  1. Just had my Edge in for an oil change today and was talking to the service guy again about the rattle, he said that they are actually up to 6 Edges now through their dealership, that are waiting on the fix from Ford.
  2. Talked to my service adviser a few days ago, he checked to see if there was anything new from when the Ford Engineers came in and checked out the other two that have the same problem that my dealer is handling, so far nothing on a fix, but he did originally say it could take up to six weeks or so. I am not even taking mine back until something more comes in from the engineers. The original fix for the problem, that did not work for me or the other two, was to re-weld a bracket for the moonroof. As soon as I hear something, I will post it.
  3. The last I heard back from my dealer, a week or so ago, was that they had Ford Engineers in to look at the other two that were there with the rattle. He told me that they did whatever was needed to check things out and then they left. He said it could now be up to 6 weeks and Ford should have a TSB out for it. Of course he told me that the other fix, (welding the bracket), was also a TSB that Ford issued for the rattle. He also said something about them leaning toward some type of "body flex" issue versus something just rattling. Either way, mine still makes the noise, and I'm just waiting it out now.
  4. I just got a call from my service adviser, as I had told him my rattle was still there, just not as bad as before. He tells me that he currently has two other Edges in with the rattle back again, after performing the bracket welding fix to those, like he did to mine. He said the bracket weld fix was from Ford, and he has notified Ford that it didn't work. Currently, I am just going to keep my Edge until he calls me back that they have come up with a fix for it, instead of leaving my Edge there with the other two. They can use those others as the "guinea pig".
  5. Yes, I still get the "jingling" noise. If I push up and release multiple times rapidly on the headliner above my head, I can kind of replicate the noise sitting still, as there is a metal to metal tapping noise. I assume driving down the road it probably vibrates faster causing the "jingling" sound, if that makes any sense? I also still have the louder rattle going over the really bad bumps, but it sound more behind me now instead of right above.
  6. Driving over some of the same roads that I know used to cause the rattle, is now quiet. But other roads that are really bad will cause the same/similar noise above the headliner, and it almost now sounds like it is above the rear seat instead of above me. With already having another rattle fixed before, it just makes me wonder if there is a third? As to my "jingling" type noise, (that is above my head), I wonder if that is the magnet rattle that was talked about originally in this thread? Since my headliner has been down multiple times, something probably came loose, even though the dealer did replace several parts this last time to help prevent other rattles.
  7. Since getting my Edge back almost a week now since the weld repair, I now have a "jingling" type noise above my head. Sounds like a metal to metal movement noise like something is slightly loose. I have also noticed that the original rattle noise is still there, it just takes rougher roads now for it to show up.
  8. There is a bunch of information about this rattle in the "2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II" section under 2015 Edge & MKX. I have had two different rattles repaired on my SEL with Vista Roof, one was the side airbag mounts tapping the roof, and the other was a bad weld on a bracket for the moonroof. At least two other people have had the bad weld diagnosis on theirs too. The info is in the "Headliner Magnet Rattle- Vista Roof" discussion.
  9. Ok, got the Edge back. The repair order isn't very detailed, but here is what it says: "Made several test drives, removing, installing and adjusting parts, also shifted and vibrated parts to create rattle noise. After several drives and many interior adjustments, and removal of headliner, found the pinch weld holding sunroof mounting bracket had a bad weld. Vehicle to be sent to body shop. They re-welded the pinch welds, test drove and rattle gone". Even though the repair order states they re-welded, my service adviser originally told me they were installing rivets and some type of special glue, so I am not sure which they did, (or maybe all three). I drove it to the store and home for a total of about an hour after picking it up, and so far this second noise I have had, is gone. Now for all my trouble with this, while looking over the car when I picked it up, I found a door ding in the rear passenger door that I am sure was not there before, of course I can't swear to that and when I pointed it out to my adviser, they didn't offer up anything. I guess I need to call a paintless dent service to see if they can fix it. One last thing, the service adviser told me he had another Edge coming in next week with the same exact rattle noise for them to fix. He is anticipating the same weld problem.
  10. My dealer called me late this afternoon and said my Edge is done, so I will be picking it up tomorrow. They said they got everything fixed and there are no more noises. I will post what my repair order says they did, but they said this was the second issue with a similar noise, that first fix they did to the side curtain brackets solved that one, and then this one was the bad weld.
  11. I'm still anxiously awaiting for my fix too. The one part they are waiting on to reinstall the headliner did not ship out Monday. It was supposed to ship out today with arrival tomorrow, (I hope).
