  1. Welcome back to the Ford family! We've been Ford owners for a number of years, but just this year became owners of two Fords. We bought our Edge in May and love it....and I just bought a new F-150 SCREW last month, which I also love. I think you'll be very happy with the Kenwood navigation, as that's the same system I hope to put in my F-150 soon (our Edge has factory nav). The only things I've added to our Edge are the Weathertech FloorLiners front and back, the Ford cargo mat for the rear, and the Ford mud guards for the front. I'm not into lift kits, performance tuners, etc....but am always interested in what others are able to do with their Edge.
  2. Should we check ours once in a while to see if they're gaining weight?
  3. We picked up our Edge at the end of May. Mechanically, it's been trouble free. The only thing we're going to get serviced is the rear driver's side window gasket has a section in it that's bent behind the window instead of in front of it. We've not noticed any mechanical problems thus far....we have around 3,500 miles on our Edge.
  4. I put the Ford cargo mat in the rear of our Edge...since ours has a black interior, it works fine (and looks darned near like the Weathertech mats). I did put in the Weathertech Floor Liners in our Edge (and my new F-150, too). Best floor mats I've ever had (though a little pricey!).
  5. Ours was selected by the state of Oklahoma....might take me 3 years to figure out what it might mean....
  6. All of ours were installed when we picked the car up...the rubber inserts in the cupholders, and the little pads in the bottom of the door pulls.
  7. If it only happens when the A/C's on, sounds like an A/C problem for sure. I had something similar to this happen to me many years ago with a Dodge Intrepid company car. Can't remember what the dealer had to do, but I think the compressor was replaced.
  8. I find it useful.....essential, no...but useful, yes. If it's 99 degrees outside, for example, I may elect to close the BAMR/shade when parking the car. If I'm driving up north, it's nice to know if it's below freezing, especially when going over bridges.
  9. While I might agree that Ford should make the cargo management "system" (using the work "system" liberally), the sad fact is they didn't. I seriously doubt Ford's gonna do anything for you. Your dealer may, though, if they failed to explain what this option was prior to your order. Your dealer may offer an oil change or something.... If you financed the dealer-installed cargo management system, at $250....this means what...another $5/month?
  10. I ordered the Floorliners for our Edge (and my F-150) about a week ago...should be arriving any day now, I hope. I bought the Ford cargo liner for the back...looks great and works well.
  11. Unless the Sync system is included with the Limited model, you might consider adding it to your list.
  12. Your iPod's working correctly, same as mine....I think 07MKX was referring to the way the Sync system might work with iPods in the 2008 model.
  13. Thanks for an enjoyable trip down memory lane, MKX! Brought back a few memories for me, that's for sure!
  14. (This really doesn't answer your question....) On our 2005 Murano, I installed Weathertech in-channel vent shades, and noticed the wind noise definitely increased as a result. I won't be installing them on our new Edge for this reason.
  15. I agree with SueS....running boards on the Edge would serve no functional purpose, as the vehicle's not high enough to require them. As far as appearance goes, I have no idea if they'd look good on it or not.
  16. We have the charcoal interior as well, and I've not noticed any glare problem from the dash.
  17. Amazing...the longest post I've seen here...and it was quoted in its entirety!
  18. That's kind of the sense I'm getting about the D3. Must be a lot of folks purchase it for other than navigation functions. Myself, if I spend that kind of money, navigation guidance accuracy is just as important as everything else. (I'd rather not get a map out just to double check the navigation unit!). The Panasonic Strada also looks promising, but I can't find any decent reviews of it, so I'm not seriously considering it (yet). BTW...all these units being discussed are double DIN mounts, and will fit just fine in an Edge or an F-150.
  19. I've read Sweetie's posts...you're right....
  20. For those of you who have installed a Pioneer AVIC D3 in your Edge.... Have you had a chance to test the accuracy of the route guidance on this unit? I was seriously considering this nav unit for my F-150, but am now looking closer at the Kenwood 7100 because of some Pioneer route guidance craziness I read about online at www.avic411.com.
