Yes, that threw me for awhile since I hadn't had a Ford product in many years. My MKX is Vivid Red paint code G2 which is the same as the Redfire paint code G2 on the Edge. It would end confusion if they just used the same names across the entire line and if the names are different it is truly a different paint color.

I just went out to the garage and looked at my MKX console lid. The cover is stitched just like my leather seats. If it isn't leather, it is a high grade soft touch vinyl that is embossed to look like my leather seats. The console housing itself however is plastic.

To Thick!! I have never heard of that one until now. I burn my own CD's and had played them in my Pilot for 3 years and now my MKX with no problems. I am looking at a paper label right now that I have and there is no way I would classifty that label as thick!!. I think you had a defective CD player and the dealer was trying to blame it on the CD. As long as the labels are tightly adhered to the CD and are not peeling I don't see how the CD could cause the problem due to excessive thickness.

Thanks for the pictures and the install instructions Bryce. Very easy to install, so now I will not hesitate about seeing if they have one at the lincoln accessories site which I am pretty sure they do.

I have read many reviews of both the Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX. I test drove both the Ford and Lincoln on two different occasions and settled on the MKX as a matter of personal choice. The reviews by CR of both the Ford and MKX can at times be bewildering as to what they are looking for in the vehicles. Even Motor Trends latest challenge of four different CUV's brought the MKX in 4th place. I found the fairest review and the one I agree with most on the strengths and weaknesses of the MKX is Edmund's.

I must say that on my Lincoln MKX the feature that I thought about its worth was the power lift gate because I never had one before. But after one month of owning the MKX, the power lift gate is one feature that I have come to like very much and find very convenient.

I am trying to upload my pictures of my MKX in my gallery and following the instructions I keep getting an error message that upload failed. It seems that it gets 90 percent done on the upload and then fails for some reason and says to contact the administrator.

Go to ford-parts-direct.com. I saw the same cover available for my MKX but the price is $112.00. No picture however.

I have the vivid red metallic color but what I am finding out it is the same color as the redfire Edge since they both have the same color code. It appears lincoln just used a different name.

Yes, right underneath the arm rest. I checked the rear doors and they don't have this issue. The panel is firm all the way across. It seems this is an issue on the front doors only for some reason.

I have a few minor items one of which is the passenger door silver cover that goes over the handle and window switch. The plastic cover doen't fit very well and is somewhat warped and needs to be replaced. It should fit flush and tight!!. Also, the driver door panel directly underneath the handle has some excessive give to it like a fastener is missing or they didn't design in enough fasteners to hold it tight to begin with.

I picked up my new MKX in vivid red metallic last Saturday. So far so good. My first Ford product in twenty-five years!! Only have found a few minor items that need to be taken care of so far and will attend to those at the first oil change. Very smooth engine and transmisson and rides great. I will post pictures in my gallery sometime this week.
