Hail Damage

So a hail storm with 1/2-3/4" hail came through on Tuesday night and I never even noticed dents until I washed the cars today. The Edge had the following dents:

Hood: 6+

Roof: 40+

Trunk: 0

Drivers Side: 15

Passenger Side: 2

The wife's 2005 Honda Accord faired much better as it was blocked from the side by the Edge but she had:

Hood: 0 (that I could find)

Roof: 28+

Trunk: 8

Drivers side: 6

Passenger Side 2

Is there a magic number where they would replace the roof or just pop them all out? I put the claim in for the Edge but I'm waiting to see how it goes before I make the claim for the Accord. The problem I see is that if we ever trade the Honda in, it is pretty worthless with the hail damage.

Of course, I cannot live with the dents in the Edge and it will be fixed, no matter the cost.

I've known some friends whose cars were totaled after getting hailed on but I don't believe we've come even close to that threshold. Thoughts, comments, experience, advice, all appreciated.
