  1. The amp is attached to the box that houses the sub. In most cases, these amps are designed for only they sub they're attached to. An after-market sub would not be given enough power to really sing.
  2. I sometimes get this but it goes away if I crank up the vent.
  3. Lex, even you can't out-talk this guy. Don't bother trying. Lets just stay home and be safe. Update, I've got it! I am going to encase my edge in an airtight oversized hamster ball and roll around town laughing at all the contaminant-breathing fools I see.
  4. I put a deflector on about a year back and I remember it being a bit of a pain. However, I don't think we can offer any help without photos of where you're getting hung up.
  5. I have the exact same problem but only on the driver's side. Took it to the dealer twice for all-day dropoffs with only slighlty noticable improvement. Very annoying.
  6. I have the rear one and we love it. Looks good and cleans easy with hose rinse and a towel. I have young kids and the first spilled milk cup made it worth it.
  7. My Edge only has the screen so I wear a surgical mask every time I get in.
  8. I got the OEM Ford deflector and I love it. I'm not real savvy at auto work of any kind so drilling holes into the underside of my hood was a bit nerve-wrecking. It worked out great though and really added to the look of the rig in my opinion.
  9. Yes, you'll have to cut a small indent on the opposite side of the LED that's pointing backwards so that you can flip it. Should take about 30 seconds with an Exatco. Those things a incredibly bright though! I'm not sure I like the flashlight look.
  10. As if a dealer would actually steer you into the "right" vehicle rather than what they have in stock and what they can make the most profit on. Just the thoughts of someone that spent his early 20s selling Fords...
  11. Just a quick question--I've seen a lot of remote start installs done and I'm just curious, what did you have to "solder"?
  12. Just a little advice--if you've never installed a remote start system before, stop now and take it somewhere. A lot of time and money can be burned up with small mistakes. The newer the car, the more difficult the install.
  13. And the award for "random question of the year" goes to...
  14. Such impressive credentials...however, no speaker or sub will ever reach its potential without a proper amp to drive it. Surely, you can admit to that. I am not the kid that pulls up next to you in the '94 Civic with his doors rattling and I too consider myself to be an audio enthusiast. I can list off brand names off high-end home theater products (however I may be under-qualified as it is a hobby and not a career) but the moment that I mention to someone that I hooked my Martin Logans (yes I own them and yes I know there are better speakers available) to a Sears home-theater-in-a-box, I will be laughed out of any forum. For me, adding an amp had nothing to do with me wanting my neighbors to here my music--rather, I wanted to unlock the potential of the sub I purchased. Each owner can do what they wish but my advice is not to use a Ford amplifier that was never meant to power anything other than the sub it was paired with.
  15. I put a 10" Alpine in the back of mine to replace the piece of garbage that was in there. Just for kicks, I hooked it up to the factrory amp to see what it would sound like. Suffice it to say that I get more base out of my clock radio than the factory amp/aftermarket sub combo. Do not believe for a second that aftermarket audio equipment requires "less" power. In fact, aftermarket speakers don't really start to sing unless you add an amp to them as well. I now have Kappa's in the doors and the 10" Alpine behind the right rear panel being driven by two alpine amps.
  16. I went down to my local dealer and ordered a bezel (the front of the two pieces that make up the door handle) that was made for the passenger side. I used that bezel on the driver side and, presto, no key hole and perfect OEM color match. Also, if you order the '09 Lincoln MKX handles, you can get perfect-fit handles and bezels in chrome for about $215.
  17. Mine is quiet as a mouse. That doesn't sound right at all.
  18. I'm a little new to the aftermarket world so can someone explain to me how these tuners work? I don't understand why the auto manufacturers don't just tune them for more power and better mileage at the factory.
  19. I put Kappas in my edge both in front and back. First I had them powered only by the factory unit and they sounded great. I added an Alpine 4-channel amp just to take some of the stress off of the deck and I was able to hear a much more powerful low-mid and bass response. New speakers are certainly worth it.
  20. So I took mine in today for the final fix. They actually ended up replacing my entire wheel in addition to the sensor assembly. Seems to be fine now.
