I had an alignment done and the shocks are brand new. It’s a brand new edge. They only other shocks they offer is Bilstein B6 which I bought and didn’t make a difference

we run B6 / H&R combo with addco rear swaybar for autocross and have zero issues giving c5 vettes a way to go.  Idk what to tell you what happened in your case.

Maybe they installed your springs upside down? I dont even know if thats a thing. I think its impossible to mix front/rear

you could do this in the rear but the front is impossible as the perches wouldnt line up

I put them on my 2021 ST Line and it’s been a nightmare. It looks sharp and sporty but i’m at the point now where i’m having them put back to stock springs next week because I can’t get the bouncing under control. On the highway it feels like i’m in a boat bouncing side to side and it’s a scary feeling. Has anyone had any success?

These characteristics are that of a very off alignment and or bad shocks.  would start with alignment first.

We use the H&R springs on track days and love them

  4. Yea you read that right, 570whp edge!  new platform record!  we ran out of fueling at 5500ish rpm (redline is 6450) and it pulled boost (25psi to 23psi).  Waiting on a new hpfp pump and injectors and we should easily see 600whp!

I believe what OP meant with ForScan is he tried to enable the feature using the module configuration in ForScan, there is an option for that but it does not work probably because the Edge's IPC firmware does not have that feature. My guess he'd have to flash the firmware of a 2019+ ST to get the cluster to function similarly (if even possible). ForScan does have a a lot of PIDs and, if i remember correctly, 2 for the boost pressure (commanded & actual) which can be displayed as gauges.

I really wanna know if i can enable this on a Sport....who is gonna be the Guinea pig

I have searched all the threads and have a few questions left. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have yet to see any definitive results from a FMIC install, I have seen many people promise to post either Dyno/dragy/slips, but never seem to. Let's say I'm running E30 in my Edge Sport, full weight 401A/Pano/stock 21" rims on unleashed tune. I currently run 13.4 - 13.5 what would a typical improvement be?

Also, as far as I have researched nobody but Ultimate Performance makes a FMIC for the Edge Sport. I have seen a few of these with horrifying welds and cracking issues. Have they resolved those issues? And what is the warranty on the FMIC?

Hey OP!  SO short answer..... an aftermarket fmic will help primarily with charge temps and will help with keeping lower charge temps and thus more timing maintaining power and lowering quarter mile times (unknown amount).

But stock FMIC temps on a 0-130 MPH pull would start at 75F and end at a steamy 218F with 6 degrees of timing pull.  Ambient was 69F (ha).

Same day installed an ultimate performance intercooler did a 0-130 pull.  Started at 81F ending at 147F,  And 0 timing pull.  Ambient was 78F.

    So yes it helps

    Long answer:

To keep production costs down, oftentimes the OEM intercooler is fairly small. It will typically get the job done, but as soon as you start increasing boost pressure or adding bolt-on modifications, the OEM intercooler can hold you back.

Adding a larger intercooler without any tuning will not really add any power. The charge air temperature will be lower resulting in denser air, but the larger intercooler can add a slight amount of drag which can somewhat negate any power gains.

The real magic of installing an aftermarket turbo intercooler is the ability to run a more aggressive tune without running into detonation. A larger intercooler is also less susceptible to heat soaking, which means you can stay out on the drag strip or race track longer without losing power.

    Do Intercoolers Add Horsepower?

To put it simply: no, a turbo intercooler will not really add any horsepower to your car. It does, however, give you much more wiggle room for a more aggressive tune without the risk of harming your engine.

It should be noted, however, that too large of an intercooler can actually do more harm than good. If you have an extremely massive intercooler, you will cause more turbocharger lag and more drag inside the whole system.

    FAQs:

Will a Bigger Intercooler Increase Power? – Without proper tuning, an intercooler by itself won’t increase power by any substantial amount, because your OEM ECU tune may not increase boost or ignite timing when it sees safer charge air temperatures.

What Does an Intercooler Do? – The job of your intercooler is simple – cool the hot compressed air coming from your turbocharger before it enters your engine.

Will it Decrease Boost Pressure? – Depending on your application, the size of the turbocharger, and the size of the intercooler, it’s possible to see decreased boost pressure after installing an aftermarket intercooler.

Do I Need a Tune? – Technically, no you don’t need an aftermarket tune with an aftermarket intercooler for the majority of applications, however, we highly recommend installing an ECU tune or piggyback system to capitalize on your lower charge air temperatures.

Luckily you will almost never run into this problem as spatial constraints will force you to run an intercooler that typically isn’t too much larger than the factory unit.

    Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and new to being a FORD Edge owner.  I joined your forum because I'm hoping to have a great experience meeting other Edge owners and learning much about this vehicle.  This is the first SUV I've ever had as most of my previous cars have been small to midsize sports cars or those with a heavy emphasis on performance.  Why not, a midsize performance SUV.    Here are my thought on the Ford EDGE ST thus far in my short time of owning broken down in my pros and cons.  Please note, these are my opinions based off other vehicles I've had or driven and may differ based off your own experiences.

    Pros:

    - The Performance brake and wheel package make a huge difference in looks

    - Twin Turbo AWD,  I've had this combo before and it's always so much fun

    - Panoramic Sun Roof is great and brings smiles

    - Fully loaded and all the tech you need and don't

    Cons:

-The Styling could use some work because it's not aggressive enough.  Ford should have offered a complete blackout option for the ford emblems (front & rear) as well as blacking out the "EDGE" on the tailgate.  I blacked out the "EDGE" emblem myself with Plasti dip and it looks 10X better.  Planning to use headlight/taillight vinyl tint to do the two FORD badges.

    - I would like to have seen 275 tires instead of 265.  I'm not sure what the widest tire that can fit but I will being going with a Wheel/tire upgrade in the near future and going for the widest tire.  Would be great to put 275 - 285's.

    - Where or the Bilstein shocks, and electronic adjustable suspension?   The Edge ST could have been so much more with a suspension that could have been adjusted for driving conditions

    - No Brembo brakes just a regular brake caliper painted red with performance brake pads.  SMH

-Better Sport mode needed.   I would have liked to see multiple driving modes instead of just the regular drive positions and an "S" button.  FORD can you please make the next EDGE ST with   a Normal Mode, Sport, and Sport + (or ST Mode)?  Sport mode feels somewhat clunky and only responsive at times.  Definitely feels like an afterthought from other trims and not a unique feature of the ST

    - More power is needed.  335 HP is ok but to make this vehicle really fun, I would suggest at least 365 HP and 415 ft lbs torque

    - FWD biased AWD is ok I guess but a RWD biased AWD or a full time AWD would have been wayyyyyyyy better.

-The exhaust note is absolutely horrendous.  I'm surprised the ST division at FORD released the Edge ST with such a blatant assault on the ears

    - Almost no aftermarket support.  I've seen three exhaust systems offered for the 19-20 Edge ST and was wondering why FORD did not create one.  The offer one for almost all their cars/trucks but not the Edge.

I know there are more cons than pros but I do enjoy the Edge ST, I just feel like FORD could have made this vehicle so much better.    I'm going to try to address the gaps by doing some suspensions upgrades, a Borla exhaust system, and appearance upgrades.

Please share what you have done with your Edge ST.

Please refer to the ultimate aftermarket parts list on here, plenty of aftermarket parts and support to solve all of the cons you have listed....only object is money ?

Hey everyone. Just traded my 2020 Challenger Scat Pack for a new Edge ST. I miss the power of the Challenger already but I got a dog and needed something more functional. The Edge ST seems to fit the bill as a sporty SUV in my price range.

This is my 2nd Ford, owned a 2012 Focus Titanium for about 9 months and then went through 4 Dodges (Charger>Challenger>Charger>Challenger) before coming back to the Edge.

So far I like it a lot. Mine is performance blue with the 21 inch wheels and group 401A.

    Glad to be here

That color and white are hands down my favorite colors on the ST edge.  Best of luck on the new ride my man!

Here is a product I found in another thread.  I do not have it so I can't say if it is good or bad.  But since this thread seems to be intended as a "master list", and I don't see this product here, I thought I would mention it:

    https://www.velossatechdesign.com/products/2018-2019-ford-edge-st-ram-air-big-mouth-w-flare-intake-snorkel

It is a "ram air intake snorkel".  The page only lists compatibility with 2018 Sport and 2019 ST.

What's the best drop-in air filter I can get for the edge? I've looked at K&N, Green filter, and A&E and I'm not sure which is best.

AFE seems to be preferred since its a dry element.  I have yet to try green filter tho.

Keep us updated.  I've been talking with LMS lately about the CRP/CPE upgraded turbos and E85.  They've agreed that once I get the parts installed, I'll drop the car off so they can custom tune mine, and then make canned tunes for this for others so alls you'll need is their tuner and away you go.  I'm very curious what your ET/Trap speed is/what numbers you get as this is on my upgrade plans too.  Upgraded intercooler, solid intake/IC pipes, heat wrap everything, CRP Turbos and E85.  F150 2.7 guys put down 550hp on upgraded turbos and E85(granted theres are a little bigger compressor wheel) so 500awhp shouldn't be too out of the question for us.  My only concern is the PTU and Transmission.

i would steer clear of LMS like the plague, been down your road, im going to say that you will dyno about 470~485awhp with supporting mods on E.  best of luck

  11. Hello and good day ford enthusiasts! I have been working specially with Stephen Dunn (owner and operator of AKD built performance incorporated). He has reached out to support one of our own in support of providing a superior ITCC rear coupling for your all wheel drive differential and a Torsen limited slip differential.    I (AKA Colin Bert on Facebook) have post pictures of these too gain support and providing these new products to the market place. They are currently working on a new billet coupler case that will in compass the new clutches and mechanical cam assembly for your electro-magnetic viscous coupler.

