  1. I guess Ford is not the only one who build crappy vehicles GM recalling 59,000 2010 Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain CUVs over faulty defrosters http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/28/gm-reca...n-cuvs-over-fa/
  2. I use GoDaddy for over 30 blogs/websites. Their service is good and you won't find much cheaper rates. For statistics, I just use Google Analytics http://www.google.com/analytics/ which is free. Gary
  3. Thanks for update. The dealer did tell me that it would take 2 hours but he didn't say I would have leave overnight! Still waiting for the Dealer to call. This tool must be made of gold! - I could have made my own tool by now. You think that they could escalate getting the tool out to people who live in colder climates, rather than waiting for the tool for all dealers? Obviously someone in Florida is not likely going to freeze to death. Ford your service is worse than your quality! Gary
  4. This is what the dealer is telling me. I thought it kind of strange myself so I phone Ford Canada customer service and they supported the dealers explanation and were not able to do anything for me. So I am still waiting for the flush. I am going to phone Ford Customer Service again tomorrow to complain. Why don't they tell you the truth? Has anyone out there had the recommended flush done by their dealer yet? Gary
  5. The problem is that my dealer is waiting for a special tool. I have been waiting for the dealer to do a flush for 2 weeks. The dealer promised that they would get the tool from Ford by the end of the year. The problem is that the daytime temperatures have been around -25 to -30 and the vehicle is freezing inside. Ford has F_ckup again big time. Ford Quality is crap. Ford - Don't Sell Crap Can't they do something to escalate this? Like couriering this tool to the dealers? Providing me a loaner or something? www.twitter.com/smokinedge www.twitter.com/freezinedge Gary
  6. Yes, I think it might be, however I am not a mechanic. I am waiting for the dealer to give me a definitive answer. I have been waiting for colder weather and we have had cold weather. We occasionally continue to smell oil burning when the wind blows in a certain direction. On Dec 11 they inspected the PTU but the dealer said it was too crapped up to see if there was a leak, so they cleaned it and will inspect when I get the flush done. So I am waiting for the dealer to call for the heater core flush and they will inspect the PTU then. When they said they have fixed it I will tell you! To follow me check out www.smokinedge.com Gary
  7. It seems in Ford's drive to remain buoyant through the downturn in the economy - they moved a lot of product. Unfortunately their Quality has suffered by moving a lot of crap - that they must now fix in the market. Gary www.smokinedge.com Don't Sell Crap
  8. Got my letter today! Two weeks after I identified the problem to my dealer. So if the flush doesn't fix the problem then they still have to do the dash excavation. God I hope the flush works, I don't want to have to spend anymore time at the dealer. Still waiting for a flush - this must be some special tool! Cold tonight and I need to drive 50 miles with no heat. Has anyone had this flush done by your dealer yet? Merry Xmas Ford
  9. Thank You At least the cheap bastards at Ford could give me a free oil change or something for all my troubles! Merry XMAS Ford
  10. Is a fully functioning Ford Edge that I paid for! Last Xmas I had to contend with the drive shaft vibrating and the smoking PTU Problem This Xmas I have to contend with a none functioning heater and freezing interior. Does it ever get better with this POS Ford Edge? I discourage any people buying this vehicle. I extend an offer to any Ford Executive that wants to go for a ride in this vehicle to see the Quality product they are building. Gary
  11. No Letter - No Tool and No Call yet. - Waiting for a call from the Dealer to get my heater fixed - in the mean time freezing my ass. Good thing the weather has warmed up a bit (-15). Ford Canada promised that the tool would be to the dealers before the end of the year (did say which year) so they can do the flush. Can't they courier the fricken tool out to areas of the country where it is colder - duh! Still waiting for Service . . . .
