ie2special
Hi all, I have an '07 Edge SEL plus in AWD, creme brulee with light interior. My Husband and I debated over the lincoln and the edge but decided on the edge. I love it but sometimes I still wish I had the lincoln. AS for other things it is a great vehicle. We have towed a light enclosed triler with ease and taken2 long road trips. I love the sunroof, but dont like the antiquated Naviagation. It does everything we needit to and looks great. Akready have 8K miles since september!! GLad to see you all!
818EDGE
Glad to see another happy Edge owner. I was wondering though how big is the trailer you towed with the Edge? My wife and I have thought about using our for some light towing, but we always end up using my truck. The stopping distance under hard braking is a bit far. It seems that it would be much worse with a trailer, especially one with no brakes.

I read the reviews, noted the comments about long braking distance. When I test drove it we tested the braking under panic conditions on a deserted road. Smooth controlled braking, brought the Edge down from a good speed in a predictable manner with no fuss. I didn't feel it had a long braking distance at all. Too many people get hung up on "how it looks on paper" Stopping distance is more defined by your reaction time and awareness of your surroundings than a statistic on a website that was determined by a professional driver in a controlled environment. ie2special
it is a 7 by 5 trailer. My dad is a boat mechanic, said it would be a great boat for towing. A whiel back I had a 99 ranger pickup 4 by 4 with the 4.0 v6 and the edge will out tow it. I had a full car trialer with a large f350 i pulled behind it once, I would put the edge up well towing, especially the AWD, but keep it out of overdrive till you get on the highway. I also had a 4 by 4 expedition i towed a lot with, I like the edge against it too!
