  1. No doubt! This does make me think twice about buying a ford ever again. Heck, i used to drive Mitsu's...NOT one of the BIG Japanese brands. Had 2 Montero Sports and an Endeavor over the course of about 10 years. Those things were wickedly reliable. Sadly as my needs for high tech in a car grew Mitsu fell way behind. I think Mitsubishi is still putting 8 Tracks in their infotainment system (kidding). My edge titanium is exactly what i want in a car as far as luxury, drive and technology......but damn all these things that make it stop and go are enough to make me think about trading out. Combined with 2+ months waiting for parts? Loosing faith in the brand. Over reacting? Possibly. But i've never had to worry about such things on a brand new 35K+ car.
  2. I have to agree. Previous cars for the past 20 years have been Japanese and all very reliable with no real issues. My Edge will be a year old come Thanksgiving. Its already had the STALLING issue taken care of and now this. It almost SEEMS like we are beta testers and that many of these edge's are not ready for prime time. Don't get me wrong, i love it but its come with extra 'baggage' that i am simply not used to.
  3. Exciting announcement! The 2017 follow up to the block buster movie below has been announced. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0437800/ Akeelah and the Bee Its called "akirby and the Bee" Should be a blockbuster.
  4. OOOps, sorry...try this If you brakes ghrab/byte
  5. Dropped the Edge off today for regular service. Told them about this issue and gave them the printed out info from the link above. The new booster is on 'serious backorder and may take several months to get in'. So, its ordered and i am on the waiting list. If your breaks grab/bite, i'd suggest getting with your service dept and getting on the list of parts.
  6. THIS IS HUGE! Thanks for posting it! I will print this and take it to my dealer.
  7. HA! And my #1 pet peeve are the Spelling Nazi's that clutter up a thread. Did my spelling mistake totally throw you or did you have a clue as to what my issue was? To all else, is this known issue something covered under warranty or is this considered normal wear an tear?
  8. AHHHH! Hard Bite describes it perfectly! This a warranty thing?
  9. Over the past 2 months my 2015 Edge (not even a year old - 14K miles) has grabbing breaks. I have owned (way too many) new cars in my life, this is the first car i have ever experienced where i lean in to do a slow break and it grabs unnaturally. Is this something that is a known issue? D
  10. aKirby, Thanks for the tip. Anywhere under the bumper or is there a specific area like directly under the center of the door area (where my hitch is now)
  11. Here is how sad my knowledge of my edge was. It was not until i was hooking up my trailer for the 1st time that i realized i had a sensor to open the door. I bent down to put the lock on the hitch and the door surprisingly opened and bumped me. Very unexpected. I thought i'd hit the button on my keyfob that was in my pocket. It only dawned on me a week later when it did it again. Silly me, i had no idea my Titanium had this feature. Now, when i want to MAKE it work (stuff in my hands) its not very reliable......just when i dont need it open whil i am hooking up a trailer. Oh my!
  12. Its the heat of the summer and my old dual round sun visors for my old car are TINY compared to the windshield in my Edge. What are you cats using for a sun visor that fits your edge?
  13. All is well with the Throttle Body replacement. We took a trip over the holiday weekend. 3.5 hours each way. Not a burp, fart or glitch with the Edge!
  14. The service adviser emailed me and said my new TB is the new one. Keeping fingers crossed that this problem is behind me.
  15. But here is my question. IF they got a new run of TB's wouldnt the part number be the same? What way can i tell if they installed one for the 2016's in my 2015?
  16. ON the invoice before the TB description it has this AT4Z*9E926*B Not sure if thats it or some internal code.
  17. Thanks to WWW and Old Ray for this info. 'Limp home mode', makes sense....and aptly named. I will copy and paste the link Old ray sent me to the service adviser to see if they know if the Throttle body is new stock or old crap sitting on the parts shelf. Wonder what cruddy supplier in a 3rd world country Ford sourced for these throttle bodies?
