  1. We had it thrown in for no charge on our new vehicle.. There's nothing really wrong with more protection in the long run.. I had the insurance on another Vehicle and got a nice pay out from them when I traded in. It won't/shouldn't cause any issues in value of the vehicle.. Ford has admitted they screwed up royally.. From the GM's I've spoke with they typically won't care 3-5 years down the road or whenever you trade up.
  2. Nightmare is done for us FINALLY.. New vehicle delivered this afternoon after they spent a few days testing for leaks and anything else they could think of.. Nice to see the Management team there to thank us for being so patient.. After 3 months of this nightmare, 4 rental vehicles from Budget.. It's nice to have OUR truck in the garage tonight.. Just waiting on the compensation from Ford which should be to us early next week.. They've also waved our payments until next month as well which was nice. Good luck to everyone who's still going through this.. If you need any tips etc feel free to get in touch..
  3. All signed sealed and delivered today, just waiting on the nice cheque now lol.. The shop manager & leads drowned the 'bejebers' out of the new vehicle over the last few days testing for leaks.. Not one found! Production was late July/August according to the paperwork.. Had all of 8km's on it when I got the keys this afternoon. I guess there was a big conference out east and our service guys made sure to ride Ford hard about our truck.. Apparently they got some pretty good apologies out of those from head office.
  4. Nightmare is one step closer to finish.. We emptied out our stuff from the old vehicle with some help from the Shop guys. New vehicle is just getting prepped for us to drive away with.. Should hopefully be done by next week.. Still getting financial compensation from Ford which is nice. Still can't get over the fact there was 2300 defective units made.. Oye
  5. Funny part was we knew about this before the dealer did, so when we went in to see our Sales rep they had no Idea ha ha nor did the owner of the dealership.. The phone calls were great to hear.. GM has got everything arranged, we got a new one that's en-route to the dealership this weekend.. Recall checks etc have been done, they're going to do some additional checks once its off loaded to tripple check things.. 3M etc being done on the vehicle before we take possession, along with our Winter tires being installed for us.. And we're getting a nice cheque from Ford Canada as well for compensation..
  6. My nightmare is over.. 60+ Days.. Ford told me to go into the dealership and pick a new vehicle.. Bout F'n time i told them!!
  7. One of the reasons I don't mind the rental.. Purchased a SEL.. Rental is a Titanium so I don't mind the upgrade ha ha.. I've gone head on at ford with the dealership General Manager on my side (Along with the shop manager, Shop leads and others) trying to get them to take back my swimming pool.. The GM Had a BRAND NEW non-effected unit sitting out front we could of driven away with that afternoon.. Nope.. GM Asked for an explanation, they skirted around and said that our vehicle doesn't meet the requirements..My vehicle is the worst any dealer has seen in Western Canada.. They've had a few come in with minor water issues, that they were able to get back to the owner in 48hrs..
  8. More than likely, doesn't sound like shifts are back fully yet by what I've been told.. Could be awhile..
  9. Yep! We had some light snow dropped in the Mountain parks, and in/around the Calgary AB area.. Was gone by the next morning ha ha
  10. Coming up on 60 days of my NEW vehicle still sitting at the dealership waiting for parts.. Had the vehicle only 48hrs before having to take it in.. Last update from Ford Corporate was; - Everyone is on an emergency wait list for parts.. But they won't tell the dealer or you where you are in the queue - No ETA for parts.. (No shock..) - Dealer has tried to get ford just to take the damn vehicle back (Interior is stripped right down which looks kinda cool to see in a way..) and they continue to reject - Ford HAS agreed to Financial compensation once this is all done.. - Dealership is begging ford for more money for our rental as our 60 days is just about up.. In the meanwhile I continue to make their lives hell on Twitter, Facebook and any of their other Social Media sites.. Spoke with a Lead at the Oakville plant last week, confirmed that NO parts are being produced (Only limited number of new Edges) as Ford has cut shifts at the plant again because of a lack of deliveries from Suppliers. *Sighs* Was hoping to have my vehicle back before it snowed.. Well it snowed yesterday so there went that hope!
  11. Our nightmare continues.. Been so long going, forget how many days its been really.. Was on the BC Ferry from Victoria to Vancouver this morning when I got a call from our "Customer Service Manager".. Went to voicemail as I was trying to enjoy the end of our holidays... Yeah no good news at all.. We're on an "Emergency wait list" for parts.. Apparently she can't tell us where we are in the queue.. Still making payments on a shell that's sitting at the dealership (everything's ripped out).. Oh but they'll look at compensation once everything's completed.. On our second rental unit with Budget, they swaped us out because we racked up the KM's on the first one... and on our way to doing it to the 2nd one too ha ha.. The way this is going, I'll be lucky to see my truck before it snows..
