  1. Mine has the taking off in 4th gear problem. It did it the other day from a stop light, then it downshifted so hard we thought we had been rear ended. Took it to the shop this morning. I am kind of concerned, I told them to check it for a bulletin on the trans. because it had downshifted real hard in the past. They told me there were no bulletins on it. I then gave them the number listed here and they decided there WAS a bulletin and would check it out. If I had to give them the numbers after they had supposedly looked I am not holding much stock in them fixing it.

  3. I am sure Ford probably thinks that saves them from worrying about the sky falling if we all crash. I have never had Ford nav before but my GM ones were a lot nicer deal. The disclaimer would display for about 15 seconds at so many key cycles then would go away without having to acknowledge it.
  4. I had asked this question before and never got any interest. We must be the only 2 people on here that don't like it.
  5. Turns out my disc is 4P also. I know they are probably worried about liability. Show the warning for 15 seconds then have it go away. The accept/decline buttons get tiresome.
  6. It wasn't a poll just an example I am not opening that can of worms
  7. No I don't think they did. Maybe you need a truck.
  8. Well now you guys have me wondering. I will have to pay more attention to mine. I never knew so many people paid attention to the little things. As far as all of the traffic info etc goes, that is something that one station may broadcast where another one does not. On the non satellite stations there are some that broadcasts dj name, song and artis info and others do not. The radio has to have the capability to receive it and the station has to be able to broadcast it.I am no expert but that is how mine works. Kind of on the same subject: How do the people on here like Sirius? My opinion, I can't find anything on it that is worth paying for. JusT curious if I am missing something. On XM there were some stations that I liked but Sirius has trouble keeping my attention. For example: channel 7 totally 70's will play popular classic rock songs that I enjoy for a short time then it goes to some wild off the wall stuff that I have never heard and that is when I grew up so I surely didn't miss that much. XM had a couple of talk stations that I listened to. Several financial gurus were on them, Bruce Williams etc. Sirius talk seems to have only far right and far left debates and nothing else. One side is saying if your daughter is not pregnant and carrying a shotgun while on lookout for commies by the time she is 12 she is not going to be a good hill woman. The other side is saying if their 8 year old son wants a drink of wine with dinner and a joint afterwards to help him relax it is perfectly alright in his own home. AM I MISSING SOMETHING?
  9. I will have to look at mine. When the satellite is on, I still have the map screen up.
  10. there is an arrow to the right end of the title bar. Touch it and the rest of the title will scroll
  11. Has anybody figured out how to get around the accept or decline screen when it powers up? I hate that! Others that I have had show a warning then go away after a few seconds, this one stays until you acknowledge it. Does the new disc do the same?
  12. I got a brochure too. Later on is when I received the e-mail. Maybe yours will come.
  13. The offer was U.S. There isn't any place to sign up for it on the US site either. They just sent it to people that were on their list wanting info on them.
  14. It came in an e-mail. I had requested info by e-mail on the Edge right about the time that it came out. Then later on (the day before I took delivery) I received the e-mail telling me to print it and take it to the dealer. A test drive was good for a $50.00 gift card and if I bought to give the e-mail to the dealer for 500 bonus cash. It said the e-mail was sent since I had expressed an interest earlier.
  15. I did. I have always drove a GM product. The Acadia has a lot of that rocking side to side motion that mini vans have. I didn't care for the ride at all. It has a few more options available like the heads up display but all in all it was just a rework of the same thing they have been selling for years. I am a GM fan but the Acadia is not a new concept, just a smaller version of the suburban or yukon.
  16. I use a Griffin Itrip. It charges from the powerport and you can set it to any frequency that you want. Just find an open frequency on your radio and set it to that. Here is an example: http://cgi.ebay.com/Griffin-iTrip-AUTO-UNI...1QQcmdZViewItem
  17. When fuel prices are up I try to stay 5 under posted limit. It makes a world of difference! At 70 the Avalanche I just traded in would do about 16mpg. At 65 it would do 18.8 to me, 2.8 mpg for 5 mph is a big difference. If we are driving 4 hours to the lake, the guy running 70 will get there 15-20 minutes before I do. That gives him time to unload the ice chest and get out the chairs so all I have to do is set down and enjoy it all. I also saved 11.2 gallons of fuel and $27.44 in the process. The efficiency of most vehicles peak at 55-60 mph. Every 5 mph after that costs you big for getting there just a few minutes quicker. You also see a lot of things that you will miss when you are white knuckled, jumping lanes and driving 80. No I am not 70 yrs old and don't care anymore. I am 42 and think if people would slow it down by just a few mph their life would be a lot more enjoyable. Since I am on this rant. My Avalanche would go to our house at the lake on 2/3 of a tank using the 5 under rule. If I pushed the limit and maybe went over some of the time I have to fill up when I get there because I am running on fumes. When I drive 5 under I usually have enought fuel left to run around the 3-4 days that we spend there. That 25-30 bucks I saved can be used for important things like steaks to grill, cold drinks and fuel for the jet skis. I am just dying to take the Edge on a road trip over there!
  18. An 04 Avalanche. It was a nice ride only had 50k but was looking for fuel economy. I don't see any relief in sight for fuel prices. I read a few places where people whine about the EDGE mpg and I laugh. They have no idea. Most of it is because people don't realize the mpg is a compilation of figures since the last time it was reset. If you are taking a highway trip, reset it, then you will get your highway mpg. Anyway, last new Ford I owned was in 1981. It hurt me so bad it has taken me 26yrs to get up the nerve to try another. I think the EDGE is one of the most innovative designs Ford has come up with in a long time.
  19. SEL+, wheels, awd, nav, roof rack, cargo management, Blaze Copper paint. This morning I got an e-mail from Ford. They just started a promotion for a $50.00 gift card if you test drive one. You can combine that with $500.00 bonus cash if you buy one. I got both. It came just in the nick of time before I took delivery. SWEET!
  20. Mine came in today, so now I KNOW the answer to my question. The roof is pre threaded. You just remove the black trim strip that lies in the roof channel. Remove the three bases on each side that the trim snapped to. Then install one new base halfway back on each side. Then bolt down the new rails and they come with new trim for the channel and snap down to the 2 new bases that were installed above. Maybe this info will help somebody else wondering about adding them. It took me about 15 minutes to do it but I was in my shop using air tools. The average Joe should be able to do it in 30 minutes pretty easy.
  21. I am not sure why this one did not have them. I got the color, awd, nav, tow package, mats, sel+, cargo management, pretty much everything except entertainment, roof and park sense. But NO roof rails.
  22. Yes I was aware that you can get them oe on a new one. I was also aware of the crossbars that are an add on. The Edge that I am getting was found on the locator. It had all of the options that I wanted EXCEPT the roof rack. I made the deal for it. The dealer is furnishing the rails and I am going to install them. (I run a shop) What I was trying to find out is how the ones that come OE are attached. I did not know if they all have some threaded holes that can be opened up and used or if the roof has to be drilled from the underside. I wouldn't think that there are 2 different roofs but maybe they only drill the ones from below that are getting a rack. On another note, the dealer went to pick mine up at another dealer about 500 miles away. Should be here late today or tomorrow. My wife circles the dealership looking for orange.
  23. The roof bars that came on your vehicle originally. How are they held on? Will there be drilling involved to add them?
