They need to be 8.5" wide, and I have seen sites that claim they are 8" wide and other sites that claim they are 9" wide. I like the tire selection available in 265/45-20 a lot better than what we can get in the OEM 245/50 size. A 265 tire will obviously work with the 21" wheel, since that's what comes on it, but does the 21" wheel have the same offset as the 20"?