  12. They resumed production quite sometime ago..
  13. Another week... Another story from Ford.. Upside.. Ford Corporate finally agreed to take over making my payments until this gong show gets fixed.. Downside.. Buy back was refused (Even though the GM of the dealership had a brand new unit available for us to take right away).. Parts still haven't been produced/Shipped.. Everything except two parts are here and ready.. Once they actually show up our service manager said he can get everything put together and us back in our vehicle within 72-96hrs.. So the nightmare continues.. 38 days and counting
  14. Considering this error was Human caused.. I hope they make some changes big time..
  15. Must be an american thing because number doesn't work in Canada when I call.. Unleashing the hounds on Ford Canada corporate office as we speak
  16. Well It's monday.. Heard back from the dealership today, Ford Canada won't buy back our vehicle.. even with the GM saying that they have a brand new unit waiting for us to drive off the lot.. Not sure why they wont considering the dampness and what not it sat through in our heatwave here in Calgary.. Ford's agreed to make the next payment to Ford Credit on my truck (And will continue to until I get my vehicle back) No update on these 2 parts that the shop is awaiting for.. Shop Manager is hoping to hear back Tomorrow or Wednesday regarding this.. Soon as these do arrive they can put my truck back together again. Will be chasing down my Customer Service Manager who hates me at Corporate to find out why they won't just take it back.. Can't win em all, but I'll keep banging on the windows there.
  17. Slight update.. Had a meeting with the Dealership I purchased the vehicle from Friday afternoon.. Met with the GM and the Shop Manager.. They showed me all the documents related to the Stop sell order which was put out in Canada, the day after I purchased our unit and the 22 page repair document that their staff have been reviewing. The Stop Sell order is still in effect for Edge's produced withiin a certain date frame across Canada from what they know of as well. Everything's been ordered and received so far but their currently waiting on 2 parts which haven't been produced.. These will be shipped once they come off the line in either Oakville or US.. Entire interior including wiring will have to be re-done.. If these 2 parts come out next Tuesday (Pending no more Ford Corporate delays) they should be here by End of week and then the dealership can finally start getting to work. GM Feels awful about all this, they didn't think the unit I purchased would be effected and the Shop Manager feels just as bad because we shouldn't be going through all this.. They have a brand new unit on the lot at the moment, GM has put in a request for Ford to buy back my vehicle so they can get me into this one.. Would be nice to we can get on with our lives this summer... Will know more on Monday whether the waiting game continues or I get a brand new vehicle.
  18. My horror story is still going and I'm at my whits end currently.. Just got told today it could be another 3 - 4 weeks due to "Delays". Carpet hasn't even been ordered yet.. Ford has found some more issues.. Calling BS right across Canada.. For anyone in Canada I did find this handy link for Government assistance - http://www.camvap.ca/arbitration/agreement/#27 Currently waiting for contact from an Arbitrator and my media friends.
  19. Still waiting for ours to be fixed.. They upgraded our Rental vehicle for us which was nice.. Ford Canada admitted one of the machines wasn't set properly at the plant, and that's what caused this whole fiasco.. Apparenlty ours is the worst 2 of the Ford Executives have seen during this recall (Not sure that's a good thing at all...) Once my Edge DOES get fixed, someone from Ford Canada Speciality Unit is supposed to be flying out to give it a tripple check over and to make sure the carpet & underlay is done properly.. Still looking at another 2 weeks atleast, but atleast I'm getting more regular info from my contact at Ford Corporate now.. Think I ruffled enough feathers the last month.. Just want my vehicle back!!
  20. Not a clue at the moment bklein61.. Just got off the phone with my contact at Ford Corporate office.. She's checking to see if there's anything that can be done to put a rush on this carpet.. She's also looking into financial compensation as well. What..a...mess..
  21. Just got a call from our Dealer here in Calgary.... Vehicles been in since June 29th (We purchased on June 26th so I only had it for 72hrs..) All the parts are in to fix, but its 2-3 weeks minimum before we see the vehicle due to a delay with the carpet.. Stuck with the rental.. Even though we can't put our dogs into it and our daughters car seat barely fits.. They won't just give us a new vehicle either..
  22. Well.. Sure glad I found this forum.. Here's my on-going saga.. Have a special needs daughter and we need some more room so figured we'd trade up and Bought a brand new 2015 Edge SEL here in Calgary.. Picked up on Friday after it was detailed.. Carpets were wet but they said it was from the detailing, drive with the windows down and it'll dry up.. Friday night.. Passenger side & rear area starting to dry... Driver side soaked.. Saturday Mid-Day.. Passenger/Rear area bone dry.. Driver side soaked.. Sunday... Driver area still wet.. gone through about half dozen towels.. Monday.. I'm working nights so wife takes it into the dealer at 8am.. Told their busy and can't look til tomorrow at earliest.. Gave wife a rental.. Tuesday.. "Oh sorry we can't look at it today, I only have one trim guy and he's busy.. We're closed tomorrow.. Maybe thursday he can look".. Wake up after getting some sleep from Night shift... Go down to dealer.. Sales Manager see's me.. Tell him what's going on and I've already got Ford Corporate involved.. "We'll get you an update by tonight promise".. Tuesday Night.. Ford Corporate calls to let me know they talked to the dealer and they'll update me by tonight.. Corp will follow up Friday due to the holidays.. Late Tuesday Night.. Dealer calls Oh there's a recall of your vehicle and we're waiting to hear from Ford" @($*(@#&@(*!!!!!! So these numbskulls are still selling these units damn well knowning that there's a major issue.. "Supposed" To have the vehicle back tomorrow, but seeing everyone's posts.. I'm not getting my hopes up any! We've also got that damn rattle coming from the back driver side as well..
