  1. Any tips on the install would be HUGE! I have a set I bought from Daytime Brights and they are in the box. If the temps get above 40 this weekend I will install. His videos to install are for the 2014 edge which IS RADICALLY different than the 2015's. The drivers side seems easy to get to but the passenger side has this coolant thing in the way. Not only that I see no where to safely mount the ballast on the passenger side either. Denicio
  2. So I have noticed that each time I add a new song or TONS of songs, when I plug in the Ipod the Sync says "Indexing" at the bottom. This takes several minutes and THEN goes to "Building Commands". Its not a huge problem but its a bit of a PITA. When its doing these things it makes it near impossible to go to a playlist or new artist. Basically the ipod starts playing alphabetically when doing this so I have to use the steeringwheel advance button to get to a song in the "A's" I want to listen to. Whats up with this thing? 3. When were your Edge's manufactured? Just wondering if there was a run of edges that are buggy? OR if its hit and miss with them. Also, was this happening to each of you after a certain number of miles are on the car?
  4. Edgetb, Thanks for the update and info. PLEASE keep all us fellow Edge owners posted on the smallest of details! D
  5. I am thinking the 2017's will be at the dealership lots before you guys receive your pre ordered 2015's! Geesh! I am LOVE the phooey out of my new 2015! Not to rub it in but to say if you still want a 2015 cant your dealership find you one speced out the way you want? Once I gave up the notion of the factory installed Trailer hitch a sea of cars on lots became viable options for me. I was violating the 90/10 rule (don't buy based on 10% of your needs). My dealership found the perfect match for me 8 hours away and had it drove up to me at no charge. I know I was a PITA when I first joined these forums worrying about Ford quality and Edge issues. But damn, this 2015 Edge has far exceeded my expectations and I continue to find little things about it that I absolutely adore! D
  6. I recently purchased the HID light kit for Daytime Brightlites but am running into installation issues on the 2015 model. All of Dans videos are on a 2014 and prior. He admittedly had not been under the hood of a 2015. Well as many of you know its a different animal under there. Installing a new bulb on the drivers side is easy. On the passengers side the dust cover is blocked by a big reservoir tank with pinkish fluid (coolant?). Anyone that has done an upgrade on the 2015s with Daytime Brights kits care to share the secret on how you installed the bulb and ballast on the passenger side? I am NOT comfortable taking hoses off my Edge and having that fluid leak everywhere. Any suggestions will be helpful. Hope I dont have to return these lights. Help! Denicio
  7. Good to see that the Dealership AND Ford is taking an active role in this issue. Toyota would have denied and ignored it!!! HA! Does the MKX also have the same issue?
  8. Not sure its 100% related to this post but after the FLOODS of Xmas 2015 around here my 2015 Edge Titanium does not seem to have any leaks. With the biblical like floods we have had around here lately.....I am sure I would have seen something by now. Is this a problem that eventually happens or if my Edge the 'issue' I would know by now?
  9. A dealership that's reasonable will work with you no matter what. I ran my dealership through the ringer on two signed deals. They grinned and kept looking for the right Edge for me. DONT ask...tell then what you expect, but in a nice way. TELL them you want to buy...and from them! Make them find a car that's in current inventory somewhere in the USA. I am in Memphis and my Edge came from Mobile AL.....about 8 hours away. They drove it up here at no charge to me.
  10. Safelite just left. Did a great job. He fixed the big star and where it also skipped across my windshield. All for 50.00! There will always be a couple of spots there but far better than a huge crack from a run. Glad I did it. Dropped my deductible to Zero with state farm so if something more catastrophic happens i'll file a claim then.
  11. My 2014 Mazda 3 had the button. I liked it okay till this summer when we bought my wife a new Honda HR-V with the touch sensors like the edge. I was instantly jealous of it! It does not, however, have the top-touch-ribbed lock thingy. I must confess I have trust issues with touching the top to get the car to lock. My OCD requires me to also grab the keyfob and make that sucker bark that its locked!!!!
