  1. I just happened to be looking at Ford's accessory web page for the Edge, and saw the following: Cargo Security Shade, Med. Stone Part Number: 7T4Z-7845440-AB MSRP: $125.00 Fits: Ford Edge 2008 2007 There's no picture available for it, but could this be the cargo cover everyone's been asking for?
  2. We probably would have purchased the white sand color if it was available in the 2007 model, but we're happy with the black we ended up getting. I see in the FordFleet page there are other new colors coming...some good choices, it looks like. I also see that some of the things I've heard others ask for are coming in 2008: 1. Sync 2. Power liftgate 3. Voice activated navigation Congratulations to Ford for some good changes in 2008!
  3. Lest anyone think otherwise...don't think I don't love our new Edge....we sure do!!!!
  4. Well, we've had our new Edge for almost 3 weeks now, and truly love the vehicle. I do have some suggestions for Ford, though, should they be interested in comments from their consumers: 1. Make the cupholders in the console BOTH full-sized....with adaptors for smaller cups. (Shouldn't have to figure this one out, as it's offered on the F-150, I think). 2. Put the bottle holder on the door closer to the rear of the door to make it easier to reach (as only one person can put the drink in the console, as per suggestion #1 above). 3. Again...on the door storage...take a cue from Nissan and put a hinge on them so we can pull them out a couple of inches for easier access and cleaning. 4. Make the angle of the headrests adjustable so some of us don't have to flip the headrests around (and ruin Ford's 5-star crash test score!). 5. Reprogram the navigation system disply so that the satellite radio station song title, artist, etc. (selectable by the user) SCROLLS across the top of the screen while in map mode. 6. Give the 2007 model owners with navigation systems a good bluetooth option. 7. Take a hard look at the leather seating. While the stitching in the seats is nice to look at, they sure do collect dirt. 8. Move the Message Center to the center of the dash, where the front passenger can read and operate it. 9. Offer an upgraded dash lighting package....maybe one where the color can be changed by the user? 10. Increase the size of the rear carpet mats. What's offered now doesn't come close to covering the rear flooring. 11. Offer a rear cargo cover (not for me, as I never used one before anyway, but others are asking for this). Again...I don't know if Ford reads these forums or not....sure would be nice of them to consider the above improvements.
  5. Please keep us posted on what you're able to find out from the business manager, as I'm sure there are quite a few of us interested in this system.
  6. Saleens, Thanx for the pictures!
  7. Saleens...I meant to ask you this a couple of weeks ago, but forgot... Are those headrests more comfortable than the non-DVD ones that come with our Edges? (You know...the ones some of us had to flip around?)...
  8. I agree....it would be great if someone posted a "hack" we could make to our nav systems to enable voice command. I suspect it may take a while before one's developed, though. I'd also love it if our Edge's can be upgraded to the Sync system when they're available later this year. I would hope Ford doesn't "punish" those of us who bought the 2007 models.
  9. I think the ones you saw at the dealer were the Ford cargo mats. I picked up one of those for our Edge, and feel it's fine for what I need (and cheaper than the Husky mats, I think). I may look at the Weathertech molded mats for the front/rear seats later this year.
  10. According to the small print on the bottom of the brandmotion page, it's not compatible with an Edge that has navigation, though. A shame......maybe they'll come up with one soon?
  11. Using the instructions posted by Saleen, I flipped my headrests around because they bugged the heck out of me, too. I've now got a comfortable ride, albeit at the expense of far less protection in a rear end crash. Sure wish they made the angle of them adjustable.
  12. I"ve washed mine a couple of times now, and haven't noticed any bad paint on it. Maybe I'm not looking closely enough?
  13. Yep....it's perfectly normal. All cars do this. Now...if the liquid dripping from the car has a greenish hue to it....or dark and kinda thick....then, you've got something to worry about.
  14. Hmmm....I'll have to try just using a microfiber cloth... Thanks, Edgy!!!
  15. Just curious to find out how others are cleaning their navigation system displays? Ours has fingerprints all over it, which don't look all that great when the car's parked. I'm guessing we're supposed to use plain water and a soft towel...but maybe there are better ideas out ther?
  16. I checked out FordEdge.org, and the site looks like it had, at one time, great promise. Somehow, though, the message forums became a repository for all kinds of spam. Doesn't look to me like there's any kind of spam filtering going on with that site. The only sites I visit are this one and blueovalnews.com. If there are other good ones, I'd like to hear about them.
  17. This looks like a good cargo liner for the Edge. I went the cheaper route and ordered one from Ford, which I just received today. It's got "Edge" molded into it. It's only available in black, I believe, so it may not work for interior colors other than the black we have in our SEL+.
  18. I noticed this last weekend that our new Edge's air conditioning isn't as strong as the Murano we traded in. Not sure if this is a problem or normal for this car. (It was 86 degrees in Tulsa this weekend...and it gets a lot warmer in the summer months).
  19. She's a beauty, Bryce! Your finalists for a small SUV were the same as ours....the Mazdas were close runner ups for us as well. Pics of ours are in the Members Gallery. Enjoy your new Edge! Mke
  20. I seem to recall that the sensors use RFID technology and, as such, it makes sense that the OE wheels next to your car are being read by the Edge's computer.
  21. Just an update to my initial post in this topic.... I was incorrect....you CAN change from the map display to the radio display while driving. I do hope Ford provides some sort of programming of the nav unit to change the upper status to display the artist/song title, and have it scroll. This is how the FM radio works for RDS stations...one would assume it's possible to do this with the Sirius mode as well. I did post some pictures of our new Edge in the Member's Gallery. There's a shot in there of the headrests I flipped around. To comment on your post regarding the handling of the Murano vs. the Edge....I think it's because I prefer a "smooth" ride over a "sporty" ride. Personally, I'd rather not feel every bump in the road as I drive. And I should repeat...the Edge is so much quieter than the Murano!!!
