JAR1299 Posted February 9, 2013 Report Share Posted February 9, 2013 Well..just purchased a used '08 Limited AWD. Before I got it I noticed a leak from the PTU onto the exhaust. After researching on this great web site I found plenty of info indicating it is a common problem. I went to the selling (Toyota) dealer and told them about the leak. They had paperwork indicating it was just repaired (pulled and resealed PTU) by a local Ford dealer under warranty. After I purchased the vehicle I took it back to the dealer who repaired the PTU and they eneded up replacing it with a brand new unit under warranty.
