  1. I read the the K&N sarcasm filter allows too many pointed jabs through, and could result in bruised feelings. I think it is best to stick with the stock filter.
  2. I have no idea what that is, but it did not come from the factory.
  3. You may want to check into the legality of driving with only your parking lights on in your state. I seem to recall that this is not legal in some states.
  4. Of course, you need at least 20" wheels to be pimpin.
  5. We had our AWD Limited last winter, and rarely even got the wheels to spin then. It really is a great system.
  6. My wife has a 2008 limited in blazing copper. She loves the color and the looks it brings She loves the BAMR, especially once I hooked up the lights in the switches. She loves the interior leg and head room. I myself could use a little more head room, but I'm 6'8". She loves the power lift gate. It didn't seem like that big a deal when we bought it, but use it all the time. She loves how the AWD system performed in the snow last winter. She loves the heated seats. If we had to do something differently, we may not have picked the black intierior. While it looks great with the copper exterior, the hair from our yellow lab really stands out against the black.
  7. I put the moldings on my wifes edge last night. It took about 5 minutes and they look great. I did use a string to make the line to mount them on. I have an easier time making a straight line with string than I do with tape.
  8. Those are the instructions I got with my molding. I didn't get around to putting them on last night, but I am going to try again tonight.
  9. The Sportwing moldings fo my wifes edge arrived yesterday. I should be able to put them on tonight after work.
  10. Well, they finally replaced the defective wheel on my wifes edge yesterday. It only took two months and four trips to the shop to get it done. I think I will wait until summer is over and then start pushing them to replace the other three for the brassing at the hub. This should not be this hard.
  11. Here is an update on my wheel issue. I noticed the other day that it had been nearly a month since my dealer had told me they where going to order a replacement wheel. I called them on Friday only to find that no wheel had been ordered. They order the wheel on Friday and I got the call this morning that it was here. I ran over there on my lunch hour today to have the wheel swapped out. After sitting in the lobby for twenty minutes, the service manager came over and informed my that they did not have a replacement band for the pressure sensor. They would order one for delivery tomorrow, and I would have to come back.
  12. I have an update on my chrome wheel trouble. The dealer has agreed to replace the wheel with the bubbled chrome. They are fighting me on the brassing near the wheel hub. I have plenty of warranty left, so I am not pressing the issue hard at this point.
  13. I noticed the other day that there was a large bubble in the chrome on one of the spokes on my wifes edge. I took it in to the dealer yesterday to start a warranty claim to have the wheel replaced. The dealers warranty guy told me that he had only ever had one claim for pealing chrome on a wheel (it was 5 or 6 years ago, so not on an edge). He told me Ford had denied that claim saying that the customer had not cared for the wheel properly. I told him he was going to have to do better than that. The car only has 4500 miles on it. He took some pictures and said he would send them in to Ford and see what they wanted to do. I also pointed out how some of the other wheels on the car where starting to brass near the hub. He seemed entirely not interested in that. He told me it would be a week before he got back to me. My guess is that I will have to enlist the help of the sales guy I bought the car from to get any action out of the warranty service manager. What a pain.
  14. The heat of the exhaust is not providing any energy to spin the turbo, the problem with cooling the exhaust is that it reduced the volume of the exhaust. Less volume equals fewer rotations of the fan which means less compression on the air side.
  15. I called the dealer today and they say the new PCU fixed the problem. They had the car for nine days. I will report later on how things turn out. I am picking the car up after work today.
  16. PM sent Mike. I guess it could be the copper color paint since mine is the same as yours.
  17. Well, the new crank position sensor did not fix the problem. The dealer is now ordering in a new PCU. That will take another three days to arrive. The wife is getting less and less happy.
  18. The initial diagnosis on my dead edge described above is a failed crank position sensor. The tech doing the work does not seem confident that this is the only problem. The new part should be in tomorrow morning, but I will be somewhat surprised if I get the car back tomorrow.
  19. Our 2008 edge limited left us stranded on the side of the road in a snowstorm last night. We where just driving along, the wrench light came on, the engine stopped and we coasted to a stop on the side of the road. We called Ford roadside assistance. They told us they would send a wrecker, but that it would take two hours to arrive. We called back in a short while to determine why it would take so long. It turns out that they where sending a truck from a town nearly 100 miles away. We where only 14 miles away from a much larger metropolitan area. We pointed that out to the service rep, and they canceled the first truck and dispatched a second one from the closer city (the same city we bought the car in). We dropped the car off at the dealership we bought it from on Friday night. We called them on Saturday morning, and where told that nothing would be done until Monday. Although they have service techs in on Saturday, they would not have time to look at a 3 month old vehicle with only 3000 miles on it that had stopped dead on the highway. Needless to say, we are not pleased with Ford roadside assistance, Ford Motor Co in general and our local dealership in particular.
  20. Thanks guys. I will have the wife take a look at these and let her decide. Sorry about not using the search first.
  21. I like the look of my wifes 08 edge, but I am a little woried about the doors collecting some dings. Has anyone added some anti door ding molding to theirs, and if so, can you post some pics. I want the protection, but the wife won't want it to look bad.
  22. We got an 08 edge AWD Limited. It is blazing copper. I think we got all the options except DVD and nav. The sticker was $37200, and we got it for 33400 and financed it for 0%. So far, we are very pleased.
  23. I bought the wife a new blazing copper AWD Limited on Saturday. So far, she loves it. She likes the vista roof and the Sync very much. Here second choice was an AWD Hemi Charger. In the end, she thought the edge would work better for the family. I am thinking I will have to look into a tuner and get a few extra horsepower for her. I have a superduty with the powerstroke diesel and a tuner. She loves the power of my truck. I realize a gas engine does not get the same kind of boost in performance that a tuned diesel does, but I have read a couple of encouraging reviews here on the forum.
