How To Play USB Tracks In Order 2024 Edge SEL
niceonept replied to Ronno6's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I don't know what MP3 player you are using but I have six Apple iPod Nanos and an iPod touch in my car and all play albums and playlists in the correct order. Sync also allows you to over-ride it and shuffle them, if that's what you want. Maybe the problem is the version of Sync you have? I have Sync 3 in my 2018 Edge which works ok with iPod Nanos and Touches but not with the iPod Classic, which worked fine with Sync 2 in my Ford Mondeo, so maybe Fords are abandoning support altogether? -
How To Play USB Tracks In Order 2024 Edge SEL

Buy yourself a cheap iPod Nano and load your mp3 files onto that, giving the tracks their album name and track number. It doesn't matter if the iPod screen is cracked or faulty, or the battery totally knackered as it will be powered through the USB and controlled by the Sync computer screen. -

2008 Edge AWD - loud noise - wheel bearing?
niceonept replied to ADC's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Have you checked your brake pads? The Edge uses a mechanical wear indicator comprising a metal prong that makes contact with the brake disc when the pads are at their wear limit. It makes a horrible screeching noise. -

It's stopped raining at last, meaning I've finally been able to get outside to wash the new Edge and take some pics. (edit: some newer pics showing wind deflectors and UK instrument panel now added) -

I never realised how complicated these things are! All credit to you for working out the fix. -

Fitted a set of "Rimblade" wheel rim protectors. Got fed up with scratching the alloys on my ST-Line! -

Panoramic Sunroof Cracked

Yes, thermal shock can cause the glass to fracture. However the most common reason (according to the glass replacement company who did my roof glass) for Edge sunroofs to crack is stress, caused by the vehicle flexing whilst in use. -

That's interesting. When the laminated glass sunroof cracked on my Edge it was replaced with toughened/tempered glass, but I didn't notice any increase in noise as a result. -

I had the panoramic roof glass on my 2018 ST-Line crack just like that at about 10,000 miles. Luckily it was covered by the windscreen policy included with my car insurance, so just had just a nominal sum to pay (£50). The company that did the replacement told me that Ford no longer supply this roof glass laminated (it just isn't strong enough for this use and they all crack like that eventually) ; they provide only toughened glass (aka tempered) which is about 10 times more resistant to breaking. Only problem is if it does break all the tiny little fragments come crashing down on your head and get everywhere inside the cabin, including inside the roof mechanism. The work was completed in less than an hour. I think the guy who fitted mine said the replacement glass cost about £1,000. -

Just set my Edge up for it's first road-trip overseas. Stuck my French "Air Quality Control Certificate" in the windscreen. Set the headlamps to "right hand traffic". And changed the display to kilometres! Allons en France!
