  1. Morning all, Battery died, boosted - now I have the red 'GPS' symbol and absolutely no audio controls (won't even take or eject a CD). Everything else works fine (Bluetooth pairing - but no audio). Did a master reset, no change. is the APIM module and the audio part the same unit? The power/volume button doesn't do anything (no volume control) but heated seats, HVAC/Climate is fine.. just seems to be GPS and Audio. I'm curious if a new APIM unit would fix everything, and if it's worth buying myself and trying to install (or if anyone has any other suggestions). 2016 vehicle, 70k (km) - Car is just out of warranty. ?
  2. Morning, I've had a look through some of the setups that people have performed on the previous model Edge with vista roof but has anyone got some pointers on after market options for a 2016 with the roof? Using Thule's configuration it comes up blank.. I'm happy to use towers and crossbars (for a roof box), I don't want to go down the route of adding the side rails. Curious to see other folks' setups cheers Alan
  3. ok. This is news to me - so, it may be that they are heating, i'm just assuming the lights should be on. My concern stems primarily from the heated seat status lights not being on and slightly based on the fact that they are chilly when I sit in them, however from my time with my Jetta and leather (with no remote start) I do understand that they can take a while to actually heat up - so yeah, it was mainly the absence of the status light. Your other comment about resetting the system answers my other question (Does 'master reset' on the SYNC screen reset the whole system or just the SYNC part, seems to be just the SYNC part). Verified the settings last night. One last thing, if the seat lights do not come on and I then get in the car and press the start button, would they not suddenly light up or does the Remote Start settings program 'end' once I actually start the vehicle (e.g. I notice when I press the start button, the fan speed decreases). This would also explain why the heated steering wheel icon is not activated when I go into that setting once I actually start the car when I'm inside. I think i'm going to start the car earlier tomorrow and check it out. thanks - this has been a great help
  4. No dice, this morning it was -19 and heated seats weren't on. Everything is sets to auto and the climate was on full. I'll check again for tomorrow, but it was already at auto for everything. (I also have a tickbox for 'system' which is ticked).
  5. Hi Bruce - I just picked up the same vehicle (used 2016 Titanium) and i'm used to the Fender system in my GTi and did think the Sony was a bit average, however I played around with the bass/middle/treble settings and it got a bit better, still nothing special for a brand-name system though.
  6. I'm still finding my way around our '16 Edge, but I notice that my remote start (in cold weather, -13c/3F) the cabin warms up but the seat isn't on. The manual has procedures for hot, cold and moderate temperature conditions but doesn't explicitly identify what temperatures it classes as cold. My assumption is -13c/8F would be cold. Under my cluster, I have 'system' and something else. My heated seats work fine as does the Remote Start, it's just annoying that when I get into the vehicle, the cabin is warm but the seat is freezing cold. Could we use Forscan to manipulate this? Coming from the VW world, VAGCOM would let me turn on and off available options or at least present them to the cluster so I could then select it from there on next restart.
  7. Anyone with a 2016 have this rattle? I have a 2016 and I get a rattle that seems to be coming from a similar position. When I drive over uneven road surfaces, a rattle/vibration can be heard in the rear-right side around what appears to be the rear right passenger seat area.. although, because i'm driving I am not exactly sure (further investigation required).
  8. thanks! It seems that TSB 16-0079 describes roughly what i'm experiencing, however the TSB notes that the build date should be on or before July '15.. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/21406-roof-opening-panel-rattlepoptaptick-noise-from-the-top-of-the-b-pillar-built-on-or-before-8102015/
  9. Morning all, I thought i'd put a welcome post up to introduce myself. I picked up a used 2016 Edge Titanium with 302A, 'Canadian Touring Package' (Pano roof, Nav), V6 and 20" wheels in black with 16,000km on the clock this week to replace our 2010 Jetta TDI. It's our first ford after 6 VWs so it's a bit of a change but after much research and browsing dealer and autotrader inventory we kept coming back to the Edge and it became the vehicle against which we compared everything else. Photo shortly after pickup So far I've updated the HU to v2.2 and been using Android Auto which is working pretty well, I've also thrown on some winters. From the previous owner the vehicle was in for one warranty 'repair' where he said the pano roof was sluggish. The dealer checked the rails, re-greased and this resolved the issue. The only thing that is slightly bugging me at the moment is a slight rattle coming from what is either the pano blind or something in the rear passenger-side around the roof area, but only when I go over uneven terrain. The space is great and we're off to the mountains for new year - looking forward to getting some solid seat time in her. cheers, Al
  10. So far so good (AA). I like the voice commands and it's handy that through google maps, all my previous saved area 'stars' appear. The one thing i'm finding is that while driving in Google Maps, it will randomly freeze the map and i'll be miles away from where it thinks I am. I'll then press 'phone' or 'music' and then 'maps' and it will update and work again. I think this is more phone/AA related than SYNC related as it did this a few times in a rental Yukon I had a few months back. anyone else experience reliability issues with AA? Other than that, system is pretty slick.
  11. Hello all, I purchased a used 2016 Edge Titanium this week after months of research. This is our first Ford after 5 VWs (Still have one of them). Ultimately it came down to cargo space and looks. We shopped around but it seems that as soon as you went up a model from the CRVs, RAV4s, Rouges you usually ended up with a 3rd row which we probably would seldom use. We did look at a friends' Sorrento and at the Santa Fe, but ultimately we kept coming back to the Edge and I found myself browsing inventory more and more which sorta told us this is where we were leaning. Only had it for a few days and we're away for a mini break to the mountains for New Years so we'll see how it goes. It has big boots to fill, but i'm excited to get some solid seat time with it. cheers, Alan
  12. Hi All, First post and first ever Ford (2016 Edge Titanium). I just ran the update and played around with Android Auto, pretty good so far. Thanks to all for the detailed posts and file.
