  1. I believe she is referring to the VIN tracking that some of boys do at Blueovalforums. I actually believe it is not a sanctioned service by Ford. But rather these employees, prior to their shifts, or during their breaks, follow up on VIN tracking for members who post their VINs. They are great bunch - they helped me thru my 6 week wait and I had my brother at the plant too!! Ford should just put some weblink in place that allows people to log in on their own and track their status. Better yet - take their emails on the invoice and set up an email service that will track their vehicle and update when there is a change. Great way to build a customer relationship!! Any one at Ford listening?
  2. That explains how it got there.. I still think the Forum should have some kind of minimal control on what gets placed. My apologies to the staffers - I guess its out of your control - I still think they shouldn't be here..
  3. Tsk Tsk.. For SHAME!!!! I suggest you have a chat with your webmaster - or whomever controls the advertising sales. Im hoping I don't see it again.
  4. Dealer badges are my BIGGEST PET PEEVE. I always ask what they use for a badge and instruct them prior to delivery NOT to attach anything to the vehicle. However, they do use a license plate trim to advertize - which I allow - then remove after a short while. I learned this one from Dad years ago - who always had it removed.
  5. Sweet.. looks just like mine. I get huge compliments on this colour - everyone I know has liked it. Awesome choice.. enjoy
  6. Ya know.. I didn't deserve that. Like you say, an open forum - so you ram your opinon down my throat and leave? In my book, you stand your ground, make your case and deal with any disagreements- you dont run away. I can hurl a bunch of american stereotypes at you - but that would just insult the decent forum members who try to help. oh well....
  7. Hi...usually it can be within a couple of days depending on which type of vehicle and options etc. I would call your dealer back on Friday - and then him when he thinks he will have it. Then.. take your VIN and post it under vehicle locator by Ford Employees at www.blueovalforums.com The boys there will look after ya... Just wondering if someone at "staff" could pin the VIN locator site - most of us know the action for VINs is at blue oval. Thanks Deb
  8. HI - I don't think any of us meant to be rude - but you came "screaming" on to the forum - and it seemed a bit over the top. I understand your concern and agree the differences you noted are big. But you implied fraudulent activity on Ford's part on a open forum - not a good thing to do. Sometimes the way you approach something is everything - you attract more flies with honey than vinegar. I agree with Kirby - a lot of quirky things that are mentioned here are factory related - and it could be as simple as your calibration was off. I had a engines lights come on with my Toyota at 200 miles when it was new - after 6000 miles and 2 more lights - the computer motherboard was faulty. S*** happens - Seriously, I would love to help, but I'm not a techie and I don't like rushes to judgement before the facts are clear and in your first post, the facts were not clear. Sincerely - I hope you get it resolved. With new cars, anything can happen, including miscalibrated parts.
  9. Perhaps before posting "MAJOR FLAW" - you should check with your dealer on the computer software and make sure its ok. IMO - major flaw = major mechanical issues - not computer related. Funny - you don't mention the difference tracked by the old truck vs your Edge - what was the difference? Read some other posts - a lot of people contend their MPGs are accurate within .5 You do need to reset your puter on occasion. I have no complaints with mine so far
  10. Post at www.blueovalforums.com under vehicle locator by employees.. thats your quickest place for info.
  11. Perhaps it does on the new limited edition. I heard it too - of course, that isnt an official ford commercial...
  12. All I can say - I love my Edge - I love the BAMR - I do live in a northern climate - so the hot days aren't such a big deal. No other cross over has a sun roof this big - perhaps the sun shade could be more insulating - but don't forget the sun and heat pound in from your windshield and windows. Don't blame FORD on this one - the VISTA roof is an option not standard. Lucky you that your dealer is understanding.
  13. For the quickest reply - post your VIN at blueovalforums.com - post under vehicle locator by employees - Chuck or Viper will post your VIN details
  14. Hello - I drove a toyota solara coupe - that I loved to drive - it was my dream car when I bought it in 2001 An AWD Edge drives BETTER than my toyota - like you I was used to cars and worried I would not like or could get comfy in a bigger vehicle. Well - driving the Edge is awesome, nothing better - don t miss my car one bit. GO FOR IT!!!
