  1. My ipod classic 160 thats full of my music has died. With those no longer being manufactured i am trying to find an alternative. I see that i can create playlists on USB drives but the problem is the order is lost from Itunes. It simply puts them in Alpha order. NOT good. Is there a trick or tweak to stop it from going in Alpha order and follow the order i created in Itunes? Here are my steps: 1. Create Playlist IN iTunes 2. Add Songs to playlist 3. Insert USB drive 4. Create a folder fof playlist 5. Copy all songs from playlist to USB folder Now, when i follow these steps the order ON the USB drive is the same as the order in itunes. When i plug the USB drive into the Edge it sees them in alpha order. Any help, advice or info on this is greatly appreciated. Dennis
  2. Here is the job Uhaul did on my 2015 Titanium. Thanks for the tips on how to post pictures!
  3. I had Uhaul install mine recently. About 350.00 all told. Does not look too bad. I'd share but i cant figure out how to post images on this forum.
  4. I am clearly on the wrong thread. I have a 2015 Titanium. I could not find any specific threads for the Titanium model. I do have a slew of hitch related questions though.
  5. I have a somewhat GENERAL question about the OEM hitches. On this thread i have seen the Uhaul hitch pictures and it shows the electrcial connections dangling. Does the OEM hitch have a proper plug or mounted plug where the electrical connections dont dangle? If i am gonna spend 350.00 at Uhaul and have dangling wires then i dont mind tossing 200 more at it and having it look nice, neat and tidy.
  6. Makes sense. Does that particular bulb create any extra heat issues i should be concerned about? D
  7. Wizard, I am reading both of your posts above and am a tad confused. In one post you put the H11 at 2000 hours but in the post that follows say the Sylvania H11 gets maybe 150 hours. Is that a lifespan issues with the Sylvania Brand specifically? D
  8. Thanks Wiz, Now with all that you said...is there any danger that the bulb its self is too HOT for the fixture and could create a problem of melting the housing (or other issues)? D
  9. I got the H11. Its a lot 'whiter' than the OEM that comes across as "Manilla Folder yellow". Tonight will be the first real test drive with them.
  10. Nick, this is sage and sound advice, dude, and its just what i did....sort of. I went to autozone last night and spoke to a guy that seems to know his stuff about lights. He pointed me towards the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra's. Last night in 20 degree temps i pulled my HID kit and put in one OEM bulb and one Ultra (to justify the 55 dollar price tag on bulbs). The Silverstar's are in fact whiter and brighter than OEM bulbs. So i changed the OEM and now have two Silverstars that will give me brighter lights than OEM but keep me from blinding on coming traffic.
  11. I have the 35 watt system. I cant say i understand your first sentence in your reply.
  12. My recent upgrade to HID lights has caused several drivers to flash me with their brights. Can the lights be adjusted?
  13. Combined with the fact i am also blinding other drivers. I was under the impression this would not be a problem but after a few motorist have flashed me with their brights, i know its an issue.
