  1. Boosted; How do you know they are included? I just took a look at a dealer ordered 2016 Sport window sticker. The adaptive cruise was indeed listed as an option on this car. It was a west coast car so I doubt they would order the cold weather package and the inflatable seat belts are also an option that was not on this car. A bit of concern at the top of the sticker where they list "standard equipment included at no extra charge" there is NO listing for the standard power tilt/telescoping or adaptive power steering. I know the list is not all inclusive but you would think these two items would be included in the list. No mention on Ford build site about late availability. All this stuff has me thinking about waiting till these hit the dealers. Too many questions. windowsticker.pdf
  2. So far two dealers have informed me that the Ford order system will not accept 3 items I am trying to order on a 2016 Sport. Adaptive Cruise (I think was available in 2015) Cold weather package Inflatable rear seat belts (show as included on Ford build & price but actually need to be ordered). They are listed on the build sheets from the dealers and have the MSRP attached but the dealers inform me they get “unavailable” when try ing to get the build into the system. Is this part of the system ordering problem Ford is having?
  3. Hey chicagoslick This must be a 2015 you are waiting 4?
  4. OK, yesterday we test drove the 4 cyl Titanium with 20 inch wheels and the Sport with 20 inch wheels. The Sport wins and tomorrow I will be heading to the dealer to hopefully place an order. The wife wants Ruby Red with 21 inch wheels. So I have a few questions about the wheels for you that have them. 1) Are the lug nuts bright or the same color as the wheels? 2) Are the calipers painted dark or do they remain the bright silver? Thanks
  5. #2 Not bad. The Jeep is a different animal in my opinion. Lots of off road stuff available and if it has that 9 speed tranny I would not touch it. I would say the Edge is #1. :-)
  6. Went and drove the Sport again yesterday with both 20 and 21 inch wheels. I found the ride a bit better with the 20's but I don't know how much air was in the tires so a bit suggestive. What I did find was that the acoustics in the car with the 20 inch was worse than the 21s, sort of a buffeting sound, like driving at high speeds with a window partially open. I am sure all this is suggestive and I attribute the difference that the 20 incher did not have a BAMR and the 21 did. But this is not my issue. I found the sport ride to be a bit stiffer than I cared for. I love everything else about it especially the engine but comfort is comfort and I am not getting any younger. I am going to test drive a Titanium at my next opportunity. I would prefer to have the 4 Cyl Ecoboost engine if I go this route. I live in the mountains of Arizona a a round trip to Phoenix (which we do very often) has about 9000 feet of climbing, some fairly steep so I was wondering for you folks that have this engine: How is it performing on hills and the ability to pass on the hwy going between 65-75? Thank you
  7. Thanks; You would think they would jump right on this. I mean how hard can it be to fix? Maybe they are doing so well they don't need new orders. Wouldn't it be wise to notify the dealers of the glitch. Makes too much sense I guess. No need to respond, just venting. Hard to spend my 45K.
  8. Had a chat session with Ford. Please see below. Does anyone know anything about this. Certain dealers can order certain cars only at certain times or maybe never. I am not believing this. Please wait. An operator will be with you shortly. Tara-Kay says: Hello. This is Tara-Kay. How can I help you with your build today? David Cederbaum says: Hi Tara-Kay David Cederbaum says: I have had 2 local dealers try to get me pricing on a 2016 Edge. They have been unsuccessful in getting the car configured on the Ford site. It was my understanding that the order bank for 2016s opened in October. Tara-Kay says: I am happy to assist. It will be just a moment while I look into that for you. Tara-Kay says: The estimated opening of the ordering banks for the 2016 Edge was early November of this year. The Edge is estimated to arrive on dealer lots early January of 2016. Are you saying the the BUild is not on the website or there was a problem with selecting option for the 2016 Edge on the website? David Cederbaum says: I have NO problem building the car on the ford site open to the public. I am reporting that my dealers cannot get a configuration into whatever system they use to order a car so we ca get pricing etc... Tara-Kay says: Ordering availability varies by dealership, I suggest contacting another Ford dealership. David Cederbaum says: They let me know that they were working with their order system (I am taking it for granted it is their interface to the factory.) Tara-Kay says: I suggest reaching out to a different dealership; all sales orders are processed through our Ford dealerships. David Cederbaum says: I am just trying to order a car from my local dealer. The next closest one is 100 miles away. Small town. I cannot imagine they can't get into the system to price a car for me. Ford is making it difficult for me to spend my to money on their products Tara-Kay says: I understand the need to order your vehicle, I suggest continuing to work with your current dealer to see if there is any change or ask if the can coordinate with a dealership that can order the vehicle. I cannot confirm that they will be able to do this, it's best to speak with them. Tara-Kay says: "...they..." David Cederbaum says: Are you saying some dealers are locked out of placing orders even though the bank is open? Tara-Kay says: Ordering availability varies by dealership; not every dealership has the ability to place orders for certain models from the factory. David Cederbaum says: They can NEVER order certain models? Tara-Kay says: It may me never or not being available to them at the same time as other dealerships; I suggest speaking with your dealer to confirm. David Cederbaum says: OK will do thanks Tara-Kay says: Thank you for chatting with me. To rate my service, please click the small, red "X" at the top right corner to launch a short survey. I look forward to hearing your feedback. Have a great day
  9. Blitz; Believe it or not I checked stock in the entire greater Phoenix area on line and found only 1 sport in stock with the 21's. It is 100 miles from home but I guess worth the trip if I plan on owning the car.
  10. How do you guys like the ride of the 21 inch tires on the sport? The tire profile is about an inch less that the 20's. With the stiffer suspension of the sport I am a bit concerned it will be a rough ride. I really felt the stiffness with the 20s when I drove them so a bit concerned about the 21's. Will most probably place an order this week so I want to nail this down. Thanks
  11. Thanks Omar, that is good to know. Everything I read says NOT to use dissimilar tires as you will damage the system. Good to know there is a spare provided instead of a can of goo and no damage to the system will occur.
  12. Hey Redlance; Thanks for the reply. I am surprised to hear that. Every piece of documentation I have come across states the inflater/goo in a can. I checked a sport AWD last week at the dealer and it did indeed have a 19 inch temp spare. Both I and the salesman were surprised and thought someone placed it there by mistake. I wonder how all that works with AWD as I thought all tires needed to be in VERY close tolerance so you don't damage the AWD system. I wonder if there is a mileage limit you can run the temp? Is your Sport an AWD? I assume the jack is in there as well. Appreciate it if you ket me know. Thanks
  13. Is there any concern for you guys ordering the 21 inch tires that there is no real spare, just a can of goo. I am considering as I really want dark wheels but live in a rural Arizona area with lots of two lane blacktop. I am 90 miles from Sedona, Prescott, Jerome and Phoenix. Real dark roads at night and long distances to get help. I was thinking of having my stock 20 inchers powder coated. They only want about a $100.00 a tire plus breakdown and remount. If I do this I will get my black wheels and have a spare. Just trying to think out of the box. I save $$ as well. I don't really care if they are 20 or 21 as long as they are black.
  14. Hey Guys; How are you getting all this info about quality holds? I read on some other post that I cannot locate again that there are a lot of 2015's being held back for quality issues. I wonder what is going on. They have been building these things for 9 month now. I am only asking because I want to place an order for a 2016 this week. Might hold up until production really starts.... Any info appreciated.
