  1. I recently had the same problem with my 2011. Mine was still covered under warranty. I don't know the cost, but I do know that the dealer had to take the inside door panel off to replace, and it took them 2-3 hours to do it. When I got the vehicle back, there was a big gap between the panel and the door, and I was not amused. I could stick my little finger in it. Drove a rental Nissan Rogue home that night while they tried again. It looks better now, but still isn't as snug as the other three doors.
  2. I had an 07 AWD with the Hankook tires, and traded it to a new 2011 FWD with the same tires. I haven't noticed any such issues either. I drove the FWD '11 in several snows last year, and didn't notice much more difficulty than I had in previous winters with the AWD. I've been very happy with the Hankooks.
  3. I bought a can of the Nevr Dull at Wal-mart. This stuff is great--cleaned it right up. Thanks for the help!
  4. I have noticed a small rusty spot on one of the "chrome" exhaust tips on my 2011 Edge SE. Any suggestions on something I can polish these with that might take it off?
  5. I have the same issue with my 2011. It has done it since day one. Starts clicking off with 3 - 4 gallons to go to completely fill the tank. Incredibly annoying. I just assumed they were all like this--if not, I am going to the dealer at once.
  6. 6 months and 12,000 miles here. ZERO problems. Love this vehicle!
  7. 2011 Bordeau Red FWD, 6 months, 11,000 miles, ZERO problems. Greatest vehicle I have ever owned. Would buy another Edge in a heartbeat. Been driving Fords for 20 years--Rangers, Explorers, Fusion, Taurus X--no major problems.
  8. Thanks for the info guys. If all else fails, read the manual.
  9. I have a 2011 Edge SE FWD with 5,000 miles. I drive about 40 miles to work, part of which is through an area with several steep hills. If I am going downhill at 55-60 mph, and have to hit the brakes because a slower vehicle is in front of me, the transmission is shifting down one or two gears, which is forcing the RPMs up from 1,500 to 3,500. The transmission will not shift back up until the vehicle is on level ground again. My dealer says that this is "normal" and as long as the shifts are not rough, I should just ignore it. Does anyone else have this going on, and do you think it is normal? I don't see any logical reason for it to do this, and I find it worrisome.
  10. My 10-year-old son is sports car crazy. Gave him a ride home from archery practice tonight and he said that I have the coolest car at his school.
  11. 2011 FWD, 3,400 miles on it, driving about 80 miles per day, 80% highway. Averaging about 23.5 - 24.0 mpg. Don't drive over 65 mph (met a state trooper last time I did!).
  12. I think the Edge, both old and new, looks much more "masculine" than the Veracruz, Highlander, Equinox, Murano, Venza, etc. What's not for a guy to love? Good looking wheels, big 4 inch chrome exhaust tips, lots of electronic goodies, decent power. I would prefer an F-150, but in light of fuel prices, this guy is very happy with this Edge.
  13. Bought myself a Christmas present and traded my 2007 Edge SE to a 2011 SE in Bordeaux Reserve Red with Light Stone interior. I have put almost 1,000 miles on her in 2 weeks and think that the 2011 is light-years ahead of the previous models regarding interior quality and quietness. Seems like almost everyone on this sight has bought a limited or Sport, but this is my daily driver and I log a lot of miles with my job--couldn't see sinking $40,000 or more into a vehicle only to destroy it with high miles. For a sticker of $29,000.00 less X-plan and rebates, my SE has Sirius, automatic headlights, backup sensors, auto-dimming mirror, keyless-entry keypad, outside temp. display, compass, one-touch up window, etc. I'm averaging about 24.5 mpg mostly highway driving. I find the "base" stereo system and HVAC controls very user-friendly. Lovin' the Edge here in Kentucky!
  14. I would like opinions on FWD and snow as well. I have an 07 with AWD and am considering a 2011. AWD is an expensive option, which would delay my purchase for several months. I am wondering how much difference I will notice in 2 - 5 inches of snow with FWD only.....
