  2. Here is what I was told....unless your vehicle is experiencing any type of heat loss or lack of heat, this field action does not apply to you. The obvious best way to know is by turning the heat on in your car. If you have perfectly good heat coming out (that's the case with me), then there is no need to bring the car in under this field action. I was a bit disappointed since I noticed the antifreeze/coolant in my vehicle is very dark and probably could use a flush/change. Hoping to have had this done under this field action but, I'll have to have it done on my "dime". Best Regards,
  3. Not sure if this issue your having is related to this recent field action from Ford....http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19433-cooling-system-corrosion-recall/?p=143431. Here's some more information on this...http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/TSb/DownloadPdf?id=182324
  4. I have an appointment with my local dealer to have this looked at
  5. Thanks for the research and posting with more details on this!
  6. Fellow Edge Members, Just got the following Field Service Action from Ford..... You can call Ford at....1-866-436-7332 to see if you vehicle qualifies for this action. Through my call with Ford and understanding, Ford will evaluate your cooling system to determine if you need a cooling flush at no charge to you. FSA Title: COOLING SYSTEM CORROSION Field Service Action Number: 09M04
  7. Sorry about this misinformation...I meant the fuel filter not the pump is it serviceable? I've read the fuel filter is not?
  8. Thanks for the reply! I noticed two "openings" where I thought one would snap into but, was'tn sure.
  9. Hello Everyone, Purchased a 2008 Ford Edge SEL AWD with approximately 68k miles on it and a 3.5 engine. As strange as it may be, I've been trying to figure out what's wrong with the look of the engine when it dawned on me the engine access/appearance cover is missing. Does anyone have any thoughts on where I can buy one at a reasonable price? Look forward to your replies! George,
  10. Yes, I just purchased the car about a month ago with approximately 67k miles on it and was "smart" enough to buy an extended warranty. So glad I did!
  11. UPDATE: Just picked up my 08 Edge. Running great now! Issue causing the problem (according to my local dealer who did the work): The tone ring on the left front wheel went bad. Unfortunately, in this case the entire front left drive shaft had to be replaced. The tone ring is wielded on to the shaft and the only way to replace it. Consequently, the vibration issue I was also having was related to the shaft. Now that the shaft was replaced, it runs great. Thankfully, my extended warranty covered this. Was able to solve two issues for the price of one. Hope this helps someone with a similar issue!
  12. UPDATE: Just picked up my 08 Edge. Running great now! Issue causing the problem (according to my local dealer who did the work): Left front drive shaft. I was having an issue with the traction control, ABS and Wrench light coming on after 65. The issue causing this was the tone ring went bad. Unfortunately, the entire front left drive shaft had to be replaced. The tone ring is wielded on to the shaft and the only way to replace it. What helped with the lights coming on was the ECM throw out a C1233 code. Consequently, the vibration issue I was having was related to the shaft. Now that the shaft was replaced, it runs great. Thankfully my extended warranty paid off and covered this. Was able to solve two issues for the price of one. Hope this helps someone with a similar issue!

  14. Thanks for the write up!...very helpful and useful. I thought I read in my Service & Repair Manual the fuel pump was not serviceable and in the fuel tank? I have an 2008 SEL AWD with the 3.5 engine and about 68k miles.
  15. You got off easy.....I'm experiencing the same problem but, at higher speeds. It did throw a C1233 code (wheel sensor) but, after replacing the wheel sensor, it still did not fix the issue. Now waiting to hear from the Ford dealer on what the issue is. Been reading it could also be a damaged tone ring.
  16. Hello Did this take 40 minutes with the use of a lift?
  17. I was looking for a way to fix the buttons on my radio without having to replace the whole radio. Came across a vendor in Ebay that sells button stickers for my radio. Was a bit skeptical it would work and look good (I'm very picky) but, at just $10 bucks I didn't have much to lose. Was I ever surprised!....Followed the instructions to a tee and was very happy with the results. See before and after pictures below. I don't work for or get paid from this vendor but, I do believe in spreading the word and helping others out who are looking for a "resourceful" way to fix this problem. World Wide Decals is the name of the vendor. Hope this information helps someone out.......
  18. No such error message yet....that's what makes this so different from the other threads on this issue. Waiting to hear back from the dealer sometime this morning. Will post findings.
  19. Just took my 08 AWD in today with the exact same problem. Wish I would have seen this post before.
  20. It's a bit odd in that I've read other threats with similar symptoms but, in my case I'm not "throwing" any other codes related to OSS and TSS sensors needing replacement.
  21. Sorry to report replacing the ABS speed sensor did not solve my problem (even though I got a C1233 code) with the wrench, traction control and ABS lights coming on after traveling above 65.....since I have an extended warranty I took the car to my local Ford "stealer". I'll update everyone on their findings tomorrow.
  22. May have found the problem and a solution....this past weekend the ABS, Traction Control and "Wrench" light all came on at the same time after reaching 65 on the speedometer. After slowing down and stopping the lights would clear themselves. Even though no check engine light came on I took the car to Autozone to have it scanned. It did should code C1233....wheel speed sensor. After looking in my repair and service manual this code is for the LF ABS wheel sensor. Showing it is not communicating or reading the LF (driver side front)wheel. I suspect this may be the cause of that vibration as well I've been feeling and why the lights are coming on. Decided to just replace the sensor....$33. Had to order it from my local Autozone. Should have it by today and installed. Will post an update later today or tomorrow. Hope this information helps someone.....