Viscous coupler has 65% increase in friction surface area, friction material will be a Molybdenum blend material with 600% over stock torque holding!!!!

Additionally ADK has designed a new Torsen rear limited slip differential that will work with Fusion, MKZ, MKX, Taurus SHO, Edge Sport, Explorer and MKX However we believe there to be Many more vehicles with the same compatibility within Ford and Lincoln. And believe it or not, some Chevys. We wanted to debut these parts here so you could see them however not currently for sale but will be tested with Special_K & SNMJim (Colin and his dad) on his edge sport. Follow him on IG @fastest_edge For product testing. Here are some pictures for your viewing.

while this may not be considered a performance mod or even an aftermarket part per se, the Motorcraft FL-2087 is a drop in replacement for the FL-2062 (with or without the A), which is made for the 2019-? GT500, which features a synthetic filter media and  a metal internal media support cage instead of plastic.

This should offer superior filtration and significant reduction of the possibility of filter collapse under pressure.

Also, the GT500 used to use the FL-2062 from what I've read so this is a filtration upgrade with no apparent down side

Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is John I live in New York and a generational FORD owner. Started with my 57 Galaxie, Maverick,Courier,Comet, 4 Econoline Vans,Taurus,Sable,Focus,Flex and now Edge owner. This new Edge is so technically advanced I'm almost LOST being challenged in that area. Being challenged I have a TON of questions because I find the manual rather lacking in clear and plane instructions and diagramming . I know there are many online tutorials and they are informative but still questions arise. So i'm looking forward to those in the know and can HELP me figure these things out.

If you're looking for folks that have ALL the Information and how to's, SnmJim and myself are your one stop shops ?

We have done everything there is todo with this car and platform and hold the record for the fastest edge ?

Just picked up a 2020 Edge ST to replace the 2018 Edge Titanium coming off lease.  I have the same 2.7 in a F-150 and love it.  It completely remakes the Edge.  Besides the much improved performance the NVH from the 2.0 is gone.  It's so much more BMW like.  Transmission shifts fine (11/2020 build).  I had the 301A package on both the 2018 and 2019 Edges and we discussed that we never used any of the features except for the heated rear seats.  So we skipped the 401A.  We did get the Co-Pilot 360 Assist+ however, I do like the adaptive cruise. The adaptive headlights would have been nice.  The sunroof and park assist are a waste of money, never touched either.  In fact, I see the giant sunroof as a negative, a potential creaky, leaky nuisance.  Spec'd the 20" wheels, not a fan of all black on anything but a black car, and I figure the lighter wheel and tire combo will ride better, accelerate and brake better and have no noticeable difference in grip.   I forget how much better the B&O stereo is, haven't driven the 2019 in a while.  Got 25 MPG on the drive home from the dealer.

Wife wishes there was still a CD player.  Otherwise it's the best iteration of the Edge.  Did not consider waiting for a 2021, she absolutely hates the giant screen on the 2021.  Got $8000 off the 2020, fresh off the truck and 0% for 60 months, doubt there will be that kind of incentives on the 2021 for quite while anyway.

Congrats on the car man, if you wanna make it faster let us know, plenty of folk in here that can help!

  15. New platform record, 12.14@117.10.  #worldrecord

Plenty of room left in the 60ft, and still figuring out how to get the most out of the 3.0.  11s next year!

3.0 and us are in development still.  The swap was in June, trans redone July and we got the car back in late October...... we have only been developing for 2 months with 4 track days.

Our track days started at 13s
    Next was 12.6s
    Then 12.3s
    Then 12.1s

Just need more development and testing.  Our new record was put down with a slower 60' due to spinning more and the rear viscous coupler not being able to keep up (3 later).  Also, came across the line in limp mode along with the throttle body only opening ~58%.  This 3.0 is kicking and screaming the whole way, but as we smooth things out she is power hungry!

Thanks to our all our sponsors, but special shout-out to Adam Staszak with ZFG Racing, Uwe with Xtreme-DI, and Pat with Level10 Transmissions for making a 6F55 that can finally hold the power!!!  It wouldn't be possible without ya!
