  1. Brake pedal swing arm pin at top or the pin at the brake booster rod point could be making the noise. Yes we have also seen the brake light/cruise control switch sometimes will squeak. It needs to be checked out.......hopefully its not the brake booster itself thats making the noise. Richard
  2. It can be done. you will need to drain coolant and get two gaskets from Ford dealer. parts 5F263 and 5E241 are gaskets for the right hand ( rear ) catalytic muffler. you will have to remove the muffler to get to the block plug. The correct parts for the block heater, cover and harness are: Block Heater 6A051 Cover to protect harness from the hot exhaust 030104 Electrical harness 6B018 There is also a O ring but not sure the part number. I have done this to my 2007 Edge and yes you need a hoist and few hours to do this. If you have questions you can send me a message. Richard
  3. TSB 07-25-8 is for the clicking or creaking cv joints. They can check but if its a early production 2007 and some 2008 vehicles, then there are other known problems when making a 90 degree turn at slower speeds. The ABS brakes will apply rather abruptly . There is a cure for this but it takes a bunch of coordination with Ford Tech line to get it approved etc. Some vehicles will require that the ABS control module located on the Hydrulic control unit ( HCU) be replaced. Richard and Barbie
  4. Yes it will work. Not allways easy to find the band mounting kits though. Richard and Barbie
  5. Its a known problem with the HCU controller for the abs brakes. Mostly at 16 and 39 mph speeds abs will be applied rather abruptly. Kidapollo I sent you a message. Richard and Barbie
  6. Its the PTU ( Power Takeoff Unit) axle seal for the intermediate shaft that is failing. The only thing that cures it is replacing the PTU. Dealers have tryed to replace the seal and it will just happen again. Takes over six hours to do this job. Ford pays us 2.4 hours to fix this. PTU units are on backorder. Have your dealer inspect the seal and order the parts. Richard and Barbie
  7. The AWD vehicles have a known problem with the Power Takeoff Unit seals. This is usually the seal where the passenger side axle goes into the PTU. If you look up from under the vehicle it has that nice yellow colred seal deflector. Synthetic fluid will drip down onto the exhaust. The smell is very uh different. Parts are on National backorder right now. Richard and Barbie

    DTCs and TIDs

Evap refers to the evaporation system: fuel filler and cap fuel tank pressure canister purge 0x2b indicates vapor pressure 0x56 shows a misfire DTC codes would be more helpfull. The system had a leak which could be as simple as not having the fuel cap on properly. Richard and Barbie
  9. Kyle this is very simple to do : The Dealer can use the IDS programmer and program the smart junction box . They need to enable Daytime running lights in the exterior lighting section. Takes less than 15 minutes to hook up the programmer and change it to enable Daytime running lamps. If they don't understand how to do this they can call the Ford Tech line. Richard and Barbie
  10. Reverse Sensing System (Park assist) (if equipped) This feature sounds a warning tone to warn the driver of obstacles near the rear bumper, and functions only when R (Reverse) gear is selected. 1. Select this function from the SETUP menu to disable the reverse sensing system feature. 2. Press the RESET control to turn the rear park assist OFF. When R (Reverse) gear is selected, PARK ASSIST OFF will be displayed. It is in the manual under message center. Richard and Barbie
  11. The Daytime Running lights are controlled by the smart juntion box, ( SJB) The module is located under the dash. It is programmable with a IDS scanner via the OBDll connector. You can go to exterior lighting then Daytime Running Lights ( DRL) and turn on or off this feature. Yes I know that DRL are required in Canada and I am not sure if Ford Tech Help Line will allow the dealer to reprograme this module. Section 417-01 and 418 of the workshop manual describe how the module works and also the procedure for programming a new module. I usually get requests to turn on the Daytime Running Lights from dealers......oh well thats a totally different situation. Hope this helps. Richard and Barbie
  12. Ok are you sure you want to do this? Remove the 2 bolts from the top of the radiator grille. Remove the 4 scrivets from the top of the radiator grille. Remove the 3 lower pin-type retainers. Remove the 6 fender splash shield screws (3 each side). Remove the 4 lower screws (2 each side). Disconnect the side marker lamp electrical connectors, if equipped. Disconnect the fog lamp electrical connectors, if equipped. Remove the front bumper cover. Pull the corner of the bumper cover from the bracket. To install, reverse the removal procedure. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Richard and Barbie
  13. Remove the front bumper cover. Remove the 4 bolts and the headlamp assembly. Disconnect the electrical connectors. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Richard and Barbie
  14. Yes its a known problem TSB 07-19-6 POPPING/SNAPPING NOISE - FRONT OR REAR 18 INCH WHEELS - TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS BELOW 10 MPH (16KM/H) Publication Date: September 10, 2007 This is for vehicles built before 8-24-2007 They have a procedure to follow and if necessary will replace wheels with updated parts Richard and Barbie
  15. The Ford part number is 10E893. You do realize where its located right? Its not on the roof or the spoiler! Its under the dash. Yup that nav unit has to come out again so you can istall the GPS ant. Richard and Barbie
  16. Thankyou for the info. Will see how it works out in a few days. One kit is on the way. Richard and Barbie
  17. TSB 07-16-11 roof opening panel squeak/rattle There is a new velcro and glue metod for the black trim ring. Everyone of the vista roof equipped vehicles should have this checked. Sure wish that the Dealers would learn to read the service bulletins. Richard and Barbie
  18. There isn't any Daytime Module that you can disconnect! You will have to have the smart junction box reprogrammed to turn off the Daytime running lights by your dealer. Richard and Barbie
  19. The Daytime running lights are controlled by the smart junction box which is programmed to run the headlamps at a reduced voltage during the Daytime Running Lamps mode. This will not work with HID at all. Normal headlamp mode will be fine . If the area where you drive requires Daytime running lamps then you will have a problem. Daytime running lamps can be turned off in the Smart Junction Box programming. Richard and Barbie
  20. Edge replacement key, four button , Part number is 164-R7003 Yup its not cheap either. Richard and Barbie
  21. I am sorry to hear that you lost a key. The replacement key will have four buttons; lock, unlock, panic and yeah liftgate. The fusion key will not work. Have the parts manger order the correct key and then yes be nice to the Service manger. The computer will have to be programmed for the new key. Richard and Barbie
  22. I dont have access right now to the Ford parts system. If you need the part number maybe can get that during the week. Richard and Barbie
  23. Ford is working on twin power.......but its direct injection heads with a turbocharger. The 3.5 engine was originally designed for this. There will also be a 3.7 engine with twin power . The 3.7 will replace the 4.0 v6 in a lot of vehicles and could show up in the Mustang and other vehicles. Direct fuel injection works best with low sulphur fuels.....which a lot of areas do not have yet. Not sure when we could see these engines show up in production vehicles. Richard and Barbie
  24. Green with a brown stripe F44 at Battery Junction Box . Relay controlled and fused at 10 amps. Reverse lamps and also goes to the autodimming interior mirror. Richard and Barbie
