost to you and you should get $10 parts/service credit to start and 5% credit for everything you spend after that. It is a great program that is just being rolled out.
  13. Very good pictures. I write estimates for a living, and based on what I can see in the pictures you should be looking at around $500 depending on labor rates in your area. They will have to repair and refinish the quarter panel and blend the rear door to ensure a good color match. If you have any questions about the estimate you receive, just let me know.
  14. Be VERY careful if you are going to try and "fill in the scratch". Wherever you get your touch up paint it would take a minor miracle for it to match especially if it is closer to the top of the panel where you look more often. There are several alternates to factory paints and with the lighters colors such as this it just makes the odds worse that it will match. The light sage color has alot of metallic in it and if the metallic doesn't lay the same it won't look right. There won't be clear coat over the touch up paint also so it won't have the shine of the rest. There is a big difference in touching up a scratch vs touching up a stone chip or a chip of paint off the edge of a door.
  15. Lol, my wife and I were just talking about this and how we both do it.
  16. Just hit 10k miles and the only issues I have had have been pretty minor and have had no problem getting them resolved. 1. Driver side b-pillar trim outer seperated from inner. 2. 18" chrome clad wheels replaced. 3. ABS sensor replaced. Overall we are very happy with our Edge and other than not having much faith that these wheels aren't going to peel also, have no complaints.
  17. I never use anything other than good old regular octane in my Edge and have never had any spark knock. I would say anything else would be a waste of money imo.
  18. Try running your thumbnail across the scratch, if it doesn't catch it will probably buff, but if it catches your nail pretty good you are probably going to need a bodyshop. I would not recommend even trying to touch it up as it will likely look worse when you are done. Also with light sage if the scratches are close to an adjacent panel it will probably have to be painted also to ensure a good color match. Like the person above said, if you could post some pictures it would be helpful.
  19. Dealer replaced the wheels on my '07 Edge with 9k miles no questions asked. A speed sensor went bad the day before my appointment so they took care of that at the same time. The total bill was $1931.32 to Ford and the new wheels look identical to the ones replaced. I am happy that they took care of my problem since I did pay extra for these premium wheels, but I can't believe they aren't going to remove the lip on the 18" wheels as they have the 20" chrome clad ones.
  20. The only thing is if you try and paint them and it doesn't look right they will not warranty them.
  21. I have this corrosion on all four of my wheels also. Was told wheels are on national backorder and unsure how long untill shipped. Also check the chrome around your foglights, I have heard they are having issues with those also, although mine are ok for now. Other than that, I really do love my Edge and at least it sounds like they are going to take care of the problem.