  18. Got it back and it seems fine. Of course i am now hypersensitive to every thing my engine does...but that will pass. What still gives me the brain pain is this....if the TB was going wonky...then why did the car go to 'autopilot' and idol at 20-25 mph? Is that a safety feature? Is that just the TB getting stuck in a sweet spot? Its been years since i have had a car get funky on me...but back in the day when something went out...it went out! I dont suppose i know enough about what a TB does but is it by design to maintain a slow cruzing speed? D
  19. A quick google search of "Ford Throttle Body" shows a unflattering history of Ford's relationship with Throttle Bodies in various cars. Just glad i got the extended warranty. D
  20. UPDATE: Just got a call from the Dealership. They said they put in a new Throttle body and it now checks out fine. Color me skeptical. Is this going to be an ongoing problem with these Edge's?
  21. Thanks for all this. Sadly i am not on twitter. Any other way to contact them? Right now my Edge is in the hands of the dealership. They put me in a rental F150.
  22. I found it! Here is the skinny on my edge. Build Date: 15.10.2015 Vehicle Line: Edge 2015- Body Style: 5 Door SAV Version: Series 60 Engine: 3.5L Cyclone V6 Petrol TI-VCT Transmission: 6 Speed Auto Transmission 6F50 Drive: LHD FWD Axle Ratio: 3.16
  23. Good question and i dont think i know the answer off hand. I watched these forums closely during my time of purchase and had read that if they were MFG'd after July/August of 2015 the issues were resolved. I drove my salesman and sales manager nuts as we vetted each possible car. I wore them out till we found one that fit exactly what i wanted. I even had them check to see if the TSB had been flashed. Mine was manufactured in October of 2015. Needless to say the issues have not been solved. I will see if i can find what engine my car has. I suppose a VIN search will tell me, right? What is the ford website that can search the VIN? ANyone know?
  24. Well, there were two MAJOR issues i fretted about when researching the 2015 Edge. One was the Flooding due to sealing the pillar. Second was the stalling issues. Saturday afternoon when getting ON an interstate ramp my car stalled and my dashboard lit up with all kinds of errors. I pulled over. Turned it off and restarted. WHEN i restarted it sounded almost as if it was not going to start at all. Like an old old old truck just struggling to turn over. It did and the rest of that day went fine. Sunday (yesterday) i was out doing an errand. When i turned into my neighborhood (20mph speed limit) the car did it again. Here is what i noticed. If you dont pull over and restart then the car will drive at 20-25 mph. You can goose the gas pedal but nothing happens. The car 'autopilots' at 20-25mph. I even came to a stop. When i took my foot off the break the car accelerated UP to 20-25 mph. See that here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o67XIUPwmb8&feature=youtu.be When i pulled up to the garage the Edge idoled very oddly. Puttering loudly and oddly. Loud enough that it was noticable. See a video here when went from a dead stop to pulling into my garage. Listen to the engine sounds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfyjz2mMETE&feature=youtu.be So this morning i wake up knowing i am taking it to the service department. On my way into work it stalled TWICE! The second time triggered the check engine light that stayed lit. Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Opw85ZCAWg&feature=youtu.be The service department at my dealership had not heard of these problems. Sigh... so hopefully this wont be weeks/months of guesswork. Having read on these forums that ford had bought a couple of these edges back because they could not fix the problem NOW really concerns me. I have only 8800 miles on this Edge. IF a FORD rep is on these boards still...i would greatly appreciate them getting the big wigs at ford involved as they have done for others. Dennis
  25. Enigma, Thanks but Classics are wonky with WIn 10 as there are NO software updates for it as its EOL. As for the steps outlined. Not senseible. I will fill a 100 gig ipod easy. My play lists are 200-300 songs big and i often change the order. No way i am gonna rename all those songs with a 01-digit infront of them. Thanks for the heads up on the link! D
