  1. I guess it depends on your model, but you can select any of these languages on my touchscreen: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Polish, Turkish or Russian.
  2. Interesting. I'd not heard that. I put front and rear on my car earlier this year and didn't really notice any difference in wind noise at all. But then again, my hearing's not too good after a lifetime of attending loud concerts and riding motorbikes!

  5. Car looks good all in black. Don't you have wind deflectors for the rear windows too?
  6. Gosh - where do you live? Somewhere it hardly ever rains and the roads don't get wet?
  7. Why would you want to delete your rear wiper? I need mine almost every day, especially at this time of year. And what exactly do you mean by delete in this case..... remove it completely and plug the hole in the rear glass...or just disable the switching?
  8. Don't the spares come from the Oakville factory in Ontario, Canada?
  9. Thanks that's handy to know Omar. It's just finding the button down there, pressing it the requisite number of times and putting the indicator on all the while there's some impatient person driving far too close up behind you makes it all rather difficult sometimes. That, and the fact parking spaces in UK car parks are now all too small for our 21st century cars!
  10. Interesting. I've had my Edge now for nearly a year, so have had opportunity to try out most of its gadgetry. Rain sensing wipers : Use, but often need to override if not responding quick enough. Auto high beam : This doesn't work well enough to avoid dazzling oncoming traffic, so is switched off. Adaptive cruise control : Very useful if you have an endorsed driving licence and are driving on motorways with average speed control cameras. Lane Assist : Always on. I find the little nudge quite useful. Active Park Assist : Not worth using. Takes far too long to set up and find a space large enough. Eyes work better. Adaptive headlights : Always on. It works better than it did on my old Mondeo. Heated/cooled seats : Love them. Will often use the heated seats for short journeys in lieu of cranking the heating up. Autopilot advanced driver-assistance system : I think the warning lights for when you are driving too close are really useful. The pre-collision alert seems a bit over sensitive though. It seems to go off when cars are still a long way away! Paddle shifters : What's the point? If I wanted a manual Edge I would have bought one! Sync : I don't see how you can't use this? Mind you, I don't think Sync 3 is as good as Sync 1 & 2, especially when it comes to playing any of my iPods. Sirius : I have no idea. What is it? Auto Headlights : I always have the headlamps on auto. They seem to work really well. AdvanceTrac : Always on. I'm not aware of any situation where it would need to be turned off. Front wide-view camera : Not fitted. Rear view camera : Useful, but still rely more on the rear-view mirrors. Hands free tailgate : I will only use this if I really don't have either hand available. Sometimes you can be waving your leg about all over the place before the sensor activates! 10-way power seats : The memory function is useful but sometimes too easy to accidently over-write the stored settings with the current setting. Traffic sign recognition : A useful feature, helps save your licence. 240v socket outlet in centre console : Of limited use. Only time I have used it was for my laptop mains plug when I wanted to use Forscan. Otherwise it always has a 5v USB converter plugged in for rear passengers' phones etc. Panoramic roof : Blind is usually always open to let lots of light in. On hot days I will often open up the glass roof rather than using the air-con. Parking sensors : Useful, but I wish they could be adjusted so that they only sound continuously at a much smaller distance. They aren't that helpful if they are already going off continuously with more than 6 inches to spare when driving the car through small gaps or passing cars on narrow lanes. Heated front windscreen : Doesn't stay on long enough. I'm constantly turning it back on again!
  11. Hi there. Welcome to the forum. Do you have any pics of your car you'd like to share with us?
  12. Cool. Do you have any photos of these you could share with us? I'd love to see what those 50s cars looked like.
  13. I agree. They allow you to crack the window open without the rain getting in! They look good imo too. One of the few Edge accessories you can actually get on this side of the pond!
  14. Cool. That's not that much really considering the overall cost of the car. And you get quite a unique vehicle - big powerful engine and in left hand drive too! Are there any mods you need to make to make it legal for Spanish roads....like fitting rear fog lamps?
  15. Have you shipped your Edge from North America to Spain? That's interesting. I guess it wasn't too expensive then? The model you have, the SEL and it's engine are not available on any of the European Edges over here- they are all diesels. It'll be interesting to see how you get on and whether you have any problems getting spares and having the car serviced.
  16. Good grief! I can't believe how cheap your fuel is at just $2.95/gal. We are paying the equivalent of $7.44/gallon over here (£1.43/litre). Diesel for my Edge is even more - currently $7.65/gallon (£1.47/litre). And it's still going up. Sob!
  17. Thanks. It's definitely white noise coming from the rear of the car, rather than an underseat fan - most noticeably from the rear speakers mounted on the rear pillars. I tried the "door slightly open" test you mentioned but the white noise doesn't stop when you do that - just an annoying chime that the door is ajar!
  18. Thanks Omar. It's definitely not a low frequency noise though. It's a very annoying white noise as demonstrated by handfiler. In fact it's that annoying it makes me not want to use the A/C or heated seats!
  19. There are fans in the seats? What about the white noise when pressing the air-con button?
  20. Really? That's strange though don't you think? I wonder why Ford thinks we need white noise when we put one of the heated seats on.
  21. Hi there. Welcome to the forum. Hopefully you find someone here who can help you get your Edge back on the road.