  14. Its a harness that does go to the battery, to the lights and has these gold resistor things. I am really getting spooked about frying my electrical system now with all this extra stuff. My wife's jeep had electrical issues that once they start just grow and grow with no end in sight. The day time running lights seem to be only Auto mode, but thats generally how i leave it in all my cars. The way its running now, according to Dan, i am underpowering the ballasts and it will ruin them. They require MORE power. Are there just better bulbs i can put in my edge and get 30% or so better visibility? I'll gladly eat the 150.00 i spent on these lights to prevent thousands of dollars of chasing down an electrical system issue later on. I am the FIRST to admit i am a novice at aftermarket stuff and not crazy about jacking with the battery (which ties to the cars electical system)
  15. This upgrade is gonna be the death of me. Got the kit from Dan at Daytime Brightlights. They accidently sent me the wrong lamps which delayed the install by 2 weeks due to cold weather. This weekend finally got them installed and they are VERY bright.....BUT it seems when you leave the 2015 Edge on AUTO setting we have Day Time Running Lights that require this long snake of a harness to be installed to give extra juice to the ballasts. Sigh... At some point I have to ask myself how much of a hassle is it worth? There are no videos for this harness just instructions that I must read. He told me there are these gold electrical things on these harnesses that get REALLY hot and do NOT mount them to any plastic in the car, just let them hang. So Ill have ballasts mounted, gold super hot electrical things hanging and a crap ton o f wiring harness all in my engine compartment. I cant help but wonder if there are not just some really bright bulbs at Auto zone I can just buy that will marginally improve the visibility. They have been installed only a few days and have had several cars already give me the hi beam flash informing me my Hi Beams are onwhich they are not. I am at a bit of a loss as to how to proceed. Just had to share a bit of frustration with fellow Edge owners. This does NOT reflect on Dan and his company. He has been great getting me the right parts and advising me all along. If I go through the hassle of the wiring harness (and not frying my electrical system) my lights will still be offending on coming drivers plus Ill have all this wiring nonsense in my engine. Im at the crossroads.. D
  16. I installed mine from Daytime Brightligtes and just spoke with Dan about the fact i have Day Time Running Lights...and now must quickly put this big ass harness on it all. Seems i could burn out the ballasts.
  17. Yeiks! Ouch and Ouch. Well, gonna pay close attention to it from now on. I guess i never really thought about it being a problem till now. Fingers frossed!
  18. Akirby, Google "Outback Windshield". The most recent outbacks have a HUGE issue on their hands. Subaru is just now...after a few years, admitting to the problem. It is the ONE big issue that kept me off the Subaru lots when i was looking in the fall. Hate to hijack this thread but i do want to know more about Edge Glass Roof problems so i can be on the lookout for any early signs, if they happen to appear.
  19. Thanks for the update and an end to your story with the vivid details! I think my Edge is the best car/suv I have ever owned and shudder at the thought of losing it due to something like this. What are you going to replace your jacked up edge with, if you don't mind me asking?
  20. Swap? Where is the fishbowl I need to drop my keys in...........
  21. Makes sense. Thanks for helping me get my head around the whole Indexing thing.
  22. Not trying to be 'thick', but I just don't understand why it has to do anything at all. The easiest way to explain it is the interface in my previous Honda's that worked without a glitch were essentially a 'second monitor' for lack of a better example. It plugged into the USB jack and it work instantly and had fast access with no extra stuff going on. With the Mazda and now the Ford Sync it seems seemingly 'intrusive'. I just don't understand why it needs to know about the changes, that's all. Seems very unnecessary. Just cant think of a real reason it needs to 'know' whats on my ipod.....OTHER than Voice commanding my way through the library. Again, this is not a huge problem at all. I was more curious than anything. Peace, Denicio
  23. Omar, Can you explain more about "Auto"? Does it read the temps out side and adjust accordingly? I have had my car since Thanksgiving and only remote start when its fooking cold out. I have NOT made any changes so I assume its defaulted at 'auto'. When I get in my Edge after a few moments I notice the seats are warmish and the air blowing seems warm....which is very nice. I too wondered about tweaking settings on remote start to make the seats default to a hotter setting. So I suppose i am asking, How exactly does Auto setting work?
  24. How? By simply accessing it. The ipod touch screen on a good infotainment needs to be nothing more than a remote screen for the MP3 player. The previous year model Mazda's infotainment had to index each time the car was turned on. I have a 120 gig ipod full of content. It would take 30+ minutes of indexing before playing. I cant see a good reason the Sync needs to index the device. All it needs to do is access it. Its the way the Honda's have done it without issue. Now, this is not a HUGE thing but it seems odd that if I add one song the Sync has to do 20 minutes worth of indexing. Thanks for the heads up on building voice commands. Again, never understood why this was being done when it was only a new song being added. Do I lose anything by turning off "Build voice commands"?