  15. It helps if I answer my own question!! Actually, I wasn't so sure I wanted an Edge. I have family at OAC, therefore eligible for an A plan price. But I was driving a sport coupe and I was not sure I would like the size or drive of the Edge. I had read the Edge reviews - and I thought I would put it off til 2008. However, some friends expressed some interest in my car and wanted to purchase if I was going to sell. Thus, I went for an Edge test drive. Well - that sealed the deal for me. It felt awesome to drive, better than my coupe. I loved the look, the power, speed and interior. Its been 3 months, and about 2400 miles - I love driving the Edge, the BAMR, satellite radio, touchscreen NAV - I think its an amazing first year vehicle - My only "bummer" is the lack of the power liftgate - not because the door is heavy or difficult - but only because it would have been nice to have. I initially thought I would like the CX-7, Murano or RAV4 - but the Edge has them beat - the Edge is a looker.
  16. Hi everyone.. We, Edge enthusiasts, know why we bought and like our vehicle... So I thought, in response to all the reviews and critics, we could state why we bought our Edge and what makes the Edge stand apart from its competitors. It appears that actual owners are far more enthusiastic about the Edge than the car critics - here is your chance to state why you love your Edge and what made you choose it over its rivals. We all know the Edge aint perfect - so tell us why you love the Edge. Thanks all.. looking forward to reading all the replies... PS - If you are a car critic reading this - take special note of the replies!!!
  17. Bummer I know.. I wanted those rims too... thats a US market thing... I even asked bro who is at Oakville we could get them... nope... my dealer confirmed that too. I know. it sucks
  18. Well Sue... Delaware is a heck of lot closer to Myrtle than I am - the place we stayed was very affordable...I can always email you the details - even if its just a weekend getaway... Take care
  19. I have the Ford all weather rubber mats - edge logo along the side - very cool. A little more expensive than other products but I like all original FORD products - got cargo bay liner too.. One of these days I will post pics
  20. Hey Sue... yep.. it was a long drive... but cheaper than flying. We were looking for a short vacation and a good beach. Got a name from friends who had been in Myrtle Beach and loved it. Never been before.. only to St. Pete's Beaches in Florida. We loved it.. great outdoor set up.. right on the beachfront... I love the ocean... So it all worked out... great time.. would return in a heartbeat
  21. Post your VIN at blueovalforums.com - under vehicle locator by employees. They will post back - the complete order sequence - and productions dates etc. That should give you the date info you need. Deb
  22. Thanks Guys!!! I did miss my Edge.. my bro did allow me the use of his garage for the week.. so it was well sheltered. Damn.. I did miss driving it... Felt good to be back home and in my car. As for work.. ahhhhhhh ya know.... its all there when you come back. Drove alittle thru the SC state roads to get to MB - lots of towns with great fruits and veggies ... we couldn't bring it back since it is not allowed at the border crossing.. Looked good !! Got to admit.. the cost of living is higher in the US than here.. amazed that at the grocery store, stuff is as expensive or more expensive than Ontario. Gas is a little cheaper.. and your beer is SUPER CHEAP.... we can pay up to $40Cdn for a case of 24. There.. $12 US... NUTS...
  23. Hello All. Must be wondering where in the heck I disappeared to.. but spent the first week of July in Myrtle Beach.. just wanted to give a .... Hello Y'ALL - and thank ya to y'all ma'ams for their politeness and hospitality. We had a great time. No.. we didn't take the Edge - drove in my bro's explorer - 17 hours over 2 days... Great Place to visit.... counted over a dozen Edge sitings thru our way down NY, PA., W. Va., Va., NC and SC. AND when we arrived at our hotel - a Copper Edge in the parking lot. I was quite impressed. Ya'sure know how to celebrate the 4th - fireworks on the beach were INSANE. So Im back.. spent this week getting my feet dry and back at work : ( I do miss my ocean waves.... Nice to see all the new members and positive Edge energy continue.
  24. Well.. what can you say? CR reviews states their OPINION. JD Power based their facts on actual owners. If you read this site, its pretty consistent - drivers love their Edges - Clearly - the overall sales of crossover vehicles reflects the Edge as a favorite. I will believe JD Power over CR any day - clearly this spring has shown that Ford has made leaps in its quality and image. CR will jump on the bandwagon a year from now - likely with 2008 Edge - my bet - it will rave about it. I got on the bandwagon early - took the "OH you bought FORD" with a big smile and said - you wait and see - the Edge will be great. Sure enough - facts speak louder than opinions.
