  1. As you, I had the error message on my screen (cleared it by hitting "ok" ), then never saw it again. However, just because the error never popped back up, did not mean that my adaptive steering had returned, just that I cleared the warning msg. While the steering is fine under normal situations, such as on the highway, the adaptive functionality is clearly not working. I think there are two different systems being referenced here interchangeably.... one is the sport setting, which changes the "feel" weightl, the other being the adaptive assist function, which minimizes how much steering input is required to turn the wheels at slow speeds. I do not believe these two things are related, but I could be wrong.
  2. I also received the adaptive steering fault error on my '16 MKX with less than 4k miles. I cleared the error, and in the last week, it hasn't returned, although I do believe the steering reverted to a a non adaptive state. Slow speed turns would get a noticeable assist with less wheel input required when the system was working... now, there seems to be no slow speed turning assist. Dropped the X off at the dealer this morning.... time will tell....
  3. The local dealer stepped up and took care of the AC issue. Apparently the original dealer didn't tighten a hose properly, and all the refrigerant leaked out. I've put 1800 miles on it since.
  4. Yup, I also disabled my auto sensing wipers. I only need an occasional wipe with rainX, and the auto sensing function was way too sensitive to light rain.
  5. Well that sucks. I truly find it annoying that those two cargo area lamps always come on whenever ANY door is open, and sometimes, when simply stopping the car, irrespective of whether the dome light toggle in the overhead is off.
  6. Ok, so how does one remove the lenses to get to the bulbs, do you pinch them off from the ends or the sides, or do the panels need to come off?
  7. The two hatch area lights come on when one of the front doors open, how will disabling the hatch switch affect that situation?
  8. Even though I have a '16 MKX, I'm going to assume that this function is similar. I cannot figure out how to turn off the rear cargo area lamps when one of the 4 passenger doors is opened. Turning off the passenger area dome lights is done via a toggle button in the overhead console, but this does not disable the two lamps in the hatch area. Is this an issue with the '15+ Edge?
  9. Update: Picked the car up on Monday, three weeks after dropping it off. The phaser issue seems to be fixed, but now my AC doesn't blow cool air. Ugh. Car is going back in to a different dealer this morning. This car has been in the shop more than in my possession since I bought it.
  10. I'm quite a ways away from the dealer that has it, (and from where I purchased it), so it's not easy to go look, although I have been 2-3 times a week since. I know it was moved into the bay last Wednesday, as I was near the vehicle when they got in pulled it into a bay for the first time (they didn't know I was there, as I had the same plan as you, to just take it to another dealer). I believe that they are finally working on it. If they aren't done tomorrow, I will be making a trip to the dealer on Friday regardless.
  11. The car is supposedly in the service bay getting worked on, finally. It's only been over two weeks for them to actually get started on it.... I now have more miles and time behind the wheel of the loaner than I do on my new car.
  12. Oh, I will never take my car there again! In the meantime, I am stuck with them, as my car is supposedly in a state of disassembly that would preclude me from driving it out of there. I am keeping my upcoming appointment with the 2nd, local dealer, just in case.
  13. However, the case manager did call the dealer back, and they admitted that they were wrong. They expect the parts any time. At this point, they are telling me they will have it ready next week. I won't hold my breath, it's been one lie after another, as they keep pushing my service back. At this point, I have put more miles on their loaner than the total mileage on my "new" car!
  14. And, another new turn of events. I opened a ticket with Lincoln corp on Wednesday. The case manager called me back Friday asking if I was happy with my car. I said.. what? He said he called the dealer, and that the dealer told them I had picked it up. I told him they lied to you. My car is sitting outside their service bay, waiting for parts that aren't supposed to arrive until next week some time... Now what do I do? They straight up lied to Lincoln corp, telling them they fixed my car and I picked it up, which is absolutely not true. Oh, and the Lincoln corp guy did provide them my VIN, so there was no confusion.
  15. Thanks, I hope it doesn't have any damage either. I wasn't able to get a good look, as it still had water on it from all the rains, and the tech walked past me and jumped in which startled me a little.
  16. I made an appt with another dealer (albeit 10 days out), and drove up to the original dealer on Wednesday, shortly before noon, to pick up my car. I parked where I wouldn't be noticed by the service dept, and walked around the side of the building, around back, and to the other side where my car was parked. Snapped a photo showing the FOB was still in the same place, in the cup holder. Took a pic from the front to show it hadn't budged, and as I was looking at the hood for hail damage, the tech came out and opened the door to get in. Coincidence? Dunno, but I was only at my car a few seconds. I let him pull it into the service bay, and then walked over and spoke to the service writer I had been dealing with. I did not yell, or get angry. I was very calm, but matter of fact. The SW assured me that if I let them keep it, it would not leave the service bay until it was fixed, but that he couldn't blame me if I wanted to take it. I left it there for them to work on. I didn't even bother asking for an estimate as to how long it would take, as they will have to do whatever testing Lincoln prescribes to arrive at a diagnosis. I do know that once they commit to it being the camshaft timing phaser, that is about a 9 hour book job.
  17. It was purchased through Lincoln's finance. Yes, I did get a free rental. That took an extra week to arrange, so in the interim, I quit driving my car anywhere. So, it's really been 2 and a half weeks that I've been without the use of a car that I bought 4 weeks ago.
  18. Multi car complex, but Lincoln only dealer, no Fords. Service manager just says that they have to finish the ones that came in after mine before they have room for it. The issue is that there are multiple open bays, but they service more than one brand. I'm presuming that they only have one tech that does Lincolns, and they have him tied up with cars that came in after mine that have lengthier issues to fix.
  19. It's been 9 days since I dropped the car off at the dealer. It has endured multiple thunderstorms with some hail. They have done absolutely nothing on the car other than confirm the noise. They opened an incident with Lincoln last Tuesday the 23rd, and Lincoln Tech subsequently gave them a test to perform. That test has not been performed, and the car was never brought back inside to a service bay. Instead, they have had at least one, if not more vehicles come in after mine, that they have been working on. I am beyond pissed off. On top of that, when I went to check on it last Friday, it was left unlocked with the keyfob inside in their back lot. I plan to go retrieve the car today, without warning....
  20. I've been waiting a week for my service appointment. Supposed to drop the car off this evening. From everything I've read, and advice from a professional mechanic friend, it's identical to the VTC phaser failures on the 3.5 Ecoboost, addressed in TSB 16-0027. They wanted to have it overnight so that they could cold start it in the morning, but that won't be necessary. It does it after sitting for only 20-30 minutes! A hot start within 5-10 minutes won't produce the metal/metal rattle.
  21. one to two hours.... if I restart within an hour, it won't do it.....closer to two hours, and certainly over two hours, massive chain slap from the passenger side of the engine.
  22. That menu setup is also different than my July '16 MKX Reserve AWD build. No digital speedo option. I do have the 22 way seats (with massaging function) along with the LED headlights. Pretty much everything actually. Lucky enough to get 'A' plan pricing, along with $1500 rebates on top of that!
  23. Has anyone experienced a 2-3 second rattle when starting the 2.7liter EB engine after it's been sitting? This started happening at about the 500 mile mark on a 10 day old 2016 (July '16 build) MKX.... I'll see if I can post the link to the video.