  12. I got an update from my dealer today, some of the parts they ordered to reinstall the headliner arrived yesterday, (these are small installation parts that they did not want to reuse, especially with this being the second time the headliner was removed), but one part that is needed did not come in and is listed as backordered. They got word that is should ship on Monday the 18th, (but with that being a holiday, will that delay it another day?) So it looks like I won't get it back till at least the middle of next week or later, provided what they did fixed the rattle.
  13. Yep, that is what I was wondering too, especially if it was the same bracket and weld. Funny thing is, I am in Ohio, and it looks like dennismi is in Ohio too.
  14. Well, in my case, it appears as though I had two different problems. Like I said before, the first time mine was in, they traced it down to the side curtain mounts tapping the sheet metal (I assume they meant the roof?). They removed all the mounts and used an anti-rattle kit with anti-rattle tape, and that did fix the noise for about 6 weeks or so. Then a noise started up again with it getting progressively worse. The noise sounded like the same as the first time it was in, but this time they said I had a bad weld in a moonroof bracket. I have talked to them several times, and I am still waiting to get mine back. They have put most of it back together, but they had to order in some replacement parts to reinstall the headliner properly. Once I get it back, I will post exactly what the repair order says, and if it fixed it for now.
  15. I wonder if that is the same weld that my dealer said is causing my rattle. The last I talked to them, they said they removed the weld, and put in rivets and some type of glue that is used to install roofs?? Hopefully I'll have mine back by the end of the week and I'll post exactly what they did, and if it seems to fix it this time.
  16. Mine is still at the dealer, they tell me I should get it back either Wednesday or Thursday as they are still putting the headliner back in and then they want to drive it to make sure they got the rattle this time, and did not create a new one.
  17. I have had my '15 Edge since August, and have had rattle issues since a couple of weeks after getting it. The first time it went in they traced it to the side curtain supports, tapping the sheet metal. They took all four curtain supports off and installed a "rattle" kit and anti-rattle tape. That solved the issue for about 6 weeks, and then the rattle, or at least a similar one started up again and got progressively worse. I just took it back in this past Tuesday to be looked at, and now they tell me they found a pinch weld in the sunroof mount that is flexing and causing the rattle. It's now in the body shop getting that fixed. Hopefully that solves it this time.
  18. I like the look of it, (on other vehicles, as I haven't seen one on a 2015 yet), and I am thinking it should prevent any paint chips on that front surface of the hood. I originally wasn't sure about it since I had not seen one on a '15 yet, but when I ordered the visors, I just went ahead with the AeroSkin too.
  19. I just ordered a set of in-channel visors and an AeroSkin shield for my 2015 last Friday, so I don't have them yet. Both are made by AVS. I was wanting Weathertech, but as you said they don't make them yet.
  20. I've set off the horn in my garage several times with the fob in my pocket, even once in a parking lot just getting into my Edge. As soon as I sat down in the seat, the horn started honking! I assume the other keys on my ring get "tangled" around the fob while in my pocket, causing the button to be pushed. I had a 2013 F-150 before this Edge, and I think I have already set off the horn more times in the 4 months I have had the Edge, than the 2-1/2 years I had the F-150.
  21. That is the biggest complaint I also have with my 2015 Edge SEL, is that the front of the seat does not go down low enough. If I put the front at its lowest position, it is still too high under my legs. If I raise the back part of the seat to a spot that seems to relieve this, then my head hits the ceiling (I have the pano roof). It seems like raising the rear, also raises the whole seat even though it is a 10 way seat.
  22. I am planning on stopping by my dealer soon and let the service advisor listen to it to see if this is normal. I'll let you know what they say after I do.
  23. Yes, there is heat at the bottom of the front seats coming out to the rear, but this air noise I am hearing is coming from near the two vents at the rear top of the console. It is almost like whatever they use to close off those two vents to keep the hot air from coming out of them is right there, and the air is blasting against it.
  24. I just noticed a similiar issue with mine this morning, first time it was cool enough for the heat to come on instead of AC. I have a very loud air movement noise that is coming from the rear of the console,. I sat in the back seat and confirmed this. Funny thing is, for as loud as it is, there is very little air movement coming out of these vents, (and yes, I made sure they were open). I turned off my "auto" setting, and turned the fan up manually all the way and still very little air out of the vents. So I lowered my temperature setting down to allow the AC to come on instead, then all kinds of air blasted through the vents, and the air noise I was hearing was gone. I wonder if there is some type of "flap" that closes or partially closes to cut back on the air out of these vents when heat is on, and it is causing this loud air noise I am hearing, (increases the noise due to the resistance)?