  12. Well the OM is what brought the confusion thus this post. I just did as you said and yes it does operate as you state. I also did not see a difference in unlocking and opening it when grabbing the handle and touching the ribbed part. I was under the impression the ribbed part did both locking and unlocking. When grabbing the locked door and thumbing the ribbed area I see no noticeable downside but Ford states not to do this. I was curious as to why. I suppose it could attempt to do both at the same time? Dunno. Its a new technology to me and trying to understand it better. That's what I get for RTFM :-)
  13. I must have been unclear. When I go to the car that IS locked, I have been touching the ribbed section for instant unlocking with no tugging. Its a touch as I open the door and it works fine. The ford manual says NOT to do this. I found it odd as it works quite well. The few times I did not use the key fob and did NOT touch the ribbed area I had to pull the door handle once to unlock and again to open. A double tug. My question is simply "Why is it bad (or ill advised) to UNLOCK the LOCKED car by touching the ribbed area as you open it?".
  14. Akirby, Been using the Keyfob until two days ago till I learned of the touch lock feature. Here is my question. Why does Ford advise AGAINST touching the ribbed area when UNLOCKING the door? I don't see a downside and its crazy fast too. Just seems odd that they warn against using it.
  15. I was bored last night and thumbed through the owners manual (I gotta get a life). When I came upon the info on the Intelligent Lock it gave some strange instructions. When UNLOCKING the car it was specific to say NOT to touch the ribbed area where the thumb naturally goes(it had a name for it that I forget now). It says to just grab the handle and pull. It stated this detail twice. Up until I read this I had been touching the ribbed section and it works lightening fast . Way faster than a tug on the door handle. Which seems to require a tug to unlock and then a tug to open the door. Anyone know why ford discourages unlocking the Edge this way? Seems odd to me. D
  16. My insurance has no Chip repair (state farm). Called Safelite based on some great reviews and they know about SF and have a "State Farm Discount". It amounted to 50.00 for mobile service. I booked it for today! I have also called my insurance company to lower my comprehensive deductible. I had a 500.00 Deductible. Dropping it to zero cost me essentially 4.00 extra per month. No brainer. Especially when the roof of these edge's are 85% glass! Fingers crossed that Safelite can put some serious Mojo on this and make a bad morning better!
  17. Local glass shop that's been affordable in the past for me and family just gave me a quote of 761.00 for a new windshield! Ouch! I was gonna take it by to let them see if the 69.00 drill & fill method would work. Then again, I may wait till spring once winter has had its way with our city roads.
  18. Enjoying my commute today in my 2015 edge and this GMC land yacht in front on the interstate throws a large rock (not some pebble) at my car. I see it and duck, but my windshield took the brunt. THRACK! My heart sank and cussing ensued. I have what appears to be a starburst about the size of a quarter and a chip next to it that scuffed the glass. Not sure it can be drilled & Filled. Now I have to decide if I should wait till winter wraps up till I replaced this thing. Roads in Memphis during the winter are a mess. My vanity does not want to wait. This will be a full out of pocket expense too as my insurance has a 500 deductible. My ford probe's windshield seemed to be a Rock Magnet. I sure hope this is not the case with my new edge. Not even a full week of ownership and my new ride gets violated. Sigh ~ Sorry, had to vent. D
  19. Just ordered from Dave at Drive Bright. Nice guy, super informative. Getting HID replacement kit and new puddle lights too.
  20. ERG gave me this part number for the 2015 Part number 573352 Even though their own website says it only fits the 2014's. Need to find an online vendor that carries these with a reasonable return policy.
  21. Many of the reviews on Amazon on the Premium Halogen lights say they burn out very fast. The GE is reported to have a life expectancy of only 125 hours but reviewers are saying they don't last that long. Sigh~ I am thinking about upgrading to the HID thing but need to find the least offensive color to on coming traffic with the maximum benefit to me. It seems the LED kits are prone to produce more heat.
  22. Doug, What 'function' does the Aeroskin do? Seen them for years and never understood their intended purpose.
  23. Weathertech does not have them for 2015's I have heard that the stick on style does not do well in car washes.
  24. So you have a link to a company that has the LED kits? I suppose if I am going to do this upgrade I should do it right the first time.
