  1. I have the Edge Limited (Premium Sound / 9 speakers in 7 locations) which has tweeters in the A-pillar. I planned on placing the MS6A 6.5" mid-bass drivers in the front doors and its associated UP1C tweeter in the A-pillar. My main concern was the sensitivity (92dB front & 93dB rear) and frequency range differences (45-20KHz front & 55-20KHz rear) between the proposed front MS6A's and rear 457's respectively. Supposing my installation is physically possible, in your opinion would these pair up well soundwise?
  2. Hey Kanatronic you still around? I have a question regarding mixing two DLS speaker model series. Do the following two speaker series look like they will match well as replacements in our Edge? __________ FRONT Door: DLS Reference series MS6A, 6.5" 2-way components - http://dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_70 Sensitivity 92 dB (1W/1m) Frequency range 45 - 20.000 Hz Detailed specs: MS6A mid-bass driver http://dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_428 Detailed specs: UP1C tweeter http://dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_144 __________ REAR Door: DLS Performance series 457, 2-way coaxial 5x7" - Specs http://dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_97 Sensitivity 93 dB (1W/1m) Frequency range 55 - 20.000 Hz __________ DLS Reference series MS6A DLS Performance series 457
  3. Yeap, that's what mine looks like. Guess I was mistaken. I usually need something more substantial like a roll of paper towels tucked behind a front seat. You guys are great! Thanks for responding and posting photos. Really appreciate it.
  4. Oh, I have those organizers. Thanks for the pics. What I thought I should have is a Kleenex box holder on the underside of the console lid. What I have is a small compartment for an MP3 player or cell phone and what looks like large clips on either side, I guess for holding cords. Look at the underside of the console lid. Take one more picture :-)
  5. During a test drive I seem to recall seeing a plastic bracket to accept a small Kleenex tissue box mounted under the center console lid. I just noticed today there was no bracket in my new 2010 Edge. But, there is what looks like plastic clips to accept a bracket. One flat clip in the center has a figure of a paper clip embossed on it. Can anyone tell me if this Kleenex bracket does indeed exist and is there a Ford part number label on it? Thank you.
  6. Found this thread over at the "2009 Edge & MKX Forum" How do you remove A Pillar trim? http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/3847-how-do-you-remove-a-pillar-trim/ Seems easy enough.
  7. What is equally important besides the Lumens light output intensity is the color temperature of the light produced. What is the color temperature of these "new" 2100-lumen H9 bulbs? example: http://www.buyheadlightbulbs.com/v/vspfiles/photos/MT-494-3.jpg There is a reason why fog lights are yellow. Much better in inclement weather. Bright high color temperature blue light foozles your night vision. Add fog at night and blue light is the worse! Not trying to start a war just stating some facts.
  8. Dang cold here to! Great! The door speaker openings are designed for 6x8s. Good info KLC317 - Thanks! I have been looking at DLS speakers. Not sure exactly which model(s) yet. Now, how to take off the A-pillar panel housing the tweeter? There is certainly a difference when you place those square Dynamats directly behind the speakers. Makes the mid-bass tighter without reflections and vibrations from the metal door panel. So easy to do and well worth the effort.
  9. The rear doors are also single mid-bass drivers or tweeter/midbass panel combo's? 6.5" drivers will fit in all four doors? My plan at this moment: Replace A-pillar tweeters (size?). Replace front doors with 6.5" midbass drivers. Replace rear doors with 6.5" 2-way coax drivers. Thoughts and critics welcome. Thank you!
  10. Has anyone tried black or tan Weathertech DigitalFit Floorliners inside their Medium Light Stone interiors? Can you post photos?
  11. I have read that the 2010 Edge Limited's Premium sound system has 9 speakers. Quoting From the 2010 brochure, "including A-pillar-mounted tweeters and an 8" subwoofer". If the tweeters are located in the A-pillar, what type of speakers are in the doors? From the door panel grill pattern they look like some type of 5x7's. I would like to replace the door speakers. I have my eyes on 6.5" DLS 426, 2-way coaxial speakers (depth 2.44") or 5x7" DLS 457, 2-way coaxial speakers (depth 2.28"). Will the doors accept a 6.5" speaker? Can the doors accommodate a speaker depth of 2.44"?
  12. I did a similiar drop-in upgrade to my Mazda Tribute (Ford Escape brother) using a Kicker 6.5" sub and amp. Very much worth the upgrade even with only a 6.5" sub - night and day difference over the stock sub/amp. Where did you mount your ZX400 Amp? What is that finned object behind the sub box? Is that the stock sub amp? - Doesn't look like a ZX400.
  13. It's no problem. I didn't read through the manual (PDF file) word for word but simply used the search feature of my browser. Apparently I used the wrong key words. Besides, I appreciate Grey's detailed response over a dry manual any day. Speaking of manuals, is a 2010 Service/Technical Manual available on CDrom somewhere? Signed, Patiently, still waiting.
  14. Thank you so much for your advice. It is much appreciated.
  15. I expect to take delivery of a new 2010 Edge Limited AWD (w/tow package) very soon. What is the standard break-in procedure? Do's & Don'ts... [i have not found the answer using the search feature or in the online user's manual.] Thanks!