  12. If it becomes a problem for my vehicle those are options too? When I am paying a $1,000/month for a vehicle I get pissed when it doesn't work right. And I will not appologize to you, Ford or anyone else. I expect better. It is your choice if you accept crappy service. Gary
  13. The PTU problem is weather related. It is particularly bad in freezing temperatures like we get here on the Canadian Prairies. I had the PTU on my Egde fixed last year and have been waiting for cold weather to see if it re-appears. This week it has been in the minus 30 range so I have smelt some smoke. Last Friday the dealer inspected the PTU and said it was too dirty to tell. So they have cleaned it and said when I come in to get the coolant flush they will inspect it again. Therefore I can't say that it has been fixed. I will let everyone know when I am satisfied with the fix. In the mean time I am now freezing my ass off and will be starting up my new blog www.freezinedge.com to talk about the problem I am having with a heater. My vehicle is one year old and already I have put up with more problems that I have had with most other vehicles that have bought used! 14. It isn`t a matter of luck it is simply shitty Ford Engineering!
  15. Amazing thing is - They knew about this problem a year ago. http://www.edge-central.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=27 Let's hope the flush works. I am going to buy a plug-in heater (12V) to use until they call back in for a fix. Gary
  16. Yes, I can only tell you about my experience. I guess I expected better from Ford. If they keep pumping out product like this it will come around and bite them. Gary
  17. Well they haven't handled the problem yet! I just drove from the farm into the city tonight - approximately 80K (50miles) and the snow didn't even melt off my boots. I guess I will have to drive my 1993 Mazda tomorrow because it has an excellent heater. This Ford Edge has been a piece of crap. The Edge Sel (EdgeSel) is the new Edsel. Gary
  18. I think the jury is still out whether this has been fixed or not! (Stike 1 Ford) The problem is weather related and it has been a year since the PTU was serviced on my vehicle. The weather has been warm since then. This winter has been cold and I have already smell the dreaded burning smell - really bad. (25Km or 16k miles). I took the vehicle in for an oil change on Friday and like I do every oil change I have the PTU inspected. This time the dealer said the PTU was crapped up so they cleaned it and will inspect it next time I come in and get the coolant flush. (Strike 2 Ford) So I won't say this problem has been dealt with at all. I will let you know when I am satisfied with the so called fix. Gary
  19. The dealer said when I brought the vehicle in that it was likely a heater core problem and they replace one in an Edge already @ 7 hours of labor. So shouldn't they be replacing the heater core? I guess I don't understand how a flush is going to correct the problem. Is this just a stop-gap measure or a cost reduction measure so they can save money? Gary
  20. Took my 2008 Edge in for an Oil Change, Check PTU and Check problem with no heat. Cleaned around PTU they will inspect next time I am in again. Jury is still out as to whether this is fixed or not. No Heat - Mechanic said there was 20 degrees difference between Drivers Side and Passenger Side. They have ordered a special coolant/flush and need to do a procedure which needs a special tool. They had to order this special tool before they can service - might take a month to get. In the mean time I am freezing my ass. (-35 below). Heater is on full blast and you can see your breath. Gary Update - Since I posted this 30 minutes ago - I got a call from my Dealer who said he got a call from Ford that this tool is being sent out to all dealers before the end of the year. - Is Ford actually monitoring these entries? Anyone have an idea what this special tool or procedure is? Smokin on the outside - Freezing on the inside! - What a lovely vehicle! I am sure glad I bought a POS Ford. Gary
  21. I hope that isn`t a picture of BlazedUp Kid - Cause we don`t need another ignorant person like him in the world.
  22. That's Funny since Silvania are advertising these bulbs and in the ad the vehicle they show them being used on: Ford Edge. If there was a problem you would think they would have chosen another vehicle to show them on!
  23. I ordered two antennas. Both through ebay.com. For Canadian customers I received an antenna from these guys within a week and it was shipped from Richmond, B.C. - which means no duty, no customs: http://stores.shop.ebay.ca/SHORTANTENNA__W0QQ_armrsZ1 The other antenna that per Lex, I am still waiting for. I actually ordered 2 days before the one above. Gary
